We stayed here for 10 nights for our honeymoon.

Check-in & Check-out

Check-in was straightforward. We arrived on an early flight, so we knew we’d have to wait until the official 3pm check-in time. Reception kindly told us they would call if our room became available any earlier, which we really appreciated, and we were able to get into our room at around 2:15pm. The hotel itself gave a great first impression – it was spotlessly clean throughout, with a modern lobby and well-maintained surroundings.

The check-out process was equally easy. If you have a late flight, you can either pay €15 per hour to keep your room or book a shower room for around 30 minutes before you leave, which is a nice option to have.

Room

The room itself was spacious, modern and exceptionally clean. The beds were huge, although we personally found the mattresses quite firm. We only discovered on our last day that mattress toppers are available on request, so I’d definitely recommend asking for one if you prefer a softer bed.

Unfortunately, the biggest issue during our stay was the building work directly outside our room. My wife had finished a night shift before travelling to Lanzarote, so we were both looking forward to catching up on some much-needed sleep. Sadly, that wasn’t possible due to the constant noise.

We raised this with reception and were offered either a paid upgrade of approximately £480 or a complimentary room move the following day. We accepted the room move, but the new room was almost directly opposite our original room, just one floor higher, meaning the building noise was just as loud, if not louder. We reported it again and were offered another room a few doors away, but this room only had twin beds rather than the double we’d booked. We appreciated the hotel trying to resolve the issue, and they even contacted us afterwards to check whether everything was okay. However, by that point we’d already raised the problem several times and didn’t feel another conversation would change the outcome, so we stayed where we were. Thankfully, the building work stopped after around four days, but unfortunately it had already had a big impact on the start of our honeymoon.

Food & Drink

The buffet had themed evenings every night, which was a nice idea, but we found the food to be repetitive and quite bland. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the quality we expected from a four-star hotel, and we ended up eating out at local restaurants on several evenings instead.

The poolside snack bar, however, was excellent. There was a great selection of freshly cooked meals made to order, and we took full advantage of it most lunchtimes. We never had a bad meal there.

The all-inclusive drinks were a pleasant surprise, with premium branded spirits included and generous measures. Cocktails were a little hit and miss, although we found the best ones were served in the Club House. The sangria was particularly enjoyable. Although it came from a bottle rather than being freshly made, it was still very tasty. My advice would be to stick with the beer or branded spirits rather than the cocktails.

Staff

The staff were one of the highlights of the hotel. Everyone worked incredibly hard, often for very long hours, but always had a smile on their face. They were friendly, attentive and happy to help whenever needed. It was also refreshing to see managers working alongside their teams rather than simply supervising, something you don’t often see.

Evening Entertainment

The entertainment was very mixed and was mainly aimed at an older clientele. Without a doubt, the flamenco night was the highlight of the week and brought a lovely Spanish atmosphere to the hotel.

The Disco Bar, however, felt quite outdated and almost like stepping back into the 1990s. Most evenings, the entertainment finished around 10:30pm before changing to background music. Unfortunately, there was very little atmosphere, and just as guests were getting up to dance and enjoy themselves, the entertainment would come to an end.

Pool Area

The hotel has three pools. One is a walk-in pool that reaches around waist height, although there are no handrails, which may make access difficult for guests with mobility issues. The indoor pool and the main outdoor pool both use ladders, although there is also an accessible pool lift available.

There was also a great number of sunbeds available. No matter what time we went out, we were always able to find somewhere to sit without any issues.

Location

The hotel is around a 20-minute walk to the port, where you’ll find a wide choice of restaurants and a few bars. It’s an easy, pleasant walk and gives you plenty of options if you fancy eating away from the hotel.

Overall

Overall, the hotel has many positives. It’s clean, modern, has hardworking staff and good pool facilities. However, for us, the negatives outweighed the positives.

The lack of sleep caused by the building work, the disappointing buffet food, inconsistent cocktails and evening entertainment unfortunately meant our honeymoon wasn’t quite the relaxing experience we’d hoped for. We genuinely feel like we’ll need another honeymoon so that we remember it for the right reasons rather than the lack of sleep and the disappointments we experienced.

Unfortunately, we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

2nd visit and the staff absolutely make this hotel! Bar staff are brilliant! Food was not quite as good as last year but not worth a complaint- food not as great in La Geria but service very good. Sandra at breakfast is so efficient.
