5/5 - Fantastic stay at Gloria Palace San Agustín Thalasso & Hotel*
We had an amazing stay at Gloria Palace San Agustín. The thalasso spa was the absolute highlight — the seawater pools and treatments were so relaxing. Our room was spacious, very clean, and had beautiful ocean views. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the buffet had a great variety with excellent food. Perfect location right on San Agustín beach. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable holiday.
I recently stayed at Gloria Palace San Agustín and, overall, it was an okay experience, but there were several things that could definitely be improved. The food was your typical hotel buffet. It wasn’t terrible but not something to shout home about. The room cleaning was decent and the hotel was generally kept clean, so I can’t really complain about that. Unfortunately, the evening entertainment was very disappointing to the point I thought I could do a better job (the only good one was the MJ impersonator) . The pool being salt water wasn’t ideal for us, and there wasn’t really a proper shallow area for younger children, which may be something families want to consider. Another downside was the daily “sun bed wars” Many guests reserved sun beds early in the morning (sometimes in the evening), making it difficult to find one later in the day. Overall, the hotel was okay and the cleanliness was good, but the food, entertainment, expensive drinks and pool layout means I wouldn’t stay here again. (Also note the WiFi is terrible)
We stay from 18 to 25 July 2026. We were a group of four adults and a 7-month-old baby, staying in two rooms. Unfortunately, our holiday was seriously affected by what appears to have been a lack of proper food hygiene.
Halfway through our stay, one member of our group developed severe gastroenteritis and had to be taken to the local health centre's emergency department. The following day, another person started vomiting, and then others in our group also became ill with vomiting. While we cannot prove the source, several members of the same group becoming sick one after another is very concerning, and the hotel should urgently review its food handling and hygiene standards.
To make matters worse, we found cockroaches in both of our rooms on the second day of our stay, which was completely unacceptable for a hotel of this standard.
The staff were always friendly and helpful, but that alone cannot make up for the hygiene issues we experienced. The evening entertainment was also very disappointing—every night it consisted mainly of music, with very little variety or different activities.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The hotel needs to take food safety, cleanliness and pest control much more seriously.
Brilliant second time there & doesn't disappoint, autism friendly hotel, the only thing is he is a really picky eater so that was difficult my only suggestion would be a little selection of plain finger food as most of the foods had a sauce or herbs. but my husband & other son loved it. Will be booking again for next July ❤️ rooms perfect & very clean as always 👌
