A bit late with the review as stayed the end of August 2025,but for us CalaLanzarote is the perfect hotel. Small and intimate meaning no daily sunbed wars (only 41 rooms i think),adults only and a lovely relaxing atmosphere about the place. Pool area is huge and you don't get that cramped feeling you can get at larger hotels and the pool bar is fantastic with great drinks, reasonably priced, great food options for lunch also reasonably priced. The only gripe with the hotel would be the time the pool bar closes. A bit early and would love it stay open a bit later. No dinner option available but not a concern for us as there are so many nice places to eat in the Marina just a short walk away. The rooms are great. No clutter with needless decorative furniture. Very comfy bed and a great shower and more than adequate hanging space for clothes as you walk into the room. Small fridge and a nespresso machine with 6 pods. Amazing views as all rooms have either pool/sea views or sea views. We stayed in one of the ground floor suites so it was open then sliding door and step out to the pool. Food was great. Cooked to order breakfast was small in options but plentiful when it arrived. Especially the French toast!!! Also continental buffet to choose from, cereals toast etc and the coffee was fantastic. The staff were fantastic from the reception to the cleaners and especially the restaurant and pool bar staff. Always a smile on their faces and nothing was a problem them. It was our anniversary while we were there and there was balloons and a lovely bottle of plonk there when we arrived. We're booked to return again this September for 9 nights and honestly can't wait. 1st time we've ever returned a hotel. As I said, for us it was Perfection.
Fabulous hotel, perfect position for the Marina and within 15minutes of the old town. On arrival we were welcomed with a lovely glass of local white wine and shown to our room 117. Our room was perfect, spotlessly clean and well maintained. The view over the ocean was stunning and had 2 sun beds, 2 chairs and a table as well on the patio. The TV also had British programmes like BBC and ITV along with Netflix. The breakfast (8a.m - 10a.m) was A La Carte so waiter service and ordered of a menu and the selection was very good along with a fresh orange machine and all the usual fruit and accompaniments - coffee was excellent. The Bar service is very good but only open from 11a.m until 6p.m and is card only. The weather was superb when we were there last week and at no point was there a scramble for sun beds - towels can be exchanged at reception. The pool was cool to get in but ok once acclimatised. Would really recommend this hotel if its peace, relaxation and tranquility your after. Would definitely return in a heartbeat.
After a warm welcome at the reception with a complementary glass of white wine, we were shown to our room. We liked the open-planned look. The puristic style may not be to all tastes. It certainly wasn’t always practical, showing fingerprints of previous guests on the white doors and walls. Why did the door to the toilet lack a handle and the sink in the toilet a towel rail? But it was clean and spacious, with enough space for clothes for a week, although lacking in enough coat hangers. I always bring extra. A coffee machine with coffee capsules (no milk) and a hot water kettle were supplied. Strangely enough without tea bags. A handheld shower nozzle and a rain shower with a very sensitive temperature regulation were in the open bathroom. The pool area was very attractive and the pool bar (open until 8pm) offered drinks and snacks. Luckily no entertainment or music, so very relaxing. The breakfast buffet provided enough variation for us with hot dishes (eggs etc.) available to order. The choice may be a little limited for some, if you are expecting a hugh 5-star experience. The breakfast room provided little ambience. More like a canteen, but then we weren’t there long in the morning. When they had enough staff and when the weather allowed, the terrasse was opened with breakfast seating. Overall, we enjoyed our stay as the hotel is relatively small and quiet.
Brilliant stay in room 204 we had never been to lanzarote before but friends who visited for years persuaded us to come . Fantastic hotel with great staff special shout out for raul, anabel & Xandra who went the extra mile. All rooms have a amazing sea view and great views of Feuventura I loved the a la carte cooked breakfasts much better than having to queue up. A short walk to Rubicon Marina which is a ten minute walk loads of great restaurants or if your feeling energetic a 40 minute walk into playa blanca. We will return for sure .
Second time visiting La Cala Suites and I am just as happy as my first visit in May 2025.
La Cala Suites has been designed to be small, quiet, and relaxing being for adults only - and the design works very well indeed. A great location too overlooking the promenade and the sea, and just a 5 to 10 minute easy walk to Marina Rubicon with all its bars, restaurants and shops.
Rooms are bright, airy, and clean, with a wi-fi TV, seating area, nicely firm bed, and little clutter. Small fridge, coffee pod machine, and safe too. Double sinks in shower area with a fantastic rainfall and body shower (excellent water pressure too). Rooms are tended to daily, however, being a solo traveller I don't really make much of a mess (apart from my empty wine bottles and snacks). A fresh bottle of water delivered too each morning.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful.
At the time of my visit a number of rooms are being refurbished (hotel opened in 2019). I was informed of this, and was given an option to change hotel, back in December 2025 and I am so glad I didn't change. Impact of the refurbishments was barely noticeable during the working day. Looking forward to seeing the new designs.
I am sure there are not many places where you could say that, of an evening, it is possible to sit on a balcony and relax to the gurgle of the pool, the chirps of the local birds, and hear the waves crash against the cliffs.
Already planning going back in 2027
Jonathan.
