Nice hotel let down lethal pool tiles and pigeon contamination
Nice classics junior suites, reception staff very nice. Buffet plentiful with lots of choice, not fine dining but you don’t go hungry, it is though very noisy. Rooms were serviced every day we had glass rings on our coffee table for 2 days so seems concentration is bathroom and beds, generally satisfied with room cleanliness. However not so the outdoor eating spaces. The semi open room would be very pleasant were it not for pigeons they walk over clean napkins and cutlery and leave droppings on tables. People are unaware that a seemingly clean table has been contaminated by pigeons. The tables are only wiped down with damp cloths, not sprayed, I did ask what was on the cloth and was told water.. Mind you it would to make any difference as the pigeons walk over everything. We took anti bac wipes and collected our own cutlery and napkins from dumb waiter. As soon as a table is vacated the pigeons swoop in numbers. It might be remedied by netting the open upper areas. The pools were lovely but walking around was lethal, I am very elderly and experienced nearly falling twice, it would have been disasterous!! I could only go to and from the pool with a member of my family taking my arm. We would not go to this hotel again because of the pool situation and the health hazard of the ubiquitous pigeons

We’ve been coming to Puerto Rico for 17yrs now. We watched puerto azul being refurbished, so this year we decided to spend our 5 week vacation there. We can honestly say it was our best vacation yet. So clean and well kept, the food was lovely such a huge variety the staff were very respectful and polite. The entertainment was A+++ for adults and children. The management was amazing (Daniel, Andrew and Marco) they all do an excellent job of running this beautiful hotel. Our room was cleaned everyday, they are all really nice especially Yuneidy so full of smiles and seeing her in the mornings would brighten up anyone’s day, she’s amazing. Reception staff also friendly and supportive. We celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary there too and we’ll be back for another 5 weeks next year. Thank you everyone at puerto azul you helped make our stay here an amazing one. Roger & Lisa Preston.

Entertainment 5*
The entertainment team was incredible!!! They put their heart and souls into the performances and entertaining the children throughout the whole day. I came with a friend without children but you can see they love what they do. The hotel downfall was really the lack of extras we got as we paid all inclusive plus and we didn’t really get anything more. Hearing guests arrived and had bottles of wine in their room, we didn’t receive anything.
Food choices are amazing, cannot fault.
