Situated in the northern side of Playa del Inglés, between the popular Avenida Tirajana and Avenida Gran Canaria. The closest sandy beach, reachable with convenient public transport links, is located approximately 2 km from the premises. There are also a number of shopping centres and entertainment sites located at around 800 m. The airport can be reached within a 20-minute ride. If guests prefer, they can have a delicious meal in the onsite restaurant or a couple of drinks in the pool bar. The outdoor pool area is perfect to sunbathe or have a refreshing swim. The rooms come with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable and unforgettable stay.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The hotel exceeded our expectations. Staff very helpful and friendly especially Gian (Mr Birmingham) who served the beautifully presented delicious evening meals. Hotel very clean and facilities very good. Excellent gym facilities verified by our 24 year old daughter. Courtesy bus service for beach but limited to a couple of times but was quite a walk especially in 30 degree heat!
Fantastic hotel! Staff were lovely, rooms were great and the pool area is really well set out.
I’d say perfect for couples, more so than families.
We only booked B&B so I can’t comment on dinner but the breakfast was really good, loads of choice and a chef on hand to make you eggs, omelettes etc.
Hotel rondo Front desk representative Antonio 10 stars Attentive, Kind, funny, he answered a million questions that we had about the area, bus, excursions, etc. He also gave us a small glass of cava when we arrived. Amazing man!
Room: Big, clean, balcony, plenty of closet space, beautiful mirrors in room, refrigerator, coffee, tea. Beds were comfy and there was air conditioning in room. Nice pullout sofa in room and patio chairs and table outside.
Bathroom was huge with two sinks, separate toilet area. Complimentary Toothbrush, toothpaste, shaver, shaving cream in bathroom and body soap in shower,
Pool: Best chairs we’ve ever sat on, so comfy and large. They give you towels at front desk when you check in. Bat at pool if you want a drink and snacks. Pool is nice and refreshing with three massage like water spots at end of pool.
Three separate small jacuzzis that had powerful bubbles and massages. The four of us fit in the jacuzzi. It was lovely.
Restaurant: We ate the breakfast Buffett in dining room. Fabulous selection of pastries, bread, fruit, yogurt, Spanish potato omelet; also made to order omelets by the amazing Rodrigo. He spoke Spanish and English. Tea, coffee, three different kinds of juices, three kinds of yogurts, cereal, nuts, etc. Flavia, Pilar, and Jose were also wonderful servers at breakfast.
We ate dinner twice at the hotel restaurant and it was 5 stars! Amazing presentation of food. We had the gambas al ajillo, grilled chicken and the famous papas arrugadas with canaria mojo sauce. Delicious! Dessert was a discuss Macedonia cake and the next night lemon and raspberry sorbet. Our servers Ruben and Galin (not sure of spelling) were amazing and attentive.
Really lovely stay at the Hotel HL Rondo, would greatly recommend! 4.5 stars.
The best bits:
⁃ Bedroom & bathroom was big, air con was great. Relatively quiet. Cleaned daily
⁃ Breakfast was good with a lot of variety and is on 7.30-11.30
⁃ Buffet dinner offered at sister hotel across the road, different food daily & good options
⁃ A la carte menu for dinner is fairly decent choice, they have different specials every day which is nice. Food is restaurant standard but if you are fussy you might run out of options you like quicker.
⁃ Very good customer service from staff across the hotel. One stand out staff member was Armando who was very welcoming and friendly. He also helped us out when our excursion bus left without us and let us use his mobile to call the company. Thank you again!
⁃ Fairly quiet hotel & pool (however there is music that comes in from the hotel next door but nothing major!)
⁃ Not exclusively adults only but very little number of children here so great for couples who are child free - there is no evening entertainment / disco etc
⁃ There is a gym right next door with decent equipment included in the hotel stay. I’ve been to many hotel gyms with poor kit & a lack of facilities but this was one of the better ones
⁃ Location was ideal as you are around 20 mins in every direction from lots to do/see/eat
Things to improve:
⁃ The comfort room to use on day of check out (check out is 11am) was extremely filthy. No toilet roll, soap, towels. Told the receptionist working at that time and he wasn’t that receptive towards our feedback. Left us on a bit of a sour taste on our last couple hours at the hotel
⁃ One of the waiters was a bit sassy when I asked questions of him, this was multiple times across the stay
⁃ Would be great if breakfast started a bit earlier to facilitate days where you go on early excursions but this isn’t a big deal
I am currently staying at Hotel Rondo for a 10-night stay and, unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing.
Check-in was poorly managed despite my stay being fully prepaid. I was initially refused access to my room until payment was made again, and despite notifying the hotel in advance that I would be bringing a guest on a quoted half-board rate, staff appeared confused and repeatedly sent us away to have dinner before eventually providing a room key at around 8pm. We were allocated a junior suite with twin beds, not a double, and no complimentary bottled water, having to immediately seek open stores nearby.
The hotel failed to explain how the half-board package worked, including meal times, booking requirements, or whether it covered lunch or dinner. The half-board menu is very limited and guests are required to dine in an indoor canteen-style restaurant, even when there is plenty of outdoor seating available. We were told we could not eat by the pool because the hotel prioritises walk-in and gym customers over residents, despite having prepaid for breakfast and dinner throughout our stay. This policy was frustrating and difficult to understand.
There are positives. The breakfast is excellent, the chef is clearly talented, the breakfast staff are friendly, the gym is spacious and well equipped, and the sauna is very good. The hotel is also clean and the rooms are spacious.
However, several advertised amenities are inaccurate. There is no steam room despite it being advertised, and this is not an adults-only hotel—children are present throughout the property. The overall atmosphere falls well short of what I would expect from a four-star hotel. There is no laundry service or concierge, and service is inconsistent. On more than one occasion, staff prioritised back-of-house tasks over attending to waiting guests.
Overall, this is a hotel with good facilities undermined by poor organisation, inflexible policies and indifferent service. I would not choose to stay here again, even at a lower price.
