Good quality accommodation close to the Yumbo centre. Staff friendly and food quality good.
Couple's stay
We are currently staying at the sol barbacan which has some good and not so good points. The rooms are lovely and spacious and well maintained we are in a two bedroom bungalow with a lovely downstairs terrace and roof top solarium which is ideal for us. The staff are brilliant and always busy and welcome you with a smile. Our room is set in the gardens which are kept immaculate and are a pleasure to walk around. We are staying half board and wish we had just booked bed and breakfast, breakfast is ok with the usual mix on offer. Evening meal on the other hand is poor. Not many dishes on offer unless you want to live on salad. Things cooked on the hot plate you are always waiting for and the other dishes always seem to be low or empty and again waiting to be filled and the choices are very limited with pork the choice of meat nearly every day. The most disappointing thing about the hotel is that the main pool is having a refit, this was not mentioned to us when we booked directly with the hotel and not even mentioned on arrival so we have construction noise during the day, there are two other pools to swim in but I think we should have been informed of this work when booking.
Great hotel and friendly staff
Had a fabulous time at this hotel. The rooms were spacious and very clean and well looked after. Great balcony with lovely sun loungers. The food and drinks were great. Our room was ready when we got there - even though we arrived early. The pool was great and no fights for sunbeds - such a chilled hotel. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The animation team were great and our daughters loved the aqua gym - special mention to Carlos, Naira and Max plus Horacio & Jesus in the restaurant and the lovely blonde lady who worked the front bar (sorry can’t recall her name). The local buses and taxis were all great to get you out and about.

Amazing place!
Where do I start with this hotel, from the lovely smiley staff, the amazing maids who visited us everyday without fail or the hard working grounds keepers who keep the hotel looking green and colourful or the spacious roof terrace bungalows that we stayed in. All play a part in giving this hotel a 5 star.
The food at the snack bars we found to be really tasty and value for money. We had the burgers a couple times for a lunch and they tasted delicious and the alcohol/cocktails were also brilliant.
There are three pools within this hotel all for different age groups, the main pool opened on our last couple days and I can confidently say I was the first guest to test the pool. They have done a big refurbishment and the pool looks amazing.
The location of the hotel is also a massive factor, 5 minute taxi from the beach (€4:50) and a 5 minute walk to the YUMBO Centre, this is my family’s 3rd time coming here and mine and my Girlfriends first, I definitely think we will be back in the future.
