Just back after a very relaxing week here. Check in process was easy and arrived after dinner and was told that the restaurant reopens after 2230 so we could get a bite to eat. Lift was a bit slow at first as only one was working in block C but this was fixed the next day however only works if you press the button on the left. Plenty of sunbeds never had an issue of getting sunbeds although some people reserve them. Typical all inclusive breakfast style with freshly made pancakes. For lunch I preferred the snack bar which had burgers Hotdogs toasties chicken nuggets and chips. Dinner I already found something to eat. Puddings were amazing from freshly whipped icecream and chocolate fountains. Bar was open from 10:00-00:00 and had slush puppies included with the all inclusive. I drank a lot of peach schnapps and slush also with my all inclusive I had blue lagoons which were only advertised as all inclusive plus. If you dont ask you don't get. All the bar men were lovely. Entertainment every night which was good. Close to the yumbo centre if you would like something more lively. Nice walk to the beach. Also used the free bus to go to shopping centre and public bus to go to waterpark recommend also booked a boat trip. Good central area. Rooms were basic no fridge however was ideal as a base.
Very pleasant week with family, inc 2 boys 17 & 12. There was enough to keep them busy and happy. Especially the swimming pool and sports court, and pool table in the evenings. Everyone enjoyed the food, always lots of choice and even the fussy eaters found something they liked. Rooms simple and clean. Entertainment was mixed, some singers very good, some not so. Centrally located, Easy walk to beach, shops, weekly market and Irish bars to watch football. Taxi rank right outside. Buses to Las Palmas leave from across the road. 25 minute transfer to/from airport. Very international clientele, lots of Spanish guests, which in my view is a good thing. Special thanks to Patricia from animation team and Giovanni behind the bar.
Due to an attempted break in when staying at the horizonte apartments we left there and booked the last 2 nights left of our holiday here. See review Horizonte Apartments.
Waikiki Hotel was good plenty of sunbeds, food was good alcohol was ok. Rooms clean. If you like branded drinks book the all inclusive premium. When we arrived i tried to book premium for myself but they wanted to charge both of us but my husband only drinks beer so i didnt bother. Hotel was really busy but didnt struggle to get sunbed or table at dinner. Would stay here again.
My wife and I booked a last minute 7 day holiday to Servatur Waikiki for last week and having read a lot of reviews we went without any high expectations. When we got there we could not of been anymore surprised or happier. To begin, we arrived late at night and staff at reception told us they would open the restaurant at ten for us to have a light bite after we had brought our bags to the room and showered. We booked a superior room which was on the 7th floor and had an amazing view overlooking the swimming pool, Block C room 742. The room itself is a little run down yes nut the bathroom was lovely and clean, the room had a safe, fridge and robes and slippers, unfortunately one of the beds which makes up a double was missing a middle leg which caused rocking a noise with any movement. This did not bother me but i am sure it will for other guests. On the second day we upgraded from All Inclusive to Plus and for 20 euro per person per day we felt this was worth it just for the cocktails alone. I read on the Servatur site plus also includes snacks and ice cream 24 hours a day but we did not see these services, maybe Servatur could update that. The food at all meal times was excellent and of high quality as were the desserts, maybe the best we have had at an all inclusive hotel. The swimming pool was very large and could accommodate any number of guests and the lay out we found brilliant with two shallow ends and a deep end in the middle. Entertainment could be hit or miss depending on the night and atmosphere of the crowd but we enjoyed most nights and daytime entertainment was fantastic, there was always something going on for adults and children alike. The staff members: having read a lot of negative reviews about staff i will say this. The staff are busy all day and sometimes with language barriers they can seem moody, However, with a little bit of broking Spanish everything becomes easier and you can see how friendly the staff actually are. We found every staff member friendly. Also a special mention to the maintenance staff who on two occasions i seen acting fast to fix situations that occurred with a blockage to the pool and an issue with decking that had broke in the adults only area. Both issues were repaired within an hour of them being reported by guests. If i could give more than 5* to Servatur Waikiki i would, and i would definitely recommend anyone thinking of booking to go for it, Thank you Servatur and we will see you again.
We have just returned as a family of 5 from this hotel. We booked a ground floor with garden and was impressed by the size of the rooms. Basic but clean. I would highly recommend upgrading to these rooms for a family.
There was lots packed in all around the hotel, to be fair everything you could need park, gym etc. They have made really good use of all available space.
The food was always fresh, staff always working extremely hard to keep everything clean. Although its not the biggest selection for all inclusive that we have seen it was certainly of a better standard. The one complaint I have, is that very little is labeled. This is a pet hate of mine as a vegetarian. It means that most of the food is off limits as I have no idea what is actually in it. On that note there was very little offering for vegaterians, I pretty much lived on pizza, potatoes and salad for our whole stay. No vegaterian lasagne, curry etc at all during our stay.
Some of our children are young and they struggled as no kids section during dining. Thank god for the snack bar that was serving hot dogs, burgers and chicken nuggets. The snack bar isnt really a grab and go option, it is limited to sit down options only. I took some burgers to the children who didn't want to leave the pool and was quickly told off by bar staff as no food is allowed around the pool area. I found this quite odd as most resorts this isn't an issue.
Disappointing to see no ice cream at all for the kids as part of all inclusive. There were small tubes available at dinner/snack bar. This was more of a moose than ice cream.
Evening entertainment was a huge let down. They have a tiny stage outside the bar. With around 30/35 tables. These would fill up quickly! If you aren't at a table by 6.30-7 o clock There is absolutely no way of being able to sit for the entertainment. This would usually consist of a solo singer. But there was an "act" one evening that we did manage to get a glimpse of. Maybe a suggestion of removing the walk way to open up the space so that more seating is available to see the entertainment. But for a hotel with such high room capacity it absurd that there isnt no space for evenning entertainment.
Location was good, 15 minuite walk from maspalomas beach down hill, taxis are so widely available and very good price (3.90 euro back to hotel) Lovely stake house resturant located on the end of the street (turn left).
Would i return? No, definitely not its just not what we are needing for a family vacation. If I had booked this for a adults weekend close to amenities etc I would have been happy enough with the hotel. But after visiting other hotels all over Europe it just didn't tick enough boxes to consider going back.
