H10 Timanfaya Palace

We recently stayed at H10 Timanfaya Palace and, although the hotel is in a lovely location, we were disappointed overall.

Our biggest concern was the lack of effective air conditioning in the lobby and restaurant. With temperatures around 36°C, these areas became extremely hot and uncomfortable. My wife has cystic fibrosis, so this was not simply a comfort issue but a genuine health concern. At times, the only way she could cool down properly was to return to our bedroom because it was air conditioned.

We asked whether she could use the Privilege Lounge simply to cool down, but the hotel refused unless we paid an additional £42 per person, per day. Given the circumstances and the fact this was related to her health, we found that response extremely disappointing and, quite frankly, insulting.

We also had ants in our bedroom, the food became repetitive, and we felt there was a noticeable difference in the experience depending on whether guests were All Inclusive or Privilege.

Some staff were lovely and helpful, but for the price we paid, we expected much better. We raised our concerns with TUI and were offered £100 compensation, which we did not feel reflected the impact these issues had on our holiday.

Unfortunately, we would not return unless these problems were properly addressed.

Just to say a big thank you to all the lovely staff for a great stay at the Timanfaya Palace lanzarote. We were there for 10 days and we cannot fault. We were very well looked after by all the lovely staff and nothing was too much bother for them. The food was good and the entertainment was great. We thoroughly enjoyed, Gentlemen on the Road. The music was brilliant and the repore that they have between them is just great. We will return at some stage and would recommend to anyone. Many thanks Margaret and Dave
