Abora Interclub Atlantic

We had a lovely holiday, the staff were very friendly and brilliant with our 8 month old. The hotel is very clean, pools clean and lovely! We had a double room, with a travel cot provided by the hotel, the cot side broke on the first night but the staff swapped it straight away, quick and lovely service. It was a nice atmosphere with daily activities and music, fab amenities for kids with the splash park and play area, they didn’t have any swings etc so our little one couldn’t play on there. The food was nice but not much variety at all, we ended up eating out quite abit to get something different. Snack bar was good in the day, but again the same thing but not bad. We really enjoyed our first family holiday abroad and it’s a short walk away from the beach (it is an uphill walk back) or a max £5 euro taxi, they do offer a bus shuttle service too! Evening entertainment wasn’t great, it was cancelled quite abit whilst we were there for technical issues but then they would do a quiz or bingo on the same night using the same equipment and it was fine? So not sure what that was about. They have an arcade which is good but is an additional cost, same for pool tables etc. All in all, a great place for our first family holiday abroad.

I've just got back from a solo week at the Abora Interclub Atlantic and honestly can't fault the hotel or its people. First and foremost, the staff.

Every single one, reception, the kitchen team, the servers clearing tables, and the housekeepers, was warm, polite and genuinely considerate.

At each mealtime the team would be lined up to welcome you in as the restaurant opened, often with a bit of music or entertainment, which started every day on a high.

Housekeeping were always happy to work around you in the mornings. There's the occasional language barrier, but they always made the effort, more than I managed with my Spanish!

The food was excellent. Breakfast, lunch and dinner all opened right on time, everything was fresh, and there was plenty of it. The snack bars ran 11am to 11pm and were always kept topped up.

The whole resort was spotlessly clean and the facilities were fantastic. The pools looked beautiful and well maintained (I didn't swim, but they were gorgeous).

One thing worth knowing for planning: there's a bit of a hill to walk up and down to the resort area, so factor that in if mobility's a consideration.

I stayed in one of the Master Suites, which sit in their own little "village" of suites at the far end of the resort, a little apart from the main hotel.

It's a genuine two-bedroom suite and superbly equipped: two terraces with four sun loungers and a private jacuzzi on one of them; a sitting room with a 42-inch TV, mini fridge and Wi-Fi; a twin-sink bathroom with a rainfall shower; air-conditioning in both bedrooms, with a shared remote; a safe; and two large, well-spaced wardrobes. Spacious and comfortable — honestly better suited to a family than a solo traveller, but I loved the extra room.

As there don't seem to be many photos or videos of these suites online, I've added some to help other travellers.

I had a couple of very minor issues during the week, and reception took each one seriously and sorted them without fuss.

Finally, a special mention for Paco, who was exceptional from beginning to end. He replied to my emails quickly before I'd even arrived, was unfailingly polite and understanding, and went out of his way to help, even with a booking matter that wasn't the hotel's responsibility. Welcoming and supportive throughout. A real credit to the hotel. Thank you, Paco. I'd happily return and can highly recommend it.
