Caybech Sun is located in the south of Lanzarote, one of the most popular tourist áreas of the island. The nearest beach is around 600 metres away. The hotel comprises a total of 150 fully equipped apartments with terrace or balcony spread over 2 floors and surrounded by beautiful gardens with all services and facilities. A bar and a restaurant are available to enjoy the day with refreshing drinks and snacks. Also, you can spend the day in the outdoor swimming pool or in the sport área practicing Volleyball, Tennis or Basket. For children we also have a mini club and lots of activities with the entertainment team as well as a a children's park. Restaurants, bars , shops and public transport links can be found within 20-minute walk of the hotel.
15 minutes walk to nearest bars. Room was dated and shower room and kitchenette/lounge area full of ants. Music at the night bar way too loud. Kitchen appliances worn, microwave rusty and dirty, freezer compartment of the fridge completely iced up, not been defrosted in months. Room only cleaned twice in 7 days.
We've been here for a week of our 11 night self catering stay so far we are loving it. I emailed the hotel prior that my wife would be on crutches and asked for a ground floor room. That's exactly what we got overlooking the pool. A cracking spot. The room is a little tired and dated and has a few dents and scratches etc but is clean and functional.(Rather like myself). We've had a few minor issues with the air con and the toilet but these have been sorted quickly by the maintenance guys. The room has been cleaned to a high standard every day. With Aldi just down the road and a small supermarket on site it makes for an easy inexpensive holiday. It is not a super luxurious 4/5 star hotel but just a nice little apartment in Playa Blanca. We hope to return soon.
Before this, I had only ever stayed in 4- or 5-star hotels, never in a 3-star hotel or apartment, so I was a bit worried at first. However, it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise for our family. Everything was excellent, and in my opinion, this hotel easily deserves a 4-star rating.
The grounds, rooms, reception area, swimming pools, and the rest of the facilities were all clean, well-maintained, and beautifully kept. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is excellent. We rented a car, but even on foot the beach and everything else are very easy to reach.
I'm not sure what kind of rooms or apartments the people who left negative reviews stayed in, but ours was in excellent condition and we couldn't fault it at all.
Starting with the positives. Great location, short walk from the beach and playa blanca promenades in both directions for great shopping, restaurants. Aldi a 5 minute walk down the road (but if you can drive, go to the Lidl its much better)
Actually fairly quiet in the evenings, which was nice
The apartments/rooms were cleaned to a good standard and the outside areas and pools were also cleaned very well.
The bad. Staff were kind of middle of the road, some great some just kind of seemed like they couldn't be bothered - usually pool bar / reception staff. The tiny onsite shop had some good hours, until then they just pasted some new hours without warning over top of the others. No real mention of the amenities available.
The main issue for us was the self-catering apartments. Age related wear on the apartments is apparent, the AC condenser leaks onto the floor if you leave it on over 30 minutes and all of the TVs are small ones from like 2005, no smart options - no point in advertising having a TV if all you can watch is Spanish TV on it.
The biggest issue was the kitchen. One dishtowel never replaced in a week, no sharp knives to cut food up with (one small blunt potato peeler) an old rusty coffee machine from the 90s, no kettle.
Plates, but no bowls. Absolutely no bowls, asked at reception, "sorry we don't provide bowls". But they sell cereal in the onsite shop.
They provided two saucepans and a frying pan, no spatula or any kind of equipment to actually use the kitchen. Very disappointing.
Freezer section of fridge was not sufficient to keep things properly cold. Just slightly more chilled than the rest of the fridge.
Shelves, electrical functions kind of hanging off the wall - age related stuff, but easy to fix Wont be staying there again. I'd like to say you gets what you pay for, but the MYND YAIZA round the corner was not much more expensive and much better value / newer
After reading some of the reviews i was sllightly concerned .but this a very good family hotel i had a 2 bedroom with my to grandsons 5 and 7 basic but spacious pool area spotless .pool bar decent food at lunch time .their is a kids entertainer pica the guy works really hard and good with kids .all in we had a good time at this hotel. I found this hotel very safe for children
