What a lovely hotel, one of the best if not THE best in Playa Blanca, fantastic for families and couples who prefer a little more solitude, I reserved a room in the Royal Level, an adult only section of the hotel which was superb.
Difficult to find anything to fault with this hotel. The standard was up there with some of the 5 star resorts we’ve been to.
The gym was excellent and one of the top hotel gyms I’ve been to. The food was great- we ate in the à la carte and had no complaints.
We only went ro the main buffet once on our last day, we werent overly impressed but cant comment on the other days.
The hotel itself is massive but no bigger than some of the turkish resorts.
The sports bar was a nice change of scenery as the entertainment was just ok.
The location was good and the access via the side gate was really handy.
Would recommend for the royal level stay!
The RL area is fantastic- very clean, lovely and peaceful being adults only. Pool is lovely although temperature fluctuations are a shame. Same with swim up rooms, temp often baltic then a couple of good days then back to cold. Perfect location near marina and beach just a short walk. Lots of restaurants to choose from (the 3 below the hotel were all great!) A La carte food generally really nice but the buffet let's it down, as its purely local fair with no plain options. also think they miss a trick with no light buffet options at lunch. Service generally really good although it does suffer inconsistency at times. Always in a rush to grab your plate the second the last piece of food is on the fork, which is frustrating and unnecessary given how quiet the whole area is currently. Pool bar closes by 7pm and restaurant closes at 10pm so if you want anything after that you have to leave RL which defeats the object a little of being adults only. I also think they miss a trick by not having Pool bar service as this would be a good way to increase their tips. Overall its a cracking hotel and we would definitely love to return but probably half board and not swim up
We wanted to get married in this hotel but unfortunately they don't yet offer this :( However, we still chose to stay here as a total group of 16, we booked Royal Level and we were well looked after! The rooms we spot on, with us being kept closed together, food was second to none in both Royal Level and in the main buffet. There was no fighting for sun loungers, plenty for everyone. On our wedding day, we returned to our room to find it so beautifully decorated with a lovely bottle of bubbles and chocolates. For dinner I had requested for us all to be seated together, which was accommodated with tables laid beautifully with name places I had bought with us, they had even managed to sneak a photo of us taken on our return and had it printed and framed. Dietary requirements were also accommodated so that everyone could be included. We were sad to leave but we are already looking at plans to return next year. Thank you to Camilla, Guest services, the superb check in team on Royal Level and all of the dining room staff down in Magical restaurant :)
This was my 4th trip in 16 months. Staying in the Royal Level. Its a very relaxing stay. The rooms are lovely. Never heard a sound from the nearby building works. I enjoyed all meals in the Magical restaurant. And some fab drinks. The lack of entertainment does not bother me. I just like a quiet drink in the evening. I will be back again later in the year. If you want a rowdy hotel all beer and bingo and tacky entertainment then Barcelo Royal Level wont suit you.
