This sophisticated resort is located on the south of the island of Lanzarote, in front of the sea and only 10 kilometres from Timanfaya National Park and around 900 metres from the picturesque fishing village of Playa Blanca. The hotel was designed as a typical village of Lanzarote, with romantic courtyards and traditional spots. In fact, the entrance is a replica of Teguise's church, Our Lady of Guadalupe. This hotel stands out for its singular architecture and its refined service, thus becoming an icon of high-end tourism. All rooms have a living room with a sofa as well as a complete range of features, such as a pillow and sheet menu as well as a private en-suite bathroom with exclusive toiletries.
This was our 1st visit to Volcan and it won't be our last! The hotel is beautiful, clean throughout, peaceful, relaxing and in a great location right on the Marina. Our rooms were huge with lovely views, immaculately clean and great air conditioning. The hotel has thought of everything - water stations on each floor with ice and sparkling water, a beach bag in your room to use, no deposit needed for pool towels, free parking in the underground car park if you hire a car, really interesting activities during the day and a great line up of evening entertainment including singing by candlelight in the church reception. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We were greeted my a gentleman when we arrived at 1 am (I'm sorry i didn't catch his name)- we were delayed due to our plane being struck by lightning!!) and he helped us get settled in very quickly and even gave us a glass of fizz which was much appreciated! The staff at breakfast we also really helpful and polite especially Abrahim who made us laugh with his incredible fluent English! We were B&B so we only ate breakfast at the hotel but that was superb with a massive selection to choose from. The marina has so many lovely bars and restaurants you hardly need to walk into Playa Blanca but it only took about 20-25 mins. Playa Dorada beach is only a 10 in walk away and like everywhere else we went in Lanzarote is was really clean with some nice bars. We were very sad to leave this lovely hotel but we will definitely be back!
Absolutely incredible location, very close for the marina and market was right on the doorstep on a Wednesday and Saturday! The facilities in the hotel were incredible, there was an endless amount of activities to do, lots of areas to chill including multiple pools and a spa! The rooms were very well priced and the hotel itself wasn’t too busy, which is a change from normal holidays over the summer!! The hotel was kept very clean and the staff were all very helpful and friendly! It was a relatively quiet hotel, allowing us to chill despite there being some families with younger children, this had no impact :) thoroughly enjoyed our stay thanks so much! Would 100% come back :)
Very nice hotel near Marina Rubicon in Playa Blanca. Great choice of breakfast items hot and cold which is replenished frequently right up until 11 am. Choice of heated and unheated swimming pools. Lots of sunbeds and umbrellas. Rooms are spacious, spotless with balconies and showers with really good water pressure. Beds are quite hard but you get used to it. Pillow menu. Cleaning staff come daily and mop floors and empty bins, tidy and replenish the tea, coffee and milk. Small kettle and fridge in rooms. Very good sound insulation in rooms. Entertainment in evening most night. Gym could do with a lot of improvement but otherwise it’s an excellent hotel.
Arrived around midday after an early start in the UK, and fortunately our room was ready. Offered a glass of cava on arrival and a biscuit. It was an interesting start- the entrance is through a church and has a big waterfall in the reception area. Very unusual but lovely. Shown to our room which was very spacious and had plenty of storage space, a separate seated area inside and outside, his and hers sinks and a separate toilet/bidet. Fridge in the room but didn’t have the minibar, but used this to cool sangria from the supermarket and store some lunch items. We stayed B&B- we usually go all inclusive- the breakfast was good, cooked items, fresh omelettes, pastries, meats/cheeses, fresh bread/rolls. Coffee and tea was good- also option for coffee pods. Fresh juices and cava/bellini/Bloody Mary! Fresh fruit, tinned fruit, multiple nuts and seeds, dried fruit and yoghurts- dairy free, lactose free. Water fountains with cool, fizzy and room temp water and ice dispensers located in several places around the resort, so bring your refillable bottle.
Rooms cleaned daily and had lovely Rituals toiletries. Towels were ok, but not as big/fluffy as some other 5*s. Pool towels change as often as you like. The gym was closed on our holiday which we weren’t advised of and would have used. We didn’t use the spa but looked reasonably priced for a hotel.
Plenty of space around the pool never trouble finding beds. Swam daily- it was warm enough to use the unheated pool.
We were offered a special price buffet evening meal if we booked 3 or more. We booked and went one evening but wasn’t really as good as the choice at breakfast given the number of restaurants within such close distance at the marina and playa Blanca. So we cancelled the others and paid full price for the one we had. I am vegetarian and there was very little in terms of hot food- plenty of salad and cheese which is what you can get elsewhere anyway. The puddings were delicious though.
Entertainment in the day was limited- this was lovely for a relaxing break, but some more yoga or aqua would have been appreciated to have the option of. There was evening entertainment but we didn’t go. Couldn’t hear it from room.
All the staff were helpful and friendly, when we settled the bill the night before as we were leaving early, were offered a picnic breakfast box- so when we checked out had a bottle of water each, yoghurts, donuts, ham and cheese sandwiches and fruit… lovely touch.
For what we paid it was good value and a lovely hotel. I would come back - We normally do January in canaries and this hotel has good placement for sunbeds out of the wind so would consider, although probably not as good as some 5*s we have stayed at.
Arrived late after delayed flight to a very warm and friendly welcome. Check in very efficient and upgraded to a club room which included an adults only area with a lovely warm swimming pool and plenty of sun beds. The room was large with a very comfortable bed and a separate seating area. The bathroom had two sinks and lovely rituals toiletries. Housekeeping were excellent Hotel is in a lovely location just steps from the marina with restaurants and shops, also a comfortable 25 minute walk to the harbour with lots of restaurants and shops. The hotel is made up of lots of different buildings and is very charming, there is also a lovely church that you walk through to reception. Stayed bed and breakfast, there is a good selection of food and drinks. The only comment I would have is that there is not always someone to greet you at breakfast and in the first day we were not aware that you get tea/coffee from machine as most other 5 star hotels I have stayed at have served this at the table (only a minor comment) Would 💯 recommend this hotel , just bear in mind there are lots of steps if less mobile. Also it was my partners birthday and the hotel kindly left a bottle of fizz, some sweets and balloons which was a lovely gesture and very much appreciated 😊
