This family-friendly hotel is excellently located in Playa del Inglés in the south of the holiday island of Gran Canaria, only a 5-minute walk from the beautiful sandy beach. It features an outdoor pool surrounded by subtropical gardens, a spa & wellness centre, sports facilities, restaurant and bars. Shopping centres, restaurants, bars, nightlife, the Maspalomas Golf Course and the famous dunes are within walking distance. A perfect place for couples and families.
*Dogs accepted at the hotel only on request and only in standar double room type. 1 dog maximum per room. 15 Euros cost per night, amount that has to be paid directly by guests at the hotel.

A relaxing happy week in the sun
Just returned following a lovely week in the the sun at the Seaside Sandy Beach. I was staying half board.
Firstly the hotel is really clean and tidy.
My bedroom was a large double with a great balcony overlooking the pool. Although the distant views are not amazing - the rooms look on to other hotels/apartments. The shower room was great and a useful walk in wardrobe. I couldn't find fault. Also an easy to use TV with a guide so can find the UK channels easily.
Food is generally served al fresco in a lovely shaded area covered by umbrellas. Never had to wait long to be seated. Tables beautifully presented and the staff are helpful friendly and attentive. The food is good. No complaints at all. Plenty of choice and themed nights. Not quite the vast selection you get with some of the Riu hotels but still very good.
The pool area is really nice and well kept. the staff bring out cushion's for the sun beds which make the sun beds really comfy. However towards the end of the week you find yourself getting dragged into the dog fight for sun beds around the pool. Same people everyday there sometimes nearly half an hour before to dump anything over as many sun beds as possible. Often sending kids in to do battle for them. There is an upper area which again is soon reserved. I suppose it is magnified at this time of year. It is frustrating to see sun beds left for hours in the best positions with no on using them
the pool bar is also a really nice place to sit and enjoy a drink
Not much in the way of kids entertainment but I didn't have kids with me so wasn't bothered. Usually you get the animation team trying to get them all doing activities etc But there is a pool table , games area etc
Hotel is handy for the beach.. The beach and sea are both amazing . acres of space. Lovely walks along the promenade in both directions (check out the sand dunes) . Plenty of bars to choose from. Just lacking a few more upmarket ones.
The staff at this hotel are great they are friendly and helpful. They come across professional and always dressed smartly. Couldn't find any fault.
Lots of buses go from Yumbo centre so its easy to get about the island - Pueto de mogan is pretty but very busy.
Glad I've been and seen Gran Canaria but feel i've ticked it off now and no need to return.

Weeks stay
Lovely hotel , stayed bed and breakfast. I have to make the comment about sunbed reserving , it does happen and I read in a previous reply back from the hotel that staff at the pool leave a notice then removed the towels, this does not happen, not at any point of my stay did I see towels removed even after towels being left for hours. Pool area is very small for the amount of guests. On my last day after vacating my room at 12 , I bought a sangria and paid for it by the pool to sit and wait for my transfer , it was poured from a carton of sangria into a plastic glass cost me 5 euros. An all inclusive guest came beside me ordered 2 cocktails and a glass of wine all served in proper glasses. The first time I have ever experienced all inclusive get treated better than bed and breakfast 🤣. No entertainment by the pool and in the evenings very poor.

This time was a short business stay but anyhow again very pleasant. Although the hotel is showing its age, it remains the best hotel in Playa del Ingles. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, excellent food (specially the breakfast). Will return again!

Fantastic!
The hotel is very well appointed but be aware this isn’t friendly to those with less mobility. Lots of steep hills and some mega steps to and from the hotel.
The rooms were just right in their size and amenities. The beds were a little stiff and the cushions too soft. They were well cleaned each day with plenty of towels etc.
We had a pool facing room which perfect to sit out on an evening and overlook the pool all lit up. There was a small kettle, safe (payable) and a small fridge which really couldn’t keep anything cool. Air con was good.
The pool was always warm but be guarded it’s deep. Two small kids pool, one shallower than the other were the right size. Towels were supplied and can be changed daily. The sun loungers have very comfy mattresses and each two are assigned a table and sun brolly. One thing that wasn’t good, was there two lifeguards on duty, each on duty when the other was off. One was ok and let most things go but the other would approach very young children and shake his hand at them, telling them not to do things…that kids do. Adults didn’t fair any better, step out of line and step into the pool and he was on ya like a great white shark. A fun sponge killer
The restaurant offered breakfasts for all and even at busy times coped very well. You could either be seated outside but whilst nice it was red hot. Opt to be seated inside in air conditioning and be seated quicker, as not many people took that option.
Breakfast and tea were very good but lunch was very limited and I think if you went AI you’d be disappointed.
At the bar, well let’s just say the measures for the stronger stuff doesn’t exist. They just fill the glass up, so that offers good value.
Down at the beach front, well to be honest it was like downtown Blackpool (uk resort). Rundown, messy and was all concrete. Yuk!
A 10 euro taxi up to Maspolomas is well worth a night out for sheer eye delights and plenty of sea front bars, shops etc.
So the hotel was up to a good standard. What stood out for us, was the effort the made for little lads 6th birthday. They reserved a table for us, dressed it and made in house a chocolate cake for him. Staff presented it with Happy Birthday song, so thank you all at the hotel, he loved it.
The hotel is good but the area was too hilly for us and the spoil sport life guard just took the edge of it. If you have rules then both staff members have to use the same one otherwise guests moan when there’s a change over.
Family holiday review
A balanced review of our family stay at Seaside Sandy Beach. We were a larger group of 9; two Grandparents, four adults and three teenage grandchildren. The hotel has a traditional feel to it, very clean and well presented. The rooms are spacious with plenty of storage. We were all very impressed with the quality of the food, there was an enormous amount on offer to suit all tastes. The outside dining area is beautifully presented especially in the evening, with beautiful fairy lights. The majority of staff were polite, helpful and friendly. We had a few encounters with a rather aggressive supervisor who was resistant to seating us together, despite us stressing that we were happy to wait for a table and coming down later after the evening rush. Sandra was very accommodating and one of our waiters Adrian was a delight; really helpful, polite and conscientious. The big let down for the hotel is the pool area. It is much too small for the size of the hotel as well as the majority of its surface area too deep to stand in. One of the lifeguards in particular spent his day aggressively reprimanding anyone who behaved in a way you would expect for adults and children on holiday. I witnessed a boy trying to play catch with a small ball with his Dad however, this was deemed inappropriate. My 17 year old was disappointed with the lack of entertainment that you'd find in similar resorts. A few of the pool staff were openly hostile and there was a definite turning of the eye to sunbeds being reserved with no one using them for hours. There is also limited space to sit outside, the pool bar could have many more tables and chairs on the upper level. Overall a good holiday.
