Beatriz Costa and Spa

After reading reviews i was concerned about our stay, but there was no need to be worried. It wasn't perfect but it was exactly what we needed for a girls long weekend. We stayed half board which was enough. The food was what you would expect from a buffet, not sure how many say it was cold as the meat us freshly made and they were always topping up the buffet. Drinks were not badly priced - we paid €9 for 2 baileys. You can pay cash/card or charge to your room. Rooms - basic. Lovely bathroom with a double sink and decent shower. Beds were comfy but only has 1 pillow. Didnt really rate the maid as she took the plastic prosecco glasses i took with me (no idea why as those glasses are not even available at the hotel) she didnt replace the hand towels and the beds were made once in 4 days. They provide a kettle which us a bit pointless as they only leave paper cups which they do not replace. No other tea/coffee making facilities. Rooms are not sound proof. We could hear the entertainment clear as day until 11pm so dont expect an early night.

The location is great. About a mile walk to the main promenade, inclined walking back so maybe not for something with difficulties. Costa Teguise itself is very accessible. Plenty of mobilitiy hire places.

The pool is lovely. Never struggled to find a sunbed. Changing cubicles and the toilet close to the pool.

Overall we had a lovely stay and wohld return. The staff were friendly and so helpful. Thank you

Reading the review I went with an open mind. We hired a car so made our own way. Easy to find and to park. Only 20 mins maybe little less from the airport. Check in was easy and staff very friendly and helpful. We were located in room 310. The room was very spacious with 2 big comfy bed pushed together. Decor dated but it was clean with a lovely balcony. The aircon in the room was great until the last night. Although the following day there were notices saying about test being done. Kettle in the room but no tea bags or coffee. But you can get these from the pool bar. Fridge good size.

Pool was lovely. Huge, so never on top of one another and sunbeds never a problem what ever time of day. However I can imagine high season might be different. Sunbeds have seen better days and there were some newer ones dotted about which were better. We had our own towels but you can hire some for a deposit. Animation team were great and put a lot of work into what they did. Pool area was kept clean however guests do need to learn to put rubbish in the bins which are all around the pool.

Food was mainly served in the main buffet restaurant. Breakfast was nice and what you would expect. Lunch here was ok but we only ate there once. Pool bar had a nice selection of snack bits and you can make rolls with cheese. Pizza and chips always available. Again people did make comments about being restocked. They did their best with this but again people would take half the pizza that was put out so was hard to keep up. We did notice a lot of guest taking more than they would eat. Drinks are typical AI. You pay €1 for the cup which you do get back when you finish your holiday. We just put it in the tip jar. People did use their own which staff seem to fill up no problem. Water is on tap in all bars and you can freely fill your water bottles.
Dinner was a let down. Apart from the freshly cooked stuff ‘show cooking’ they did seem to have trouble keeping food warm let alone hot. It’s not the worst but certainly not the best I have had.
Location is about 15-20 min walk. Coming back is a little uphill. There is a free bus but not sure on times. We had a car for time we stayed so we’re able to get out and about all over the island.

Overall we had an enjoyable stay. Staff work hard, cleaners reception, restaurant and bar staff. Sadly I think guests let it down and then blame the staff. I saw the lifeguard clearing away a used nappy from under a sunbed!!!

Be careful when booking there are two Beatrix one by the beach and this one which is about 20 mins away from the main resort shops and supermarkets tucked at the back of the resort next to the open land which leads up into the volcano areas. On arrival had to wait until 3pm for the room we arrived late morning. Drinks were available once you got your wristband but be aware you pay 2 euros for two plastic glasses which they change every time you go for a drink you will get your 2 euros back when you hand in your plastic glasses. Safe is also charged at around 4 Euros per day 40 Euros for 10 day stay. Some of the staff are fine but found some very unhelpful especially in pool bar very unfriendly except for one young female who sang pleasantly all the time. Sun beds are excellent always available but very close together. When we arrived in the room there was no water coffee or tea went to reception and told they do not supply these items in the room yet there was a kettle. This is difficult on first day has there are no shops nearby and most of the shops in the hotel ie salons sports bars were closed. Tip buy two bottles of water once you have used it keep filling your bottles up for the room at the pool bar or restaurant. We were put in what they call superior rooms which just meant they had been painted and wardrobe fronts taken out. Room is very basic. Food very Spanish theme but plenty to choose from recommend the roasts when they do them. Breakfasts excellent wines will be charged for at evening meals local sangria beers are free from taps near coffee machines. Restaurant staff excellent friendly and at tentative clearing tables very quickly Taxis will cost you around 5 to 6 euros from hotel down into the main resort they seem to go a longer way around this may be down to one way systems. Return taxis can be a bit of a pain there is a long line of people normally waiting market day can be really hard to get a taxi from and to the hotel this is on Sunday. Pool area very big pool but could do with thorough clean We had a power outage at 5am in the morning which woke us up went to reception and they advised me it was Lanzarote wide yet when we looked off our balcony he lights were in in the resorts. The hotel reminds me of a luxury hotel built in the 70s which has never really progressed or been maintained so it is dated If you want to be tucked away and take kids it would be ideal they do have evening entertainment SPA facilities were dodgy no Turkish bath it had broken down this was the main reason I booked. Sauna will cost you a further 10 euros per person Never found the advertised indoor pool Did get a feeling some of the staff did not like he English Hotel did send me up small bottle of CAVA to my room for my 70th which was a nice touch Very big hotel good for kids and basic amenities. Recommend the hotel looks at its facilities in the rooms especially daily water coffee and tea put it on the price of the holiday.
