This beach hotel is situated in the tourist centre, around 1.5 km from the local sandy beach, Playa del Inglés. Gran Canaria Airport is approximately 30 minutes by car. Within walking distance, guests will find a great shopping centre with entertainment opportunities. The nearest public transport stop is in the near vicinity. There is also a big range of bars, pubs and restaurants in the near surroundings. This holiday hotel complex, housed in a 9-storey main building and an 8-storey annexed block offering modern rooms, fully equipped to ensure a pleasant stay with maximum comfort. This is a great place to spend a few days with the family as it counts with two children's pools and an entertainment programme for adults and children.
Fabulous holiday! I have been here twice now - once in Feb 2025 then just got home. We travelled as two friends with our teenage children. We had a great time! I was a little worried that things had gone down hill after reading some of the reviews- but honestly it was just as great. I wonder if some people are just a bit miserable and out to moan! The food was excellent- always plenty of options. We loved the theme nights (and the shots!). The room was lovely with a great walk in shower. The best bit has to be the animation team, they were so much fun and so kind to the kids, especially Alexander, who they all didn’t want to leave! The bar staff were also very friendly and we never waited long to be served. The drinks were great, especially the cava! Would 100% come back again, in fact the kids are already asking me to book for next year!
I have just returned from a week's holiday here with my family. It was an ok holiday, but not somewhere I would return or recommend. The room was spacious with storage, however the shower tray was broken and there wasn't a blind on the window which is directly next to the shower and toilet so myself and my daughters felt very uncomfortable using the toilet and shower as you could see people outside. The rooms were cleaned daily however it seemed like it was mopped rather than swept as the same group of hairs were always there that were there upon our arrival. The pools look much bigger in the photos, and the pool at the top we didn't use at all due to the floor surface in the pool coming away. Bits of the floor were on the tables next to the sunbeds, so that really put us off using it. You can't use inflatables in the pool either, I'm guessing due to the pools being quite small. Sunbeds were easy to get, you didn't need to get up early for those which was good. However in the evening there isn't enough tables and chairs so loads of guests had to sit on sunbeds to drink their drinks. Food was ok, I did have an upset stomach as did my husband. I did struggle some days to find something I liked to eat and I'm not a particularly fussy eater. The staff in the buffet restaurant and bars are all very friendly as are the entertainment staff. Location wise it's good as you can walk or get a bus to the beach. Plenty of shops to walk to as well. The other disappointment was not being able to use our room until pick up time for our check out day. We had a later pick up so would have liked to have kept our room for comfort. I emailed before we arrived to ask about this and was told to check with reception when I arrived. I then asked when I got there and was told to ask on departure day. I set my alarm early and got up and went to reception and was told no rooms available and was offered 30 minutes use of another room to shower in. That's roughly 7 minutes to shower and get ready per person in our family of 4, very unrealistic time frame to get ready so we didn't use the room and sat around. It did spoil the last day as we felt it was wasted as we couldn't use our room. I've been to other 4 star hotels, equally as busy and have been able to use our room until departing, I feel like this could be managed better. This reason alone puts me off returning and I sensed the reception staff didn't particularly care or apologise for not being able to use the room for longer.
Me and my partner have just got back from a week at the Barceló margaritas, we had a lovely time& the positives definitely out weighted the negatives..
pros: Getting a sunbed was never an issue, even if you was to come out and 10:30-11 ish there was still sunbeds. The staff are all lovely.. The beer was cruzcampo which was nice, branded soft drinks was also good! Nice pastry’s, crisps & ice creams available round the pool all day. Our room was lovely and clean. Food was nice for an all inclusive loads of variety, breakfast omelettes made fresh for you was nice too! Snack bar was good too as there was grill machines to toast sandwiches and burgers. Entertainment team seemed really good. Location is good, a supermarket shop just outside the hotel & around a 25 minute steady walk to the beach or €5-6 in a taxi. A real plus for us also was the fact you didn’t have a room key or card it was just your wristband was your key fob so you never had to worry about the key card. Check out was at 12 noon which was quite good but be quick to book a shower room on the morning you leave if you want a specific time. Keeping your room on would cost you €50.
Now for the few bad points.. (some very minor) Pool area could do with being cleaned more at all times as there was like straws and cups sometimes not collected for days& around the pools could be mopped just overall not very clean communal areas. Lining on the floor of the family pool was all loose and chipped (pictured) me and my partner both cut our toes on this so be careful. Quite a few loose and cracked tiles around the pools so be careful of these especially if you have children. Arcade area was abit of a con.. put money in some machines example the darts one.. then turns out you need to go reception to get the darts which is on another floor. Easy fix- leave them at the pool bar would make it much easier? I think it’s poor you have to pay for a safe in your room (3 euros a day) there in the room anyway and no one else is using it so just no need for that really as we’ve never paid for one in any other hotel I’ve visited in the past.
But over all we really enjoyed our selves.
Not a great hotel. Definitely not a 4 star. Poor entertainment and poor family pool with a floor that needed repairing
Stayed at Barcelo hotels before and this was probably the most basic. No real evening entertainment and on the one evening there was it was over by 9.45 and then the bar shut and they turned the lights off so everyone had to leave. Very odd. Stated there were 3 bars but only 2 open. And one shut very early. Daytime activities were average and only around one area. There was a free shuttles bus to 2 resorts. Food was good and rooms were clean. Some rooms have not been renovated and are not as on the website which is a bit misleading leading.
