This air-conditioned 9-storey beachside hotel offers a total of 182 rooms and features a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, 2 lifts, a bar, a TV room, an air-conditioned restaurant with a non-smoking area, a conference room, a public Internet terminal (for an additional fee) and a car park. Brits in Germany :-)
My husband and I are British, but live in Germany and booked a week in the Hotel Lucana, to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We had a great time. Anabel and Maria from reception were THE BEST … thank you for making our stay so good xx The hotel was always clean, the food was good (one of our better ‘all inclusive’ cuisines,) and the staff in general were very polite We spoke English as it our native language (and our Deutsch ist nicht so gut!) The staff got used to us and replied in English. We liked that there were two, very different, pools to laze around, and that the beach was so very close. Sun beds were easily available at the hotel and the lifeguard was very helpful. Alas we found the Alltours hotel rep to be rather abrupt and unhelpful. I spoke English to her twice (needing advice) and both times she replied, “I only speak German or English!” I was born and raised on British soil, it’s my ‘mother tongue!’ Well done Hotel Lucana and thank you xx
Very Basic
I've actually stayed here twice. Once in the early 80s and his past Xmas to New Years and hardy anythings changed. Theres still many Germans putting thgeir towels on pool chairs the night B4 with them of the mind they own that chair. The pool bar/breakfast bar is basic. as is the dinner menu. The atmosphere all depends on the holiday makers and how much we drank. But situated handy for both Las Palmas and south of the island as well as a few good bars just down the road.
If British dont go
As entered the hotel we greeted by a receptionist talking German I had to tell her I only speak British so that should of rung alam bells ,food was lovely ,rooms lovely and clean ,then it came to the animation team couldn't join in because they just spoke German, I haven't anything about German people lovely people but we found it difficult to have any conversation with anyone so felt very excluded in anything going on in the hotel so I wouldn't recommend this hotel if u can't speak German
Lovely hotel, clean and well maintained. Food is plentifully with lots of choices.
This is a lovely hotel, nice room, lots of choice with the food. However, this hotel caters 98% for German. That isn’t a problem but it was difficult to follow what the animation team are saying. We were unable to join in with the activities in the evening, this kind of made us feel alienated.
Bad food, dead mouse but nice staff
I gave this hotel a 1/5 because it was just terrible. If you expect a nice hotel stay here forget it unless you are an old german couple. The food had next to no flavour, there was only good food like once a week. If you want to get a spot near the pool you can forget it unless you want to put a towel on it at 6 am just to get a spot. The room was clean but a lot of ants and we later discovered on our stay THERE WAS A DEAD MOUSE.
The only redeeming quality about this place is how nice the staff is. So i do not recommend staying here at all!
