GREAT RELAXING BREAK
I decided to spend a long weekend, 4 nights at the Neptuno due to its proximity to the Yumbo Centre and meeting up with friends every night who were staying elsewhere in the resort. Check in was easy and straightforward and the complimentary bottle of red wine in my room was a nice touch. I had a pool view on the 3rd floor which was adequate for my short stay although if staying longer would have preferred a walk-in shower instead of one over the bath, due to my mobility issues. Great room with everything you wanted including tea/coffee making faciliities, balcony, TV, safe. etc. although extra English channels woulnd't have gone a miss. This was my 4th stay at this hotel. Being an adults only hotel meant you weren't woken by the kids club at 8am and they serve breakfast until 11am which is fab as I'm not really one to get going until past 9am. Good selection each morning. Evening meal is served up until 10pm too with drinks purchased charged to you room and you settle up at the end of your stay. The same applies for purchases made in the snack bar during the afternoon too if you are not all inclusive. All the staff were so helpful and polite and couldn't do enough for you. Big shout out to Carolina and Alexis on reception and Maria and Angela in the restaurant, although can't remember everybody else's names. They seem to have a lot of repeat customer like myself and I counted at least a dozen people during my stay that I had chatted to on previous occasions. On my final day a courtesy room was available for me to use late in the afternoon meaning I could then stay around poolside until it was time to leave. You are basically spoilt at this hotel; from the use of a rear access door to the Yumbo Centre, complimentary sangria in the morning and no need to rush about to reserve a sunbed at 6am like in some hotels. With a Spar, Duty Free shop and all your other souvenir shops within a 2 minute walk from the hotel I wouldn't stay anywhere else now when I come to Gran Canaria. Wonderful stay again. Starting to loose it's shine
This hotel is in an excellent location And I have stayed there 3 times because of it. The cleaners do an amazing job and I tipped them well because of it. Some feedback though, some of the bar staff at the pool bar, they seem genuinely annoyed when you order a drink, but the reason for this is that they are doing table service drinks for the waiting staff at the same time as trying to run the bar, they need more than 1 person serving i would be stressed too but dont take it out on guests. . I even tipped cssh on every drink and I was all inclusive. It's a shame because management, reception, dining hall staff all seem lovely. Also the mattresses need replacing badly you can feel every spring in your back. Please change them. The reserving of sunbeds is ridiculous but im not sure how they can stop it, all gone by 9am. It's a Spanish 4 star so go with a good 3 star in your head and you will be pleased. I've booked again for next year but if things don't change it will be my last, extra staff needed to serve behind bar during lunch, replace mattresses and vary the food a bit more. It's just so dam handy gor the yumbo. Hence why I return.
Pool attendant nightmare!
We have been visiting this wonderful hotel for over 30 years. Unfortunately on this occasion our visit has been marred by a jobsworth pool attendant. On our first full day, at 8.30 nearly all the beds were covered in towels. We put ours out at 10.00, before breakfast, near the pool attendants station. There was nowhere else. When we returned there was a notice advising us that our towels would be removed in half an hour! I apologised & pointed out the hypocrisy here. Added to the fact that, afterwards the pool attendant spent most of their time talking to a fellow Spaniad!! The next day, the same again! Nowhere else to go except near the pool attendants station. Thus we were easy pickings to say they had done their job!! So, I made a complaint about this to reception. I do hope the Director of the Neptuno has been made aware of this, because it has ruined our holiday. In fact, we did not sunbathe at all today. Yes, we're still here. The four stars are for the otherwise wonderful staff who still remember us. Yours John PS - will we come back, 😒
A relaxing Hotel.
Stayed at this Hotel in a preferred Room for 10 nights in July 26. The Hotel is peaceful, well run and the maids are excellent. All in all its a good hotel. Building wise, its very much steps from the road into the Reception, so don't drag your bags to far, leave them by the lifts. The rooms are what I'd call 'tired' and in need of a re-dec in my view. They have everything your need though. They are not however the biggest hotel rooms and I've been in bigger and better 4 star hotels than this. If your looking to be amongst the action, then this is ideal too. For the money, I probably wouldn't pick this hotel again, however the staff are great and do their jobs well. The Reception Team are very good, and the Hotel Restaurant Manager is very funny and such a nice chap. We asked him where the Red Melon and Pears were one night, next night lots of them for us..... great guy.

Been to Gran Canaria many times, but my first time at Neptuno. Lovely hotel! Location is perfect, out the back gate and you are in the Yumbo. Considering its scenteal location, noise was never a problem. Staff here are wonderful. Everything is spotlessly clean, and the restaurant is great. Food is nice with a good amount of choice. I like that breakfast runs for a longer window too, so if you’ve had a late night you do not have to be up early. Room is a good size and air con is powerful. I love it here so much I am returning to the Neptuno this month. Great value for such a nice hotel!
