We have just returned from a 10 night stay in Vitalclass. We travelled as a party of 6; 4 adults and 2 children. Overall the hotel is good. There’s more positives than negatives .
Starting with the positives. The food is very good for an all inclusive. The hot food is always warm and fresh and replenished often. Breakfast has really good options. As with all inclusive food, it can get a little samey towards the end of the stay and there’s only the one restaurant so no specialty restaurant options . The restaurant itself was spacious. Theres always Prosecco / Wine etc available. Whilst we stayed there, I think there was an air con issue and the restaurant was very warm; especially in the evening as the sun shines through the glass panels into your eyesight.
The rooms are large and spacious - apartment style. The bathroom is excellent . Double sink and a good shower. Tv in the living room has English channels which was handy . One negative on this - we came back one night and went into the bedroom and found a cockroach crawling on the bed. This spooked my partner out. We removed the cockroach ourselves and went to reception. My partner wanted to change rooms but were told that there was none available and just gave us some cockroach spray. The next day when we spoke to reception again, they agreed to knock off our pool bar bill ( you have to pay for ice creams for most of the day ). We racked up about 25-30 euros in total. This was a gesture of goodwill. However when we checked out; the man on reception claimed he knew nothing about this and made us pay the bill. The money was kind of irrelevant as it was such a small total but things like that are really poor customer service . The guy was a bit rude when explaining this also.
The entertainment was a mixed bag. Not a huge amount going on in the daytime apart from the odd activity - mainly coordinated by the FRAM team ( the French reps ). Night time entertainment was mixed. About 3 nights a week, an external person / persons would come in. Magician / Acrobat / Singer and they were excellent. My only complaint was it only lasted 45 mins so was all wrapped up before 22:00. The mini disco at 20:30 every night was really good. The kids loved that. The remaining 4 nights were a bit basic. Disco music / a quiz which was just whoever in the audience shouted loudest and karaoke which was difficult because you had to cater for French / Spanish and English so obviously we didn’t know each others songs. I think the entertainment could be much stronger . The main bar was boiling too. I think the air con wasn’t working in there also :
All inclusive drinks were good. Lots of options. Having to scan your room card everytime you get a drink was a bit painful though. They should just introduce a wristband system like every other AI hotel does.
Pools were excellent. A bit cold but that’s always the case. Once you got in and moved around, they were fine. The kids pool was brilliant. However they shut off half of the sun beds for no apparent reason so sometimes it was hard to get beds in that area. The beds in the main pool area were plentiful. You could get a bed anywhere at anytime.
Snack bar only open 15:30-17:30. That’s a bit short. Here you could get ice creams for a 2 hour slot ( but just the basic ones ). The snack bar options were very limited also.
The beach is a Long walk away but we knew that before booking. Also the first beach is very stony. If you walk around the coast, there’s a couple of lovely beaches but it’s a long walk. I think there was a free shuttle service if you wanted to use that.
The receptionists were sometimes helpful but sometimes not. England played whilst we were there and they had a tv in the bar area which was showing games. Coincidentally the tv stopped working the day before the England game and reception weren’t too interested in getting it fixed. Miraculously it started working the day after the England game. We had to watch in our room- which was fine. Virtually all of the other England fans went into town to watch it so it meant the bar area was completely empty that night - so I felt sorry for the singer that was singing to nobody.
The night previously; the French game was shown in a private room which was kitted out beautifully. This was explained to me that it’s a service provided by FRAM - French tour operator. Genuinely if you are French, you’ll have a better experience at the hotel as the FRAM team are on 24/7 looking after the French guests day and night. There isn’t that service for English / Spanish guests.
Overall a good holiday. Kids loved it and were in out of the pool most of the day. Weather was beautiful for the main.
We’d return to Lanzarote but not to this hotel .
We arrived on June 29th and leave in a few days. Our main criteria was to find a kids friendly hotel, with aircon and a kitchen.
