This attractive hotel is ideally located in the popular holiday resort of Playa del Inglés in the south of Gran Canaria. It features an outdoor pool, an excellent spa area, a gym, a restaurant and three bars. The resort centre with countless shops, restaurants, bars, pubs and entertainment options is within a short stroll; the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the beach.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Ok so this is our first and honest review. Hotel was nice along with the staff ( except 1 at the outdoor bar who actually stood and rolled her eyes at me when I asked if they had pink gin ) I was half board so paying which she could see by my wrist band. When challenged she looked away ( hope feeling guilty for the way she behaved)
Anyway like I said staff weee super nice and very accommodating.
Food !! Hmmm mostly cold so opted for salads etc
Pool !! Now this is where it all fell apart. At around 6.30 am every morning we were woken by sun beds being re positioned and by 7 am not one bed remained empty around the pool.
We ended up sitting in the smoking area near to main road as that was all that was left. We don’t smoke so found this unexceptionable but had no choice unless we got up at 6 am with the rest.
We Never used the pool due to being so far away from it ( friend struggles walking ) We did use the Jacuzzi at first however lots of family’s arrives and all there children were in it ( big sign said 16+ ) no one took any notice .
Reception said they new there was a huge problem with people reserving bed early and then not turning up till midday but did nothing to rectify this
Being British we were totally in the minority and never spoke to a single English person in 10 days.
I always go to Gran Canaria twice a year and have to say that I would not rush back to this hotel due to reasons above.
I hate to complain so we just went out. As others said all the tables outside were taken and loads reserved by 6.45 pm.
This hotel is an absolute dream! The rooms are incredibly clean and amazing, and the price is just right. The staff is fantastic, and the entertainment is top-notch. Don't even get me started on the food – it's amazing and so diverse! And if you're looking to relax, the spa treatment is wonderful, and the pools are simply great. 🤩🏨✨ #Hotel #Rooms #Price #Staff #Entertainment #Food #Spa #Pools
That’s our last evening so I decided to write the review as I have fresh view on the whole situation.
The hotel has great first impression. The lobby and the reception look great and the rooms are very spacious. Everything is very clean. Cleanliness is probably the biggest advantage of this places.
The rooms. As I mention before very clean and nice size but don’t come here without good earplugs. There’s no way you will sleep although after 3 days without sleep your body will be that tired you won’t bother anymore. Basicly you can hear every single word of your neighbours so you feel never alone even when sitting on the toilet.
The pool. In overall the pool is nice. Most facilities are great. Again very clean, but the tiles on the pool are broken in few places. Our son hurt his feet. Then we’ve met another family with child who done the same. Around the pool there’s plenty used plasters and on the reception woman said it’s not big deal it’s broken for 20 years and she don’t care.
Another “lovely” person from the pool area is Miryam aka “general Franco”. She is walking around the pool like angry dog and looking for people who break rules. She basically has problem with everyone who is not Spanish. For us that was an inflatable kids mattress which we were use all week until she appeared on the pool. She started talking to me in Spanish. I told her I don’t understand but she didn’t care and that was me. English is not my first language so I started talk to her in my own language after all that show she called a manger. After that she went to Spanish speakers guests who were sitting behind us and obviously talking and pointing on us.
Hotel doesn’t adverts itself as a Spanish speakers only so I don’t understand why person who speaks only her own language works on public area.
Anyway the evening entertainment and animation team are lovely. Very great shows and a lots of effort.
Drinks are poor. Most of them taste like alcohol free.
Drinking water is available all the time from the main bar but you need to have your own bottle.
Well, it looks impressive in both size and appearance but sorry to say that’s where the impression stops. The rooms are large and well equipped but missing what I would deem a 4 star hotel essential, a tea or coffee facility or even a kettle. Cleaning was hit and miss daily, and no pattern of methodology as they cleaned rooms either side first thing then came to mine at 3:45pm? Food both breakfast and evening meal was very poor. Limited availability and never very warm. Repetitive each day and great if you like fish or curries, but meat choices were spoiled with “extra” additives. Unfortunately ended up eating out for both breakfast and evening meals most days, after seeing what was on offer and yes the lack of seating available. Snack bar was good but long queues always at both. Bar staff hid and miss with the exception of Sergio at the pool bar, always happy smiling and chatty, all other staff should learn from this man on how to provide customer service!!!! Reception, well if you can tear them away from chatting and laughing and joking with each other, then you get unhelpful rudeness, service you would expect from a 1 star hostel accommodation. Spa was good although a little expensive for what you actually get, but was pretty quiet most afternoons. Pool was nice but a serious lack of sunbeds no matter what time of day. They display policies of no reservations but clearly don’t follow through, and just constantly walk past beds with towels but no one using them all day. Today two beds next to me were blocked with towels all day, between 09:30 and 14:30 with no one using them. I write this sat in the main bar area on my last night and have tried to ask about late checkout as I don’t fly till 9pm, but at 23:00, they can’t tell me if my room will be available and I have to come back in the morning at 8am! The excuse we don’t know who is checking in tomorrow??? Really! I have tried to post some positive features about this hotel, but it was very hard to find any except of course Sergio in the pool bar! 4 star hotel, sorry a long way off, would I return, No!
If hotels were given stars on the quality of services, rather than what services they offer, this would, imho, be a 5*. Pool areas, like the rest of the hotel, are cleaned well. I mentioned the pool as the guy cleaning it was given the smallest machine possible, but covered every inch. Food was really good for an all inclusive buffet. There’s a small live cooking station. There you can get omelettes, fried eggs, crepes, freshly cooked meat or fish, depending on what meal time it is, and what’s on offer. Bar service was good. Yes, at times had to wait a few minutes, but the quality of the drinks and service were good/very good. Entertainment was a lot better than some other hotels, with 2 lots of entertainment of a night, one inside, one outside. Apart from 1 couple of “singers” the others were good. Now for the not so good bits. Rooms are a bit strange, see pics. Open the door and the twin beds are just there. There are long corridors going to each room, which makes any noise amplified. Saying this the rooms are quite large. There is a window in the bathroom, the other side is your neighbours window, although it is none see through, if you have the light on, your neighbour can tell. Balcony is quite big, with 2 pull out dryers, table and 2 chairs. Overall, a very good experience. Yes we recommend and yes will be back.
