Club Siroco

Good hotel overall, convenient location, friendly welcome and decent facilities but the building work across the road did spoil it.

Rooms were clean, spacious, modern and a good size. We had a higher floor with a great sized balcony, and a sea view, but ground floor rooms had their own sunloungers so I'd request one of those next time.

Staff were all friendly and welcoming, especially in the restaurant. Breakfast was of a good standard, but it did feel a bit repetitive after a few days.

The location is good for a relaxing break. Ten mins walk to the nearest bars and restaurants, a few mins further to the beach and a bigger selection. The main square was about a twenty minutes walk away, but you could jump on a bus 5 mins down the road which drops you right outside or 5 euros in a taxi. Same bus stop for a trip to Arrecife, Teguise Market or Puerto del Carmen.

Downsides were the building work across the road, sunbed hoggers and debris in the pool from the wind.

The building work can't be controlled by the hotel, but we weren't notified of it before travel by Jet2. From our room (317) it was quite loud, especially in the morning from 8am with lots of heavy machinery compacting and drilling the ground / foundations for a new development. Not sure if the wind was carrying the noise over more but it did wake me up several mornings. You can't hear it by the pool much though which was good.

Sunbeds are chained up until around 10am each morning. If you want to bag an umbrella or a good spot, you need to be queued up and ready to go by 9.50am. Lots of people putting towels down and then buggering off for breakfast or a walk then though, and leaving them for most of the morning. Signs say towels will be removed after 30 mins but we never saw that happen.

We'd return to the hotel once the building work has finished, if we got a good deal, but don't underestimate how noisy it could be.

Lovely hotel rooms are great ( serenity side) very clean location is great for us. Confusion over room on arrival I was given a second floor room. I request on booking and email siroco to request ground floor due to health issues. Was told no ground floor available but we could wait. We arrived around 12. Within an hour I was told our ground floor room was ready. Fantastic service I couldn’t praise the staff enough. We paid for a safe unfortunately it wasn’t working but again service was fantastic and all was fixed very quickly. We had yet another fantastic holiday and siroco is our hotel of choice. We can’t wait to return.

Great hotel in a nice quiet location, arrived with our two mid twenties sons, we stayed in the Serenity side which was worth the extra cost, not the same rush to get the sunbeds in the morning and not as busy. The rooms do not have air conditioning but there is always a breeze blowing through the rooms if you keep the patio doors and windows open. I am coeliac so the buffet breakfast was a challenge for me, some of the food is marked as having no gluten but after asking the chef to double check, the porridge and corn flakes etc have traces of gluten in them so be aware of that if you are have an allergy to gluten. I wasnt 100% confident that the staff were fully trained on coeliac gluten allergy. The kitchen staff went out of their way to help me in the mornings although was first in line each morning to ensure no cross contamination occurred. Would we go back there? Absolutely, but we had a car for the full duration of the holiday and mopeds a day also so were able to travel all over the island from a nice quiet base. There is some noise from construction work across the road but very tolerable. Overall a great base for your holiday.
