H10 White Suites

Hotel and room were comfortable and clean, compared to other hotels we have stayed in at a 4 star we would say that we had a better experience. The pool area was good and easy to get a sunbed but staff went round and removed towels and belongings when guests had just been for breakfast, we’d understand if they had been reserved and nobody sitting on them for an extended period. Where the guests were elderly and struggled with mobility we felt this was quite unfair.

Space to relax in the hotel was limited and although nicely kept it isn’t a large hotel, the pool bar and area outside was nice but for evening comfier chairs than the plastic ones would be better and only plastic glasses could be used outside while watching the entertainment which lets it down.

The location is good with an easy walk to the harbour and beach and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby.

The restaurant was average, there was always something for us to eat as we aren’t fussy but I think people could struggle, the freshly cooked meat is a nice touch but the staff often leave the station and can take a while to get served.

We have just got back from a week here. We read the reviews and were worried but honestly we couldn’t fault this hotel, yeah the food isn’t Michelin star but you will never starve, the pool bar drinks and food are great. The room was massive clean and fresh towels everyday. The staff are all so welcoming and friendly, great location, yes people get up early to put a towel on the beds. We never couldn’t get a bed and sometimes we didn’t go to the pool till 12pm I feel people are so picky. It’s adult only and honestly don’t be put off by the reviews.

There are some positives at White Suites, but overall we found the hotel disappointing. The design and comfort of the sun loungers is excellent - probably the best feature of the hotel, so big tick for that. The Deluxe pool area is also very pleasant and deserves another tick. Pool attendants were attentive, friendly and alert. Unfortunately, everything else felt fairly average or just about passable for a hotel at this 4*? level. The biggest disappointment was the food. Both the variety and quality were well below expectations really and that includes both evening buffet and breakfast. There was very little that made the dining experience feel special or worthy of the standard the hotel is aiming for. Our Deluxe Suite also had several issues. The air conditioning was barely noticeable and, even on its lowest setting, the room temperature was around 26°C, which made the suite uncomfortable at times. The shower leaked badly enough to semi flood the bathroom floor each day, the sink plug didn't work, and the shower water pressure was poor. Cleaning was excellent and timely. There were noisy, major roadworks going on every day, other than weekends, very close to our suite. Something we were not made aware of when checking in, poor. Understand that's outwith the hotels control, however this issue adversely affected our holiday. Overall, there are some nice touches - particularly the loungers and Deluxe pool area - but too many of the basics weren't up to the standard expected. For us, excellent in a couple of areas, but distinctly average everywhere else. Unfortunately too much not to our liking so won't be booking again.
