Food ok but not fantastic repeats every other day or so. Beds by the pool is absolutely ridiculous people getting off them on an afternoon and leaving towels for next day so nobody else can get a bed also family’s have multiple umbrellas whilst some families can’t get any. Reception no help tell you to speak to the lifeguard who then tells you it’s not there job. Signs by the pool clearly state no sunbed savings. Rooms cleaned daily but bathroom constantly smelled like crap. Some lifeguards allowed floats some didn’t so constant miss communication. For a 4* it’s rubbish my family won’t be returning
We arrived here last Monday late at night and raised our concerns regarding the sun loungers that we had previously read about to which we were told that this is a problem they have but are not willing to do anything about.
When we arrived we noticed that 75% of sunbeds had been reserved by 11pm for the following day. When this was questioned it was said that due to a previous altercation they just allow this to happen.
We then noticed several other families doing the same which resulted in the next morning the sunbeds being reserved and therefore none available so we began to do the same thing 4 days into our holiday.
After doing this, there has been several arguments between customers with the lifeguard who generally couldn’t care less and just will hover around until sunbeds are free to give to the more ‘challenging guests’. I have also seen the lifeguard on various occasions more interested in her phone or pleasing the Spanish guests.
I have 2 very young children and have seen several people arguing and fighting over sunbeds which is very distressing for young children.
The staff in the restaurant and pool bar are mainly good minus the grunts that you receive when you request an ice cream which isn’t ’all Inclusive’. The food is very limited and repetitive and therefore my all inclusive holiday has ended up costing me almost double due to having to eat out often.
The Rooms are spacious and the cleaners work really hard but they could do with a deep clean under the beds etc due to dust and rubbish still being under them
The hotel is close to the beach & a few shops but the hotel lacks in facilities.
Finally the entertainment again is lacking, it’s the same people doing the ‘evening show’ every time and the entertainment team don’t have the enthusiasm that is needed to engage guests EXCEPT one of them! I believe his name is Danny, he is an absolute credit to the hotel. Really participates and encourages attendance in the mini disco and activities which are run at poolside.
We were lucky enough to attend during the colour event which gave us a true feel of the area.
I have been to Gran Canaria now 7 times across different parts of the island and this hotel has specially put me off ever returning!
We really enjoyed our stay at Servatur Playa Bonita. The staff were very friendly and always did their best to make you feel welcome. The buffets were good and varied, with plenty to choose from, including lots of tasty fish and seafood as well as healthier options.
Our room was spacious and very clean, with a really comfortable bed.
The only downside was the sunbed situation. People started reserving them with towels from around 10 p.m. for the next day, which meant there were hardly ever any available if you simply turned up at the pool. We asked the lifeguard about it, but were told to take it up with reception. Luckily, it didn’t bother us too much – the ocean is just a short walk away and we actually much preferred swimming there!
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and really enjoyed our time here. We would definitely come back!
Great food and location, friendly staff, but poor all-inclusive bar drinks
The hotel is in a very good location, in a lively area with plenty to do. It’s about a pleasant 10-minute walk to a beautiful beach, and only a little further to the amazing sand dunes.
Parking can be a bit of a challenge. The hotel has a limited number of paid parking spaces, but even during peak season we always managed to find a free spot on the street nearby.
The food at the hotel is excellent. There is a huge variety, the quality is very good, and everything we tried was genuinely tasty. The all-inclusive drinks served with meals are also perfectly fine – wine, sangria, beer, soft drinks, coffee and tea are all of good quality.
Unfortunately, the all-inclusive drinks at the bars are a completely different story. They are very poor – not tasty, badly presented and clearly made with the lowest-quality ingredients. This was probably the biggest disappointment of our stay.
The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout the hotel, which definitely adds to the overall experience.
The evening entertainment was also a pleasant surprise. Considering that this is a relatively small hotel, the entertainment programme was of a surprisingly good quality and made the evenings more enjoyable.
The rooms are not the newest, but they are clean and comfortable. When something stopped working in our room, maintenance came quickly and fixed it without any problems.
Overall, considering the price, I would recommend this hotel. The excellent food, friendly staff, good location and proximity to the beach and dunes definitely make up for some of its shortcomings.
Absolutely brilliant experience, loved the place and the pool, The staff were great especially Selina and the activity team who went out of Thier way to make sure my grandkids had a good time, food was great and a wide range so everyone found something they liked. We would definitely return.
