This beach hotel enjoys an ideal setting on the warm, friendly island of Gran Canaria. The hotel is located just 900 metres from the beach yet is also centrally situated at the heart of the entertainment. The Aguila Roja shopping centre is a mere 100 metres from the hotel, while the Kasbah shopping centre is just 300 metres away. The property offers ease of access to the public transport network with links located just 300 metres away. The airport can be reached within a 20-minute car ride. The guest rooms are beautifully decorated featuring neutral and muted tones, offering a haven of comfort and convenience. The hotel lies peacefully amidst pleasant gardens and greets guests with an air of warmth and serenity. Guests can spend the day by the pool or having a refreshing swim.

Great family holiday destination.
Just come back from a week long family holiday and we had the absolute best time! Located within walking distance of bars and shops for if you fancy a wander around. Approx 15 minutes walk from the beach however you have to navigate a lot of steps up and down. First impressions of the hotel were that it was clean and modern, staff throughout at every interaction were fantastic. I had to report that someone had kindly vomited in the loft and they dealt with that like the building was on fire it was incredibly impressive. The room. I wont lie when I first went in the room my first impression wasnt great its a bit run down and in need of a freshen up but its the end if the season and I imagine it's probably just had its share of people in and out. It literally was just the paint work needed freshened up as was very scuffed and chipped, and the toilet seat needs replaced and theres marks where the lid hits the seat. It was however incredibly clean and the standard of clean every day more than made up for the scuffed paint. One of my balcony chairs had a crack and was replaced straight away also. The food. All inclusive are always such personal things nobody goes to an all inclusive and expects fine dining and if you do then maybe you need to reevaluate. Personally I found the food to be fresh, good quality and tasty. There was enough variety that I had different things every meal, I however have a varied palette. My beige kids again managed to eat every meal their diet wasn't as varied however but thats ok too. I have never seen so many ways to cook carrots though and I am definitely going to recreate that! The only thing that let food down for me were the people at the buffet who were rude and would literally lean over you to get something. There was a few times it was just very chaotic and one time we had to leave as we couldn't get a table and I got too frustrated by everything. I would have loved it if the app displayed the menu theme each night so you could decide whether it was a night you would like or one where you would rather go out. The pools were great and zero issues getting sunbeds anytime we went, main pools were clean but did get very full with people escaping the sun. I love the fact that there were sunbeds designed for disabled access and there was even a chair for entering and leaving the water. The accessibility of the hotel seemed very impressive, even tbe dining area had seating reserved for accessibility, bravo! The entertainment was ok again its all inc you dont expect Broadway shows. The cocktails were strong and the 24 hour all inc was an amazing feature! All in all we would return and have already short listed it for our next holiday but 10 days this time 😊

