- Seaside Sandy Beach

This family-friendly hotel is excellently located in Playa del Inglés in the south of the holiday island of Gran Canaria, only a 5-minute walk from the beautiful sandy beach. It features an outdoor pool surrounded by subtropical gardens, a spa & wellness centre, sports facilities, restaurant and bars. Shopping centres, restaurants, bars, nightlife, the Maspalomas Golf Course and the famous dunes are within walking distance. A perfect place for couples and families.
*Dogs accepted at the hotel only on request and only in standar double room type. 1 dog maximum per room. 15 Euros cost per night, amount that has to be paid directly by guests at the hotel.
Perfect holiday from start to finish. I could go on forever, but to summarise the hotel is fantastic. The team are brilliant - especially with people with mobility issues. This wasn’t us, but they were so attentive to others with mobility needs. The staff are super friendly. The food is fantastic. We were there for ten days and only ate out twice. Such a big variety. Rooms were lovely - we upgraded and it was well worth it. Much bigger room.
Would highly recommend this hotel.
Regarding the MAIN pool.... diving and jumping into the pool, using floats and pool balls or boisterous behaviour..... is not allowed. Pure and simple.
As both a swimming instructor myself and as a customer, I can understand this rule on a number of points. ....
Sandy beach is however a place of calm, with people treated like adults, which makes this year our second visit to Sandy Beach (and the third visit to their hotel group).
And btw there were plenty of kids who seemed to be enjoying themselves. Infact I’d say that many a kid had more quality engagement with their parents as a result of the calmness. It was nice to see.
As before... and like so many other people…: I’ve worked incredibly hard this past twelve months... off the charts.... so when I go on holiday I simply need some peaceful quiet down time, with good food and drink alfresco plus a clean pool. All key points on why we came back to Sandy Beach again and will do so next year.
The service is great... always with a smile, the staff working incredibly hard and very open to the requests we have made over extra pillows, mattress topper, taxi calling, preferred place to sit for dinner etc. And we also noticed that the pool staff are so attentive to the elderly and those with additional needs.
We love the fact that we have to present our keycard for service instead of horrid wrist bands.
We love the fact we get served our drinks
We love the fact that we get to have proper glasses for drinks
Please don’t change any of this Sandy Beach !!!
(In contrast, 4 years ago we tried an ALTERNATIVE hotel that had lousy inclusive wrist bands, an hourly scrum at the messy self service drinks area, horrid paper cups for nearly every drink, forced eating inside, incredibly dangerous running for pool loungers at daft o’clock in a morning.... clock watching on the pool usage. horrid.. It’s not what we want,)
But Sandy Beach is what we want - just as it is.
Top tip btw is a trip to the lighthouse area (10 euros each way) where there are some nice shops and eateries.
Ahh well. Back to the grind stone
We had an incredible family holiday here this August! Traveling with my wife and our son, we were looking for a relaxing seaside getaway, and this hotel delivered in every way. The location in Playa del Inglés is fantastic—just steps from the beach, which made daily walks and sea swims effortless. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Our room was clean, comfortable, and offered lovely views. It was a wonderful, stress-free experience for the whole family, and we would definitely love to return. Highly recommended!
We had a lovely stay, some of the previous negative reviews nearly put us off but glad we ignored them.
Food - Excellent, huge range at every meal, good quality meat, probably the best we’ve had at all inclusives.
Pool - Was never crowded, lifeguards were inconsistent with rules but I’d rather have a safety conscious lifeguard and peace in the large pool than people throwing balls etc. It was hard to get sunbeds by the pool but plenty just a short distance away.
Cleanliness - spotless cleaning.
Staff - We found everyone to be super friendly.
Kids club - 7 year old had fun going a few days doing crafting etc.
My only grumbles really - I found it strange that a whole roof terrace was set away for nudists and over 10 days there was just one guy there. Seems like a waste of space and we didn’t fancy the spa based on the nudity aspect. Thought the rule about men not being allowed to wear sandals at dinner was strange, I’m not sure why trainers are classed as a more formal footwear choice.
We would definitely come back and I think it is great for younger kids, very close to the beach and lovely coastal walk.
Rooms where lovely food was amazing staff are friendly and everything is near by in walking distance, if you’re going to book excursions do it through the hotel as it worked out cheaper
