The hotel that needs tweaked.
Went on the 4th-15th October 26, such a shame that the food and evening entertainment wasn’t great. Having the one restaurant is difficult to please everyone, but on one particular evening the choice of goat, rabbit and a bloody pork leg carvery wasn’t too my taste. There was a grill which was always the same. Evening entertainment was particularly poor. Good points: staff were excellent, rooms were great, drinks were good quality. We were in room 1513 and the views were amazing.,would we go back, sadly no. Variety is the spice of life and this hotel lacks it. Breakfast and lunches were ok but after the sun went down it was a bit like a nursing home .

Gloria Palace hotel
Great location excellent staff food rooms cleanliness and very quiet. Fully recommended its our 3rd visit and met multiple people who are also returning multiple times

A weeks bed and breakfast in October at The Gloria Palace Royal Hotel and Spa
We have just returned from a weeks stay on a bed and breakfast format at the Gloria Palace Royal Hotel and Spa. The Hotels' location is the best in Amadores in our opinion - high up on the North side of the cliff facing south. A 'Willy Wonka' glass lift takes you to street level leaving a 5 minute walk to our favourite beach on Gran Canaria. Most rooms have a great view toward the beach and sea. We would say the rooms need a refurbishment- fixtures and fittings are dated and tired probably not updated since build in 2008. Our balcony was massive- lovely for watching the sun set . The buffet breakfast is great in a long breakfast area looking out to the beach. We are vegetarian and there was limited cooked offerings for that diet. The main infinity pool is beautiful, it does however get busy, all sunbeds mostly full by 10am or so. The gym has plenty of machines but they also are aged and dated and all are in need of updating and replacing with modern machines. Room service great- fresh towels and 2 bottles of water daily . Eileen on reception was outstanding, a credit to the Hotel. Patryk on pool entertainment a real asset to this establishment. It's rare to find someone so genuinely warm, friendly and motivated to make the Hotel guests stay the best it can be. So to sum up : the best location in Amadores bar none. Although our review is 4 star, when refurbished it would be 5 star.

Amazing service, needs a refurb
Have to start by saying the staff at this hotel are all 10/10, couldn’t have wanted better service by any of the team - notable shout out to the poolside entertainment team. We had a great stay, you cannot beat the infinity pool and its views - However, the hotel is in need of refurbishment, disappointingly some areas (pool/snack bar and reception/lobby) felt more like leisure centre area than a hotel. It seemed as if the main restaurant had recently been refurbished, I hope they continue this throughout the hotel. The gym was satisfactory and had everything you need for a holiday workout.
Would not recommend the a la carte restaurant - this was the worst meal of our holiday, by far. The main/ buffet restaurant far surpassed this restaurant, Kaia, not worth your time or money.
If the refurbishment continued throughout the hotel, we wouldn’t hesitate to return.