Yudith, dimitrina & the other bartender (sorry didn’t get your name) wow!! wonderful service, made us feel welcomed on our holiday. always service with a smile and never failed to make us laugh! muchas gracias queens ❤️
Good for families, not so much for couples
The Buenaventura is a large hotel with around 750 rooms which has its good bits, bad bits and some exceptional members of staff who I’d like to recognise personally in this review
The exceptional staff
Yudith She is warm, always smiling 100% attention to all the people she served. Yudith exceeds service and makes you feel valued a guest at the hotel, knowing your drinks, creating amazing shots, serving to your table no matter how busy, thank you Yudith it was a pleasure meeting you.
Nice parts about the hotel
Clean, functional rooms, a little basic and had a plasticy feel in the bathrooms, beds were great and the pillows were amazing, good AC, albeit some eggy smells at times. No drawer space which was unusual. Lots of space in the wardrobes.
The amenities around the pools were adequate.
Main inside bar area was clean and functional with Live entertainment most evenings which on the whole we’re enjoying.
Free shuttle bus to the beach 4 times a day, and in you need a taxi, just ask reception and they’ll sort it easily
Nice mix of nationalities visiting which was balanced and enjoyable.
The not so good bits
Pot luck what towels you had replaced, no slip mat a few times easily remedied by a hand towel, but very slippy without one. The cleanliness of the towel replenishment was questionable, some with brown stains… I’ll not delve further into that. Cups were not cleaned on 3 occasions not what a 4 star hotels standards should be.
Restaurant /food Extremely busy, it’s not big enough for the hotel at all. If you don’t eat fish then the alternative options are basically limited. Confusing times we were given to when the restaurants actually open too. First night we occupied a chair outside area of the restaurant until we returned and noticed a waste station through the window … squashed left food on plates while you try and enjoy your evening meal - at one point food sprayed up the inside of the window at face height.
Sporadic empty main dishes, the pork and beef dishes (on 2 days) were enjoyable. The chicken ( or rooster ) was tough, tasteless and I fed most of it to the cats.
Overall a pleasant accommodation, but I’ll not return to this hotel for the reasons above
One of Playa del Ingles best hotels!
After a terrible experience in another hotel last year, we returned last week to the Abora Buenaventura. This is our go to hotel. Brilliant staff, great facilities, clean and comfortable rooms and the food is plentiful and lots of options. We had room 860 which was top floor and gave great views towards the sea and across Playa del Ingles.
The only thing that needs attention are the elevators, they’re looking a bit tired and the control panels are showing signs of damage. Also they are really slow. However this is something that can rectified with some capital investment.
The staff here are so friendly and work incredibly hard. Yudith on bar service was a joy, always smiling and friendly and would say hello or wave if she saw you. The housekeeper on floor 8 was exceptional too but didn’t get her name, always smiling and saying hello. She worked incredibly hard each day to make the rooms spotless.
Also let’s not forget the unseen heroes - kitchen staff, servers at the buffet etc. this must be a 24hr operation and they worked under immense pressure to feed hundreds of covers each day, three times a day. Let’s not take them for granted. This is also true for the team that turn around the pool area from sunbathing to seating for the entertainment then late at night turning it around back to the pool loungers.
We cannot recommend this hotel enough and looking forward to returning.

Disappointing overall
The location was spot on, and on arrival the hotel looked lovely, so we were initially really impressed. Unfortunately, as our stay went on, we found several things that didn’t quite live up to our expectations. At check-in, we were surprised to find that there was an additional charge for using the safety deposit box in our room. Having stayed in many hotels before, we’ve always found this to be included, so we felt this was disappointing, particularly at an all-inclusive resort.
The corridors leading to our room were quite dark and drab and looked like they were in need of some TLC. Our room itself was spacious and had everything we needed, although we did expect tea and coffee-making facilities to be provided, especially at an all-inclusive resort.
The air conditioning was a particular issue. It was essentially non-existent during our stay, and despite complaining about it twice, the problem wasn’t resolved, which made the room uncomfortable at times.
We also felt that the pool areas were in need of some maintenance. There were loose tiles and damaged drains around the pool areas, which we found concerning, particularly with young children around. Unfortunately, our little girl ended up cutting her hand around the children’s pool, which was very upsetting and made us feel that these areas needed more attention to ensure they were safe for guests.
The food was okay, but quite repetitive, and we found the drinks selection included with the all-inclusive package to be fairly limited. The daytime and evening entertainment was also quite limited, with everything finishing by around 10:30pm each evening. While we appreciate that entertainment schedules vary, we were on our annual holiday and would have liked a little more in the evenings.
I appreciate that this review may come across as quite negative, but we feel it’s important to be honest about our experience. We had read a lot of positive reviews beforehand, so perhaps our expectations were quite high, but unfortunately, the hotel just didn’t live up to what we were expecting and several aspects of our stay weren’t really to our taste.
There were certainly positives, particularly the location and the initial impression of the hotel, but overall we left feeling disappointed that our experience didn’t match what we had hoped for.
