The views from Blue17 on the 17th floor are fantastic, and the restaurant on the first floor where breakfast and buffet are served daily also well worth a visit. The hotel is very clean, well maintained, and in a great location for both walking and accessing public transport. The only minor downside is the underground parking, which is available at €10 per night. The staff are hardworking, friendly, and consistently provide excellent service. A special mention to Patricia, who was always wore a welcome smile and was helpful during our stay. We also really appreciated being able to use the pool and showers while waiting for our transfer and flight. It’s a small touch, but it made our experience even better.
first the positive, The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location and views were good but the rest was poor. Beds were very uncomfortable , my wife got up in the night and slept on the settee as bed was to hard and the breakfast was awful ( I had seen a review beforehand stating this but thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt) as its supposed to be a 5* hotel and you would expect certain levels to meet with this rating rooms were cheap looking a dull. I would never return to this hotel unless there were major changes made and felt it was a waste of money sorry for bad review but you cannot rest on past reputation you need to keep moving onwards .
Great location very helpful &polite staff . The food was really nice and the room was outstanding . Beautiful stunning hotel really hope I get the opportunity to go back .
Spent a lovely week here in May. The hotel was excellent, our room was very clean and well appointed. It is a few feet away from a spotless public beach and within easy walking distance of the Marina and the Open Mall. The employees really make the place what it is, they are friendly, genuine and very professional. We had half board and the food was very good, plenty of variety and well presented. Of all the staff Michael Parra deserves a special mention, a first class employee. We had a dinner in the hotel's Alarz restaurant which we thought was excellent, again the service was professional and personable. It was my wife's birthday during our stay and Sophie on reception noticed this when we checked in... we were very pleasantly surprised that the hotel made it very special for her with a cake and some fizz! Special thanks also to Mafer (especially for her recommendations about visiting her home country ), Estefania and Anabelle. Highly recommended.
We stayed at the Arrecife Gran Hotel & Spa in April 2026 as part of a package holiday and, unfortunately, our experience ended on a very disappointing note. On the morning of our departure, while packing and sitting on the bed, we discovered multiple bedbugs in the bed. This was extremely distressing, particularly as both of us had suffered multiple bites during our stay without realising the cause at the time. We immediately reported the issue to hotel reception before leaving and later raised a formal complaint through our holiday provider, easyJet Holidays. While the issue was acknowledged, we were offered no practical assistance at the time and received very little information about what action was taken by the hotel following our report. We initially tried to keep this matter private, as we wanted to resolve it fairly and directly through the hotel and holiday provider without needing to post a public review. However, despite repeated contact over a prolonged period, we did not receive clear or timely responses. Even after accepting easyJet Holidays’ reimbursement offer for our additional costs, we have still not received payment or any further update, and several of our follow-up queries remain unanswered. The discovery had a significant impact on us after returning to the UK. Due to concerns about bringing bedbugs into our home, we incurred additional expenses, including an overnight hotel stay and urgent laundering of our belongings. We also had to take time away from work while dealing with the situation and ensuring our home and possessions were protected from possible contamination. What has been most disappointing is what happened afterwards. More than two months have now passed since the incident and neither the hotel nor easyJet Holidays has made much effort to properly address our concerns. Throughout the complaint process, responses were often delayed by several weeks at a time, and despite repeatedly requesting information, we were never provided with meaningful details regarding the investigation or what action was taken. EasyJet Holidays eventually agreed to reimburse some of our direct expenses, but no compensation or partial refund was offered in relation to the accommodation itself, despite the seriousness of the issue experienced in a five-star hotel. We were left feeling that the focus was on closing the complaint rather than fully addressing it. I appreciate that bedbugs can occur in any hotel and that no property is completely immune. However, what matters is how these situations are handled. In our case, we were disappointed not only by the discovery itself but also by the lack of transparency, urgency, and customer care shown afterwards. The hotel has positives, including its location, views, and facilities. Unfortunately, these were overshadowed by our experience and the handling of the issue once it was reported. Based on our experience, we would not stay at the Arrecife Gran Hotel & Spa again and would not recommend it to others.
