This excellent hotel boasts breathtaking views over the harbour, the bay and out to the open sea from its elevated position in Puerto Rico on the southwestern coast of the holiday island of Gran Canaria. It features 2 outdoor pools, a sports centre, kid's club, restaurant and various bars. The Europa Shopping Centre is situated right next to the hotel; the next beach is within walking distance.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Would not travel to risol again 300 euro worth of stuff robbed by cleaners from our locked apartment. Items including prescription medication which is extremely dangerous for me to miss! When we confronted reception they said theyd look into it. After a whole 10 hours we still hadnt heard anything from reception, and they refused to help. hotel manager refused to help or offer any assistance we ended up traveling to the police station to make a statement. We lost 2 days of our holidays due to this and the hotel was nothing but unprofessional and denied accountability. THE MEDICATION WAS LEFT BESIDE MY BED. If i had not packed spares i would have ended up in hospital for the rest of vacation!
DO NOT STAY HERE THEY ARE ROBBERS AND EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL
Location is at the very top off a mountian so if you have and disabilitys i wouldnt recoment this hotel but the veiws were beautiful. Atmosphere was very chilled out and every one speeks and is friendly tho the bar staff were a little moody at times.rooms had no aircon and two fans insted they blew warm air at you l it was very hard to sleep being asmatic this caused me to struggle we also didnt have a balcney or any were to sit out side are room as it was just a we walk way into are room the showers were grubby also and water ended tp all over the place. Value was a little expance as we got there with having no aircon and a lot off stuff supposex to be all inclusive there wasnt a great selection off drinks you get the cheapest off every thing and have to pay for every thing elce also the upper pool charged 25 euro per person to lye from 11 to 6 it was not included in the all inclusive package any thing to squezze exta money out off you they done it.
The activity and animations team (Alex) was amazing they kept everyone happy and engaged with us and tried even when he found it hard was a pleasure to have him during the day, during water sports and activities at night time. A pleasure to have him as a friend and part of the holiday
Today is my last day here. I’ve had a lovely holiday. This hotel has lots of lovely attributes. I’ve been self catering so can’t comment on the restaurant facilities but my room has a few wee bits and bobs I didn’t expect it to have. There is shower gel, shampoo, washing up liquid, a tea towel and a sponge for cleaning the dishes. All of which I’ve always had to purchase myself on past holidays ( even on an all inclusive basis). The hotel is beautiful, as are the rooms. Certainly it’s a bit tricky to find your room in the first instance but once you get your bearings it’s all sorted. The views from all rooms are fabulous. As a self catering guest there is a snack bar beside the main restaurant which has a nice choice for lunches and the staff are very attentive and welcoming. Would I visit again? Yes, without hesitation. It’s high up on the mountainside and it’s a real challenge to get downtown on foot but the taxis are very regular at the nearby shopping centre at a cost of €8-9 per journey. Thank you to the staff for making my stay so enjoyable.
Honestly the only positive thing about this hotel is the location & the views you get. Unfortunately my stay here was not great. We had multiple issues with our room, bathroom ceiling was leaking, didn’t have hot water in the kitchen then we didn’t have cold water in the shower. There is a serious problem with ants inside the apartments & flies in the bathroom. We raised concerns to the hotel about the bathroom ceiling leaking which we were advised we would have to move room ( Also the shower was hanging off the wall) We got placed at the very bottom of the hotel & I explained to staff how this did not suit us due to personal issues & other reasons. Staff brushed this off and kept repeating this is your new room, no other rooms available. This was then another red flag if any other guests experienced what we did and they had to move room where would they place them if there was no other rooms? Anyway the Sun loungers are a joke & the pool is always busy meaning if you want to have the chance at getting a Sun lounger or a swim you either have to up at 7am and Que or pay €25 to utilities the adult pool which is beyond crazy. Charging staying customers so they can have the chance to enjoy a swimming pool and Sun lounger is just wow. To top this all off we were offered no compensation in regards to the issues we faced at the hotel, not even a drink at the bar unfortunately the staff shrugged there shoulders & genuinly gave a don’t care attitude. Overall would not recommend & will not be back
