HL Paradise Island

I only feel its fair to give my review now that we're home. Just spent 7 days here as a family of 10 which 2 members are children. The hotel was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting reading all the reviews on here and watching that woman on tiktok. Would I come back to this hotel no. Why? It needs a lot of TLC. The cleaners do not clean as they seem to just come in and remake a bed half heartedly that I had already made and replace towels but my floors weren't cleaned once and I had to constantly ask for toilet roll. There is a kettle cups and glasses. No tea etc but I just took some up from the restaurant with me. However they do not replace the glasses/cups if you use them. The entertainment on the first 2 evenings were amazing. The mini disco was shocking every night and then for the rest of the week the evening entertainment was non existent and the staff looked like they wanted to be elsewhere. The food was ok most of us found something to eat. Although I did get an upset belly on the curry night. One of the pools felt slimy and you couldn't see but did get cleaned halfway through the week and the water was clear which made me question why it wasnt cleaned every night! As the pools were always rammed. People leave rubbish absolutely everywhere! We booked the monday market to Teguise at reception which was absolutely huge and for the price of the coach was pretty good! We took the free shuttle to playa blanca beach a few times and took a taxi to flamingo beach which cost us €3.40 each way. Highly recommend the submarine tour and the lanzarote mini cruise. Waterslides were just ok but again a lot of TLC needed and the steps going to the big sides were slimy and a hazard they need a good scrub! Playa blanca we would come to 100% but unfortunately not the hotel. Overall we had an amazing time but it is what you make it 🫶

Arrived at HL Paradise on an assisted holiday with the group we look after, and once again we received the most amazing welcome. ❤️

We came here with the group last year, and we also come as a family, so it really feels like coming home every time.

Sonia remembered us from last year, which was so lovely and really made us feel special. Her welcome was absolutely beautiful and it was so nice to see her again. Her colleague Raul was also so welcoming and helpful, especially knowing that we were looking after a special group.

They both went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and supported from the moment we arrived. It means so much to us when staff take the time to understand our group and make everyone feel included and welcome.

Thank you Sonia and Raul for making our arrival so special once again. We’re so happy to be back at HL Paradise! ✨💕🫶

We spent a few days at the hotel, and our stay had some notable highs and lows.

On the positive side, the best part of the hotel is the staff. The waiters and bartenders are exceptional, really attentive, always smiling, professional, and making every moment special.

However, the animation team was a major disappointment and falls far short of the rest of the staff's standard. There is a clear lack of organization and direction; the animators seem to wander around without clear instructions on what to do or how to engage guests, and it is honestly uncomfortable to watch them in that situation. Additionally, there is a noticeable issue with language qualifications, as it is practically impossible to hold a basic conversation in English with several of them, which is unacceptable for an international hotel.

The facilities are nice and the location is convenient, but the poor management of leisure activities really detracts from the overall experience. They desperately need to restructure the entertainment department if they want to live up to their potential.
