Gran Canaria Princess - Adults Only

The location is excellent, with easy access to the beach and a great selection of restaurants. The Yumbo and Cita Centre are also only a short taxi ride away, around 5 minutes. The food was varied, plentiful and always served hot. As we stayed for two weeks, it did become a little repetitive towards the end of our holiday, but overall the quality was very good. The only disappointing part was the snack bar, which had limited choice and, unfortunately, the quality wasn’t great. This is one area where the hotel could definitely improve. Our room was very clean and, in general, the whole hotel was well maintained and clean. The evening entertainment was also good and provided plenty to enjoy. The staff were always friendly, helpful and welcoming. There is some work currently ongoing outside the front of the hotel, but this never caused us any problems or affected our stay. All in all, we had a really enjoyable holiday and would definitely return to the Gran Canaria Princess. We would happily recommend it.

The hotel's location is good: close to the center of Playa del Ingles, with bus stops right next to the hotel. A downside: there are homeless people hanging around the hotel. But that's not the fault of the hotel itself, but of the location itself. The rooms are clean and cleaned daily. However, after the first cleaning, door hanger was dissaper I used to inform the housekeeping staff not to enter, or to "do not disturb," or to go ahead with the cleaning went missing. Looking around at other rooms, these pendants were often used.

Food: Good and varied. I remember sushi one day, and Mexican dishes another. Unfortunately, the fries were a downside: they were hard. They were more like crackers than French fries. The coffee tasted more like a coffee and chocolate drink than coffee. Otherwise, the food was excellent.

Main bar: Friendly service, large selection of alcoholic beverages. When I ordered rum and Pepsi, the Pepsi was always served from a pre-capped 200ml bottle. Moreover, each table had a QR code so you could check what was available and at what price, depending on the meal plan you had purchased (all inclusive, all inclusive plus, etc.). Bartenders don't skimp on alcohol when making drinks.

Minus: no small vodka/tequila glasses.

The pool area had a pier, and in the middle, an island with another bar. A very interesting solution and a charming atmosphere.

Regarding the noise level: if you have windows facing the stage, you might dream of falling asleep until around 11:30 PM. Unless you fall asleep under any circumstances. Furthermore, the TVs are mounted on a wall adjacent to another room, and it seems the walls are thin, as you can hear your neighbor watching TV, even if he listens quietly.

Entertainment: Weird. Besides the evening performances, I didn't notice any animations, even though they were listed in the lobby. The evening performances were some interesting, others were cheesy.

The hotel's biggest drawback: the elevator! A disaster. Firstly, there's no fan inside, let alone any other form of cooling. Secondly, one of the elevators broke down, and for half my vacation, only two were running (in hotel with around 400 roms!). Thirdly, the elevator sometimes skipped my floor. Inside lift, one elevator didn't have the 4th floor marked, and the other had a broken elevator close button. The second example - it was irritating when was when the elevator stopped on a floor that wasn't used by anyone. It opened and closed very slowly. I often gave up on the elevator and preferred the stairs. Interestingly, I even saw some people on crutches prefer the stairs to the slow elevators.

When it comes to nationalities, the majority of hotel guests are Spanish, with a slightly smaller number of British (or Irish), Germans and Poles. I heard only 3 people from Scandinavia. I haven't heard any other languages ​​spoken.

Brilliant hotel. Entertainment on every night and about five minutes walk to the centre. Rooms are clean, spacious and bed is very comfy. Cocktails are delicious as well as the toasted sandwich. All the staff were great too. The only downside was the lifts. You could be waiting 10 minutes at a time.
