Perfect for families
Been to sands beach over 15 times,love it there,atmosphere calming and relaxed.The staff are welcoming and the pools are very nice.Would highly recommend sands beach!
Honest review
We are not long back from Sands beach Resort and I would like to post an honest review for potential people looking to book the hotel. I decided to book a last minute holiday for myself and my four year old, booking everything separately. We arrived late Thursday night, the reception staff were lovely. I booked half board and we made it in time for tea. Our room on arrival was old fashioned and outdated but I didn’t care as long as it was clean. We discovered 3 cockroaches in our bed along with them in the living room and bathroom. I understand it can’t be helped in resort however they were everywhere. The reception staff were very nice and changed us room to a newly refurbished room which was lovely and clean.( however maybe being a bit nit picky but didn’t offer or help a single mum with suitcases and an extremely tired 4 year old move room from one plaza to the next) We were half board and the food was fantastic along with the restaurant staff. The pools were fine- we spent most of the time out at the beach or days out however we enjoyed the pool at the lido. We did not go up to the kids club but attended the kids disco 2 nights where it was one lovely lady with a speaker dancing in the bar and around 2 children in total. I decided I’d rather spend the same money enjoying a glass of wine on the beach front. I understand it’s going through renovations however Walking around the resort it was outdated and unclean at parts. I personally would not return to this resort but if you would like a cheap deal to sit in the sun it’s for you.
Ideal for families looking for relaxing holiday
This was our second visit to Sands Beach Resort on a family holiday. While our 2 bed apartment was dated, it was clean & well serviced during our week long stay; towels changed daily, floors mopped & beds changed once during week. Well stocked with plenty of room & storage space for a family of 6. Staff at resort are friendly & helpful. Yes there is a lot of upgrading work happening at the resort at the moment but it didn't impact on our stay here. Pool area clean with plenty of sun beds. There is a construction site next door to the resort where works can be heard during the weekdays but again didn't bother us. The supermarket on site is well stocked but pricier than the local supermarkets. The resort is at the edge of town but within walking distance. Activities were available for adults & kids during day & at night, we didn't partake so can't comment. Is a quiet resort so depends on what you're looking for but suited what our family wanted. The fact we returned again says enough & would certainly consider staying again if returning to lanzarote.
Avoid
Dirty old and tired. They have building work for 12 hours a day. Hell on earth.

Holiday from hell!!!!!!
⭐ 1 STAR – NOT THE FAMILY HOLIDAY WE EXPECTED
I stayed at Sands Beach Resort in Costa Teguise with my daughter and my 11-month-old grandson.
I want to be fair and say that there were members of staff who genuinely tried to help us, and one particular member of management was extremely helpful and sympathetic. Unfortunately, that does not take away from what happened during our stay.
We experienced repeated accommodation problems, had to move rooms more than once and encountered cockroaches in the accommodation.
Travelling with an 11-month-old baby made this considerably more stressful.
One of the things that concerned me most was insect poison being placed in accommodation where my grandson was staying despite us having raised concerns. As his grandmother, that immediately became a health and safety concern for me rather than simply a complaint about the quality of a hotel room.
Instead of enjoying our holiday, a substantial amount of time was spent speaking to reception, dealing with problems, packing belongings and moving accommodation.
The hotel eventually provided us with a cash goodwill payment. We were clearly told by hotel management that this was a goodwill gesture from Sands Beach Resort and that we should pursue the remainder of our complaint with Loveholidays.
I appreciated the staff members who genuinely tried to help us and I will always acknowledge that.
However, families booking this resort deserve to know about our experience.
A family holiday involving a baby should not involve cockroaches, repeated room moves and worries about insecticide being used in the accommodation.
We went away expecting a relaxing week together. Instead, far too much of our holiday was spent trying to resolve problems with the accommodation.
Sadly, based on our experience, I could not recommend Sands Beach Resort.
