This comfortable hotel boasts a magnificent location, overlooking the beautiful Reducto beach and within a short stroll from Arrecife's town centre in Lanzarote. This property's position is one the best in the whole island, as it is just in front of a sandy beach with shallow waters and plenty of convenient services for a pleasant stay. Sightseeing attractions such as Charco de San Ginés, Punta de la Largarta and Puerto Naos are also within easy reach from the premises. The smartly decorated guest rooms enjoy a wide range of modern facilities and most of them have a balcony with nice views. Guests can keep updated during their stay thanks to the free wireless Internet connection throughout and they can pamper themselves at the excellent facilities including a bar that serves delicious cocktails and an interior Canarian-style patio.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Great hotel. Fantastic location. Staff were amazing especially the young pretty lady on reception who was very kind and amenable. Rooms extremely clean and serviced everyday during our stay. The bed was very very comfortable with fresh bed linen most days. TV in room and always a hot shower. Fresh towels available everyday. We didn’t have food during our stay but did see that the dining room and food area was immaculately kept and very well organised. Would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.
Stayed here from 21st December after my wife was rushed to hospital from our Marella Cruise Ship when it docked, booked 2 nights initially until we found out what was happening but had to extend by 1 more night, however i had to extend a further 2 nights and then another 2 as my wife condition deteriorated.
The managers and all reception staff were excellent in this, especially as it was an extremely busy time of year but managed to find cancellations to accommodate me as they were aware of my reasons to need a hotel close to the hospital.
Room 307 at the back of the Hotel was very clean and spacious the only problem was the safe did not work, i spoke to a lady on reception who came to look but also found it didn’t work, she tried 3 other empty rooms but all those safes didn’t work either even after battery changes, this meant i had to take all my personal things like monkey, passport etc with me all the time, so this needs to be addressed.
Only other negative was the lady at breakfast, she was very unfriendly, each day i went to breakfast she would take my room number to see if i had paid for breakfast and seemed quite disappointed That i had. However 1 day of my extension it had been missed In error by whoever extended my room and she took great pleasure in marching me to reception where it was corrected, this was just another unnecessary stress i didn’t need and quite embarrassing, so needs to be addressed.
All in though this is a great Hotel with an excellent location on the seafront and even at a very busy festive time was incredibly reasonably priced.
I will return in better circumstances for a holiday and highly recommend the Hotel Check in Diamar.
We stayed here over the 3 Kings Holiday, the staff are very welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean, we booked a sea view room and we had a great view and lovely balcony. There was no iron or kettle in the room but I asked reception for these and they were sent up straight away. I found the bed very hard but that’s just my opinion. I would definitely return, it was great value and I would highly recommend.
The room was decent and clean. You definitely want a sea view. The hotel is well located right on the beach. The area is a great location for watching the sunset. However the thing that really made my stay was the staff. In particular, Harry and Maria were brilliant. Both super helpful. I'd definitely stay again.
My husband and I ended up in the Hotel Diamar on 24 th December for a few nights. This was because my husband took ill on a cruise ship, was admitted to the public hospital in Lanzarote, and was finally allowed to join me in the hotel, while still being treated with antibiotics.
So this was not a good situation for us. I was distressed, as I was upset about what was happening to my husband, and I was not coping with the stress of the whole situation.
Firstly, I'd like to say that Alex and Rafael, on reception (Sorry if I have spellings wrong) were very pleasant and helpful - they are both a credit to the hotel.
However, on Christmas eve, I was in a position where I needed food for us, after a difficult day spent in the public hospital in Lanzarote. I could not get food in Arrecife, as places were shut for the Christmas period. The hotel could not offer any food at all, although local Spanish families were enjoying a Christmas buffet. I was unable to obtain any food for us at all. Alex just apologised. I became very upset later, as we'd had no food all day, due to the distressing day it had been (I was not sure at that point how ill my husband would become. Food had not been a priority earlier in the day when the hospital was assessing my husband's health).
By the time food was a priority, I could not get us any....
So I'd like to point out that when people are placed in hotels by insurance companies, the chances are they are going through a difficult experience and not something of their choosing - some help with food on Christmas eve would have been so welcoming for us. I was able to purchase a cup of tea in the cafe at the front of hotel. I was obviously distressed by then, something that both the abrupt waitress in the cafe and the local Spanish families managed to ignore completely - Christmas "love and peace to all" was definitely missing.....
Having said all of that, both Alex and Rafael were very helpful during the rest of our stay there, before we were moved by the insurance company to another hotel (my husband was ill for quite a few weeks, and still had to recover fully when we got home - his recovery took months).
Alex and Rafael are a definite credit to this hotel. Their pleasant manner helped me a lot at a very difficult time, and the three stars I've given are really for them.
