This comfortable apartment complex is situated in the renowned tourist area of Costa Teguise. The nearest fine sandy beach can be found within walking distance from the hotel. The nearest public transport stops are located in the hotel's immediate vicinity. This is a perfect holiday complex both for families with children and groups of friends wishing to spend a few days under the sun.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We had a 1 bed appartment with sea and pool view. Room was a great size.. Kitchen area was on the small side .. but it wasn't a real issue as there was only 2 of us . Comfortable beds and a huge double wardrobe and a pool view. Big balcony off the living area, with sun lounger and table/chairs .. it was above the shops in the street, but never had any issues with noise. Bathroom was great.. large shower. Rooms cleaned every other day.. beds changed every 4 days No air con.. but fans provided.. we booked a portable air con unit, waste of time in our opinion. Pool area, no issues issues getting a sunbed, howerever parasols are not in abundance and you can't move them. Quiet pool round the other side too, but no parasols there . Bar.. we went in once.. not for us at all.. Restaurant, never went in so can't comment . Location is spot on ..great for everything. Staff were friendly..everything was clean. There is some work going on next door , we heard the noise once for about an hour in our 10 day stay . Overall It was an average 3 star hotel.. nothing outstanding, but no complaints either .. Would I go back.. if I had kids , probably, but as a couple in our 50's .. no proberbly not.
We stayed half board and for a 3* the food was decent. The hotel is right across the road from the beach and within seconds of shops, restaurants and bars, it in a really good location. Rooms need updating, our 1 bed apartment was quite literally falling apart. Entertainment was a bit rubbish considering it was the summer holidays and the hotel was full. For a budget friendly 3* hotel it’s not bad. You get what you pay for.
Rooms smelled terrible, my son’s room had a cockroach infestation and he had to be moved, during our second week builders started knocking down walls and leaving dangerous machinery and debris outside our door with bits of concrete dropping down into the children’s pool very disappointing and unsafe with a 4 year old toddler
Advantages: Overall an enjoyable week-long stay at Galeon Playa in Costa Teguise. The hotel is situated in a great location with lovely bars and restaurants a stones throw away. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the beach which makes it desirable for families, friends, couples etc. The hotel has two large and lovely fresh pools with plenty of sunbeds, (although no parasols at the smaller pool on the other side) this is managed well with the pools opening at 9:30am. No one runs to the sunbeds but I would recommend getting there around 9:20 to get your favoured spot. There is a brilliant animation team (led by Jundi) who works extremely hard and is amazing with the kids. There is always something for everyone at breakfast times and we particularly liked being able to use the excellent shower and washing facilities when checking out, this was really useful.
Disadvantages: Extremely disappointing that when we checked in at midnight on arrival the hotel was not able to provide drinking water so I had to walk to a local kebab shop in the early hours. We felt this was really poor considering we had a toddler who was thirsty and the tap water isn’t drinkable. We were in the older part of the hotel which is not yet renovated so though our room was spacious with a big bedroom, bathroom and balcony, the furniture and decor was dated and wearing away in places. We found the hotel to be understaffed. Even though the restaurant staff work tirelessly and are extremely friendly and polite, they could use extra help as we found the staffing teams to be small at breakfast for the amount of guests present. I can’t comment on dinner as we didn’t eat dinner at the hotel. The pool bar staffing was very poor. One member of staff serving and making food with queue wait times in excess of 15/20 minutes just to get a drink. In the height of the summer season this seemed like a huge oversight by the management team and I felt extremely sorry for the poor staff on their own doing all of that work. We also felt the lifeguards were generally ineffective. One of them was sat on his phone for large periods and even appeared to be watching a film on his phone at one point. This was really concerning.
Overall we did enjoy our stay - would we return? Probably not. But thanks to all staff for making our stay comfortable and our 18 month year old daughter loved her first abroad holiday.
Currently here almost at end of an 11 night stay , spacious and clean apartments, foods lovely, friendly staff and great location. Will absolutely return have really enjoyed our stay 😊
