Third visit to Altamar and never fails to impress, absolutely amazing from start to finish. The staff are absolutely flawless nothing is ever too much trouble and they are so kind and welcoming. Thank you to all the staff again for an amazing visit and many more to come in the future! See you soon!
Great location 5 min walk to Europa center, stunning views from rooms and outdoor restaurant area, best food in any all inclusive we have had in years , our 1st time going as low as 3 star since we where young very pleasant surprise. Beer good wine so so drinkable, spirits local but big measures. Entertainment the usual all inclusive jugglers acrobats, we went out to the Europa center most nights live entertainment in lots of bars great atmosphere. Ps always subbed available at both pools
The views are stunning. The rooms are spacious. The food was okay. Overall good value. The only disappointment as explained below was the late check out.
Requesting late checkout was not pleasant. I had a classic room and classis rooms were not sold out. The first response was they were fully booked. The second response was to upgrade my room tp premium. I personally think the front desk was playing games and was trying milk more money. To me that was a major turn off. They of course will try to defend themselves but my opinion is what it is.
If you are looking beachfront then just be aware the place is on a cliff so need to take a taxi at least back up from the beach.
Great hotel and well catered for families. The kids pool is fantastic with plenty of entertainment. Adam the events guy was brilliant children throughly enjoyed his activities in the pool. All inclusive is great with a good selection of food. Only thing I will criticise is that it would benefit from an actual pool bar and snack bar closer to the kids pool! Parents were having to gather kids up dry them off then walk into the restaurant dressed and dried off to get the benefit of the all inclusive snacks or drinks. This is not an easy task when kids are wanting to stay in the pool but you cant supervise as its out of sight of the kids area.
Fantastic stay at this hotel. Views are amazing. We had a limited sea view, one bed apartment which meant there were some palm trees partially obscuring the view from the terrace. There was a terrace with 2 loungers table and 4 chairs, a parasol and clothes airer. Got the sun until about 615 so could sunbathe there all day. Didn’t use the kitchenette but seemed decent with a filter coffee machine, toaster, kettle, hob, microwave and fridge freezer. Great shower. 2 single beds which were comfy, ceiling fan in bedroom and lounge, air con in lounge which cooled the bedroom as well. Main criticism of room was the sofa bed. Very hard foam and extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. Pool towels are provided. If you want them changed it’s €3 each. Food is excellent and best we have had in 3 star all Inclusive in Spain. Amazing pizzas every day, pasta, grilled meat, salads, BBQ one night, fresh shell on prawns, fish, cheeses. There is an ice cream machine and a sweet ( as in haribo type) selection. Breakfast was good with decent sausage’s and bacon but beans were awful. Loads of pancakes, waffles, churros, pastries, cooked meats, fresh bread. We didn’t try the afternoon snacks but they looked good. Pools were nice, one by the restaurant was no inflatables and quieter but with less spare sun loungers. The other pool was noisier but you could always get a lounger whatever the time of day. Also loads of parasols . Unfortunately they’d turned the bar there into a beauty salon so you had to walk over to the other pool for drinks. The entertainment was decent, different act every night. There was local beer, wine and sangria on tap and some cocktails included along with usual spirits. Fizzy drinks on tap, slush machine and coffee machine. We hired a car and managed to get a parking space at the hotel for 2 of the 3 days, the other day we parked on street down the hill. We used Inauto as they delivered the car to the hotel and didn’t have a minimum hire period like Cicar. Transfer time around 1 hr 15 on the coach. We arrived late at night and apart from a bottle of water in the room there was no food provided, which I’ve never come across before and was disappointing. The lift broke once but was fixed in a few day’s and there are 2 so not a problem
