Disgraceful customer service
Zero stars for customer service – an incredibly disappointing stay I genuinely don't understand how this hotel has so many excellent reviews. Perhaps I've simply been exceptionally unlucky, or perhaps those guests never had to deal with the customer service here. Unfortunately, my experience has been diabolical. From the start, it's been one problem after another. The air conditioning in my first room wasn't working properly. I couldn't be moved and was given a fan instead. I was eventually moved to another room where the air conditioning worked, but it was freezing and the temperature control made no difference. There were then a few smaller issues, including a broken room telephone and problems arranging laundry. None of these things would normally bother me, but what frustrated me was the complete lack of ownership. Instead of simply taking care of things, I repeatedly found myself being sent back and forth multiple times between my room and reception to resolve issues that should have been dealt with by the hotel. To be fair, the young lady from Guest Experience has been excellent. She has listened, been polite and taken notes. Unfortunately, listening and taking notes isn't the same as actually resolving problems. Then came the final straw. The hotel's bar/restaurant advertises that it opens at 12pm. Shortly after 12, I went in and asked if I could order a pizza to take back to my room. I was told I had to order room service and pay an additional charge. When I pointed out that I was standing right there in the restaurant, I was then told the kitchen didn't open until 1pm. I pointed out that the hotel's own website says it opens at 12pm. In frustration, given i have had issues daily, I commented that the barman couldn't have been more useless. His response? “I'm just doing my job, you a**hole.” There is absolutely no excuse for a member of hotel staff speaking to a paying guest like that. This is ultimately what has ruined my impression of the hotel. Not one major problem, but a series of small issues combined with a complete lack of customer service and ownership when things go wrong. Maybe I've simply been unlucky. Maybe the many positive reviews reflect experiences completely different from mine. But based on my stay, I would not return to Barceló Teguise Beach and I would not recommend it to anyone who expects good customer service. The facilities may be perfectly good, but customer service here is diabolical.

Always an amazing experience coming here. The place just feels like absolute luxury. We are currently our 2nd day in to our trip and it’s lovely, matias keeps us entertained around the pool (the wine and cheese tasting was a firm favourite) this is our 2nd time staying here and couldn’t recommend enough.
3 stars - Cleanliness and WIFI connection needs mproving
We found that the Barceló Teguise Beach hotel had many positive qualities. The food was generally very good quality, with plenty of choice, and the evening and poolside entertainment was also excellent and added greatly to the enjoyment of the stay.
Unfortunately, the poor internet connection had a major impact on my experience. I’m a business owner and regularly need reliable internet access, even when travelling.
However, I couldn’t get a stable connection in my hotel room, the lounge, or any of the communal areas. This was extremely frustrating and made it difficult to complete even basic online tasks. The hotel staff themselves acknowledged that the internet connection was poor, so this appears to be a known issue that urgently needs to be addressed.
There were also several cleanliness concerns. The sunbed umbrellas around the pool were visibly dirty, and glasses sometimes still had lipstick marks on them. More than once, I also picked up a dirty plate in the buffet hall, which was grim. Much more attention needs to be paid to the washing and inspection of dishes, glasses and plates before they’re put out for guests.
Overall, the hotel has strong food and entertainment, but the internet service and cleaning standards need significant improvement.

Second Visit - Still Impressed
Just returned from our second visit to Barcelo Teguise Beach and it was every bit as good as the first.
Despite arriving late (around 9pm), we were greeted by friendly staff and a chilled glass of cava, a lovely welcome after travelling. Check‑in was quick and efficient, and we were in our room within 15–20 minutes.
We were shown to our room by the helpful concierge, and Room 2025 was where we spent our stay. Wow, what a room. Spacious, spotlessly clean, a huge comfortable bed, iron and ironing board provided, and the highlight: a hot tub on the balcony with a full pool view. Absolutely perfect.
We travelled half board, and the food offering was fantastic. Breakfast included cava each morning, and the evening show‑cooking stations were great. There really is something for everyone, and everything was plentiful.
This was our first time travelling in peak summer, so we were a little nervous about how busy it might be, but we needn’t have worried. We never struggled to get a seat in the restaurant or a sunbed in the morning and even better - no rushing down at the crack of dawn, which was a pleasant surprise.
The only slight disappointment was on our final day, as we couldn’t keep our room due to the hotel being fully booked — understandable, but still a bit inconvenient with a late flight. We were offered a free 30‑minute courtesy room to shower and freshen up, which was appreciated, though a little longer would have made things easier for two people. First‑world problems, I know!
Overall, we absolutely love this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended for anyone considering booking.

Lovely adults only hotel
Lovely hotel and location, went for just a 4 day break with my wife and thoroughly enjoyed it,easy check in with a glass of cava on arrival, nice friendly staff throughout, restaurants served a bit of everything, plenty of choice, was never a problem getting a sunbed,very quiet and relaxing by the pool, evening entertainment was okay but didn't bother us really as we were there for a chill out, went outside the hotel every night for a walk,really pleasant areas and quiet busy,definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for an adult only option, already booked twice for next year 😊
