TripAdvisor Review
Good hotel

shame about lack of sunbeds and scaremongering of people online to make others rush for sunbeds. Kids entertainment was great and food good especially for all inclusive resort. I would come to stay again, although maybe not during peak summer, ants lizards and cockroaches are not my thing.

Overall good

Positives ✅

  • 15 mins transfer time
  • 5 mins from Costa teguise square or 25/30min walk which has a beach and plenty restaurants
  • Staff very pleasant/friendly/helpful
  • beautiful lobby area, plenty space to relax
  • x2 buffet restaurants with a good variety of food and well replenished during busy times and good choice of pool snacks of the pool bar
  • Activities for all the family and great gym facilities
  • good day and night entertainment
  • comfortable bed in room, cleanliness of room was good throughout our stay, nice pool/sea view, good size balcony terrance
  • reasonable selection of spirits and drinks for AL

Negatives/improvements needed ❗️

  • disappointing that no restaurants are included in the Al inclusive which we were not aware of prior to booking
  • pool cleanliness was really poor, lots of hair, tissues and debris throughout the day
  • sun beds covered in bird poo, not hosed down over light, sticky drinks tables not cleaned
  • unclear pool rules, board states no lilo but doesn’t state that children can’t have floats, this is extremely poor when they are selling them in the shops attached to the hotel
  • toilets dirty, not regularly maintained, toilet paper empty and soap dispensers empty on a number of occasions, some toilets do not lock, smelly drains (these are basic things that need maintaining)
  • lack of sun-beds for hotel guests, constant fight to get a sun-beds everyday, such a shame for guests
  • beach located at the back has warning signs not to use at present due to contamination, we were not made aware of this by the hotel or airline

Overall we enjoyed our stay, unlikely To return but never say never.

Thank you Barcelo Active

Good experience, would come here again!

We spent 10 days at the resort. The food was pretty good for an all inclusive and it was even good for my partner who has celiac disease so she can’t have gluten. The labels on the food were clear and we could order gluten free stuff for the meals such as pizza and pasta. The staff were really nice especially Julio at the breeze pool bar who was very friendly and accommodating. Also a shout out to Diego from the entertainment who made an effort to get to know guests and even managed to get us involved in some activities. Would definitely come here again, really good experience!

Rubbish Hotel AVOID!!

Bad stay from start to finish. We upgraded to the royal level, and what a waste of money that was. The tea/coffee in the room didn’t get replenished once in our week stay, fridge didn’t keep anything cold. And don’t bother trying to complain, because it falls on deaf ears. Also when trying to talk to ‘Alberto’ about our issues, he answered the phone mid complaint. Rude is an understatement. The food is basically the same cold slop everyday, whichever place you eat in, pasta over cooked and sticky, meat undercooked, even the basics such as chips tasted like they’d been sat there a week, even if you arrive as soon as they open, you would honestly get better meals spending a week in prison. There is no beach like stated on their website, just massive rocks.. you can’t even get to the sea! The ‘free’ bikes look like something from the 70s. There is little to no entertainment and absolutely no holiday atmosphere throughout any of the hotel. The pools are freezing, and the one heated one, you have to be minimum 140cm to touch the floor in the smallest area and then it drops to 180cm. The mini golf is in a sweat box room that you get charged extra for and just isn’t worth the money. You are literally smacking bang in the middle of no mans land, not enough sun-beds to accommodate the hotel and you have to queue and run to get one each morning. All in all avoid and don’t waste your money!!

Decent Family Hotel

Family of 4, with 2 kids aged 9 and 11 staying for a week at the “basic” side, all inclusive.

There is two sides to this hotel, split across a road. Royal Level is on the sea side. Both sides have big pool areas and pool bars.

There is a Hyperdino supermarket on site, which was actually reasonably priced.

Initial impressions of the hotel were excellent, however as the week this dropped slightly.

ROOMS:- Clean, spacious, plenty storage which was a surprise. Clean towels daily. Rooms got pretty hot at night and air con was a bit noisey on max setting.

POOL AREA:- Beds around the pool are shut off until 0900, however, there were beds away from the pool which seemed to be available from whenever. It was a bit “sun bed dash” to claim one by the pool each morning. So be prepared to queue around 0840-0845 to be sure to get one by the actual pool.

The pool bar on our side was ok. Food was good (chicken wings/nuggets/burgers/salads, etc). However, there was always queues to get served. It was nothing drastic but just nippy, max 5-10 mins waiting. There was a drinks machine and beer tap to help yourself but it never seemed to work - which could have saved a lot on people queuing.

The pool bar on the other side seemed to be a bit better - same options but able to help yourself.

FOOD:- Food was very decent I found. Usual breakfast options (cooked/pancakes/churros/yogurt/cereal etc). Different theme for lunches/dinners each night. Something there for everyone. There was one night where I struggled, however, was able to get a pizza, haha.

ENTERTAINMENT:- Team (who were very nice) round the pool there encouraging people to take part in aqua aerobics, water polo etc. There was a kids club for younger children. The daytime activities for my kids age, seemed to be a bit lacking. They did play volleyball/football which kept them happy for about 30 mins.

Evening entertainment was average - not sure if this was for both sides (ours and Royal Level). Kids disco, and then a show. We went into Costa Teguise a few evenings and didn’t really see much to be fair. All the entertainment is in the main entrance / court yard which was a bit crowded.

The bar on our side of the hotel was a bit disappointing at evening. There is one bar staffed by two people to serve everyone and was always a long queue. A couple extra staff members is all it would take to sort that. We did go over to the Royal Level once which had pool tables and stuff, it was quite nice.

GYM:- If you like a workout on your holiday, you will not be disappointed here. Probably the best gym I’ve been to when on a family holiday. A lot of equipment and very spacious. Was quite impressed with it.

LOCATION:- Very quick taxi drive to Costa Teguise (€4-€5). Would be about 30 min walk.

OVERALL:- Good food, nice rooms, decent gym, and to be fair the hotel was very decent enough. I think the Royal Level side seems a bit better. One thing I will say, and this is not the hotels fault (haha), was the wind. Be prepared for it. It was very, very windy!