On the positives the kids really enjoyed the kids play and pool area. If you have a car you can drive to some nice beaches and restaurants and would recommend doing this.
The negatives:
NO AIR CONDITIONING. The room temperature is 26degrees at the moment. Our fan was broken but was fixed pretty quickly when we asked. The fans are noisey and don’t help with the heat we are currently experiencing.
KITCHEN HAS NO USABLE EQUIPMENT. There is a small kitchen with two ring hob. No pans were supplied. A note was left saying if we wanted pans we had to request so we did. One small pan (more of an old fashioned skillet arrived ), it was broken and dented! All we could do was laugh at this point! We have a fridge which works well enough. No microwave. Some rooms have coffee machines … we have a box for a machine but noting inside. Again all we can do is laugh.
FOOD QUALITY: The breakfast is the same every day. Lots to choose from but quality is not there. The scrambled eggs had a rotten taste on day two and I’ve avoided them since. Pancakes were burnt. The fruit options consist of rotten bananas, what looks like tinned pears and oranges. There was melon offered on two days. We have eaten out most days so can’t comment on other offerings. Pool side pizza and chips for the kids was poor , dry and inedible.
STAFF: are friendly and there appears to be some maintenance happening but a lot more required.
POOLS: slippery surfaces, broken tiles, dirty water green slime on the edges. Some loungers need replaced. There are four pools of difference sizes to choose from.
Cleaning is inconsistent in the rooms. The first few days were good, recently we have had bins not emptied, towels taken but none to replace.
When we mentioned the issue with the aircon we were told engineers are looking into it. Nothing offered by way of compensation for advertising as an air conditioned hotel yet having none.
Our kids have had a good time which makes the holiday worthwhile for us but we won’t be coming back. We are glad we didn’t pay extra for all inclusive. We would come back to Lanzarote but not to here sadly.
Very poor experience - not a 4* hotel.
Arrived on 29th June to find no air con across the hotel. Told engineers were looking at it but they didn’t know when it would be fixed. Our travel agent in the UK arranged portable air con units for us at a cost of 100 euros. Once WE paid for this we were then told the hotel could have arranged - we are still waiting for the hotel to refund the money and we go home tomorrow. Air con units provided need to be vented out the window so can’t use overnight which means rooms have been over 20 degrees c to try to sleep in. Our travel agent has discovered that the air con has been broken for some time but neither the hotel or Jet2 are being honest with customers about this. The hotel are not proactively offering portable air con units - only when customers complain. Jet2 also doing nothing about this issue.
The hotel is very run down and in some areas dirty.
Rooms - are spacious but bathroom door is nearly 10cm narrower than the other doors - this meant our wheelchair user was unable to access the bathroom until our travel rep in the UK arranged some equipment for us. Neither the hotel or Jet2 did anything about this - there answer was to take our wheelchair user to the bathroom in the spa - a 10 minute walk away around the outside of the hotel on a busy road and only open 8-8. The onsite Jet2 rep was too concerned with leaving site to support us with this after 18 hours of leaving home and having had no sleep.
We also had a broken toilet (which was fixed quickly) and a broken sliding door onto the terrace of our ground floor room. This was reported 3 times, and not fixed properly until we reported a 4th time, with no understanding on by hotel staff that this meant our room was unsecured.
Charged 17.50 euro on arrival for the safe as we were told we needed a key to use it but when we got to the room no key was required and we could have just used it.
Whilst the bathroom is spacious, it also has very sloppy tiles and a slop in the shower which was dangerous.
Housekeeping very inconsistent and we have had cockroaches. We reported the cockroaches before 9am and had to chase the hotel 5 times over 6 hours, and complained to Jet2 via WhatsApp- it took Jet2 ringing reception for this issue to be dealt with.
Restaurant - food has been covered in flies and mouldy food has been put out for customers to eat. The hotel has made no effort to deal with these issues despite us complaining several times, and having heard other customers complain as well. The food has been mediocre, with little choice and strange combinations as they have tried to use up food left over from the day before. ‘Snacks’ in between mealtimes has largely consisted of left over food from breakfast/lunch. No air con in the restaurant either making it very uncomfortable to sit long enough to eat a meal.
