Excellent location room had eveything you needed basic but enough we had a room.at back of pool quiet enough reception helpful however not maned 24 hour but has a emergancy telephone number availble. it was quiet until our 5 day when another group arrived and where quite nosiey hey ho on holiday I guess but did like to move thier furniture about very loudly late in the eve and blast out some dodgy tunes no kylie or Taylor swift 😀 . Pool was fab however downside for us non smokers was majority or pep smoking around the pool not great but hey ho also smoking in and around apartments although they did have no smoking sign inside apartments . ( sorry not trying to be a kill joy here ) shops not far beach not far and yumbo not far. I would say that if you have trouble going up and down stairs this may not be for you but over all great little find would be great if it had a refurb bit of paint and maybe new white goods fridge etc . It's in the perfect location and very safe and secure .

Beautiful complex. everything you could possibly need was already provided, including cleaning products to toiletries. Internet worked perfectly and the owner we rented from was lovely, and is providing us with a taxi back to the airport 40% cheaper than the cost from the airport. Our stay would have been almost perfect, but my elderly dog had to be put to sleep yesterday which left us devastated. This morning my carer & family friend wanted to lay by the pool, but I am disabled and previously found it very hard to get back up from the sun lounger, so I decided to sit by the bar at a table and have a cigarette. There's no smoking in the apartment & I'm still very upset. I asked the 2 ladies at the bar for an ash tray so I could have a cigarette while I decided what drink to have. ( I had a bottle of apple juice to take out with me to drink for meds i havr to take throughout the day). The bar staff don't speak good English, but they knew enough to refuse giving me an ashtray, saying "this is the bar, it is not possible. I pointed out the man right nextt to me AT the bar was smoking and using an ashtray, and she pointed to his coffee and said " he got smoke AND coffee this is the bar". I had sat there throughout he week and smoked, with and without a drink. I told them I'm staying at the complex but they still refused. I didn't tell them I actually planned on having a drink, because I was so upset and embarrassed that I was reduced to tears, so at this point I said "forget it". I'll spend my money elsewhere. So in short, they refused to let a disabled lady sit at the table with a cigarette (I always have my walking stick so they know I struggle), who actually asked for an ashtray because I have enough respect not to drop my ash all over the floor, what a shame they didn't have enough respect to politely ask if I planned on having a drink.

After reading countless reviews from returning guests, I finally understand why people come back to this hotel year after year. Playamar Bungalows is a fantastic and affordable place to stay in Gran Canaria.

The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the rooms are clean and recently refurbished—something I was initially concerned about, especially since the booking platforms seem to use outdated photos. Thankfully, the reality exceeded my expectations.

The pool area is great, with sunbeds always available whenever you want to relax. The receptionist is incredibly kind and welcoming, and a special thanks goes to the housekeeping lady, who truly goes the extra mile to ensure a comfortable stay.

I will definitely be returning—this hotel is a true hidden gem.
