This spacious complex is located at the heart of the trendy tourist area of Playa Blanca, a charming fishing village to the south of Lanzarote. The complex enjoys close proximity to a wealth of attractions in the area, including Costa de Papagayo and El Golfo. The hotel is situated just 400 metres away from Playa Dorada Beach, and the luxurious Marina Rubicon. This wonderful complex blends effortlessly with its charming surroundings. The accommodation options are superbly designed, offering a peaceful, relaxed setting in which to escape the rest of the world. This complex's exemplary service, first-class facilities and peaceful, homely atmosphere sets it apart as a prime option for visitors to the area.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Beautiful hotel just about ten minutes walk to beach. Hotel consists of two levels spread over a large area in immaculate grounds with two beautiful outdoor swimming pools. Each room is a Junior Suite so has a living room as well as bedroom and shower room. There is a fridge and kettle with tea and coffee making facilities. There was also a carton of water in fridge. Lovely surprise after arriving near midnight after travelling all day. As a solo female traveller l felt very safe there and highly recommended for other solo travellers. Thank you to Lorenzo at reception for his professional, helpful and kind assistance. If l ever return to Playa Blanca l will definitely stay at this beautiful hotel again.
Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady who advised us that it was lunch time and as we were all inclusive told us to go get some lunch before checking in, we made our way over and were refused as we didn’t have a band, we explained the lady on reception told us to do so and after some embarrassment in front of other guests were told we could go in by a male member of staff. Lunch is below average for AI but we didn’t expect miracles, classes aren’t clean to drink from, food mediocre.. we then were directed to our room on the ‘ground floor’ after around 30 mins of circling in 28 degree heat, we spotted our room number upstairs and not on the ground floor.
Impressed with room, very spacious, marks on the bedding but nothing major, the cleaning while we were there wasn’t amazing, dirty cups and glasses etc never taken away, bedding unchanged also.
Breakfast was ok a decent variety, lunch poor & evening meals we decided to eat out as the food just wasn’t that exciting, kids would struggle to fill a plate, the drinks were poor, cocktails from a box, warm and bland! And have to pay extra for certain cocktails (pins colada) evening entertainment was none existent or really really bad, no spa as advertised!
People putting towels on sunbeds before bedtime for the next day and hotel allowed this, so never got a sunbed, pools were unclean and you could see green and stains etc which was off putting, only went in the pool once.
Aldi a short 5 min walk, the marina and main strip 15/20 mins walk, they were great places to eat and really reasonable, the beach and sea were beautiful, a €5 per bed and parasol charge but well worth it, just get there early enough.
Overall this hotel would be great as a base for sleeping, and or B&B but nothing else, wouldn’t recommend to families as kids would struggle with the food options, but adults/groups would love it.
Lovely hotel, very clean, room and balcony spacious and cleaned 6 days a week. However lacks basics for making food in the room. No cutlery or plates.
Pool lovely, nice to have a choice of 2 with different atmospheres. Handy on site shop but Aldi is less than 5 mins walk away.
Lots of food choice however hot buffet food was barely warm this let it down.
Entertainment wasn’t great, the animation guy spent more time on his phone and made no effort. Kids club/pool had a schedule at reception however all he did was sit in the corner on his phone.
Wouldn’t stay again as would prefer entertainment in the hotel but otherwise we had a great holiday.
So I changed my hotel to this one as the previous one I booked had poor reviews! It made me sceptical, but I have to say THB was brilliant! Had an amazing family holiday and will definitely be returning.
Positives
Negatives
Karaoke was 45 minutes! Pool games was one day a week, should be pool entertainment at least 3 times a week. Evening entertainment was so poor I chose to go to bed to sleep instead.
Overall it was great stay, I think negative comments are either personal issues or people being unnecessarily overly fussy! Was a lovely friendly stay, my son made friends and they played, and the families around seemed chatty and everyone got on, was a pleasant vibe around the place, The crepe/hotdog van kept a lot of the kids entertained as it’s all free! We stayed in family room the pullout bed was comfy, have added pics to show what it’s like!
Just stayed here for 2 weeks as breakfast only as we wanted to explore the local restaraunts and it fit our needs as a base. We relied on the taxis which was hit and miss but the hotel was always happy to help us plan and book.
Location is great as its away from the hustle and bustle and even our 5 year old managed the late walks back. Any younger and we would have needed a stroller though. Noise level was never an issue as entertainment was done by 2300 and most people seemed to settle down at the same time. We heard the odd "family dispute" but nothing I'd complain about.
Rooms are cute, well maintained and have everything you need as standard. Mini fridge was enough to keep our water and fruit chilled. Hairdryer was fine for us. Room was serviced 12 out of the 14 days we were there. They kept things very clean and we had no complaints. Plenty of sockets to keep tech charged for kids. WiFi is an issue and I think they are working on this.
My son made full use of the basic small gym and basketball court which is sufficient for the size of the hotel. Pools were great for our 5 year old with water wings and we never had an issue getting chairs although sometimes we saw people coming later on in the day struggle to get seats together.
We enjoyed the pool snacks (crepe, ice cream and hotdogs) but the queues were sometimes long considering others were all inclusive. The breakfast was great and had a wide selection which didn't get boring despite our length of stay.
Overall we felt happy with our stay. The staff are all brilliant and go out of their way to help you if you need them. The cleaning staff are very busy and work hard all day. A special shout out to Marta on the front desk and Denis in and around the hotel for their particular professionalism and attitude in helping us have a great stay. I felt overall it was good value for money.
We would come to THB royal again and recommend for a hassle free stay without a super expensive price tag.