Pool area - there should have been a pool with gradual stepped access and a handrail - this was on the photos at the time of booking and one of our travel agents stayed here previously and confirmed this was the case. Now no pools have gradual stepped entry so our wheelchair user has been unable to access the pools all week (Jet2 rep claims there has never been a pool with gradual stepped entry even though our travel agent has photos of it). Pools dirty, green water most mornings and tiles peeling off in the bottom of the pool. Pool area itself has extremely slippery tiles. No lifeguards - some staff wear pink ‘SOS’ t-shirts but they patrol the area collecting grasses so are not watching the pool consistently.
Public toilets by the pool and in the hotel reception dirty and lacking soap to wash hands. Doors don’t lock properly.
We stayed all inclusive and have had to show our room key every time we wanted food or drink which was a pain.
The hotel clearly has a partnership with a French company - their rep has been permanently on site and their team provided some of the activities. French customers have wrist bands so not sure why it’s so different for Jet2 customers.
Entertainment very mediocre and mainly revolved around cocktail making from 10am! Too hot to sit in the ‘disco bar’ at night without air con.
We were given very little information when we checked in - for example not told snack times/locations. We were given vouchers and told we could exchange for a free massage in the spa, but when we went back to book we were told it was for an hour in the spa pool/facilities not for treatments.
Jet2 rep has hardly been onsite. She was here the day we arrived for 45 minutes, then not onsite again for another 3 days and then only for 30-45 minutes at a time. She made no effort to contact us despite the problems we were having.
Location - this hotel is in the middle of nowhere and has no onsite shop so we have spent over 150 euro in taxis to visit shops and attractions. As we are an active family this has been very challenging for us.
Overall we have been very disappointed especially given how much we paid to stay here. It is very clearly not a 4* hotel and Jet2 have been awful.
If I could have marked this as 0 out of 5 I would have done so!
Will not be returning Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The hotel is in a very secluded location with very little nearby, so you're largely dependent on the hotel for food and facilities. You can walk into the centre, but it takes around 30 minutes, or you can get a taxi for approximately €5.
The food was one of the biggest letdowns. There was very little variety, and the quality was poor, making mealtimes repetitive and unenjoyable.
Another major issue was the air conditioning. It wasn't working properly throughout most of the hotel. Although it was functioning in our room, it barely cooled the space, and the temperature stayed around 26–28°C, which made it uncomfortable, especially at night.
Cleanliness also fell below expectations. The hotel didn't feel well maintained, and the towels were old, worn, and frayed, giving the impression that they should have been replaced long ago.
Overall, this hotel did not meet the standard we expected, and I wouldn't choose to stay here again. This definitely should not be a 4* hotel.
My visit to VISTAROACHSPA
Rooms are basic décor in need of a refresh. Air con doesn’t work in any of the rooms making sleeping difficult.
I had to get housekeeping to spray the rooms after more than one visit of a cockroach with 24 hours of arrival. But I guess it’s one of those things? Nope, the cockroaches were also present in the massage room! Although I must admit this one had clearly had a long day and was on its back lifeless.
Double Beds - feels like Concrete Shower .- hot water good power Kitchenette - Clean but didn’t use it
Food - Basic but as with most AI you can find something to suit your dietary needs. There is currently 1/2 working microwaves in the dining area if it is you prefer to not have your buffet food Luke warm.
Massage - 1 hour deep tissue was worth the price it despite the presence of Mr Roach. But if a ticket to use the spa is also not worth it. Steam room wasn’t working and facilities were dated.
Haman spa treatment was not available.
Best bits: The beach, shop’s restaurants. So basically anywhere hut the hotel.
The sun was hot and the drinks numbed the thought of a cockroach in my room a night.
I most certainly won’t return here.
