Really good experience and would happily use this hotel again. Yes the age profile is slightly higher than some resorts but that was a positive for us: quieter, with a more mature group of holiday makers enjoying a great place to recharge their batteries. Plenty of pool space: particularly at those nearer the main building (which also enjoy the benefit of a breeze) Food in the buffet is plentiful and nicely prepared. There is a really nice promenade at the front of the hotel and a lovely long walk along the promenade and beach in front of the dunes if you turn left out of the seafront entrance (just be aware there is a lengthy nudist area) We found the staff to be attentive, polite, helpful and very efficient. Can understand why people say they have returned.
This was our 3rd time staying at this beautiful 5* hotel, the last time being 8 years ago. Could not fault anything about this hotel again. Beautifully maintained large open space grounds with plenty of sunbeds at each of the lovely pools. Wonderful staff and service exceptional. Food is excellent with a wide selection and freshly made. Love the fact you can dine outside. We booked a standard room but on arrival was told we had been allocated an upgraded room. Will definately be back at this hotel again in the future.
The hotel whilst aesthetically pleasing falls short in a number of areas. I completely understand the appeal for the more mature clientele but for those in their mid term years I would caution against and suggest alternative RIU resorts on the island. The gym has very limited equipment targeted at those who want a token gesture towards exercise as the facility lacks the variety of equipment required to perform full muscle groups during your stay. The service is very poor and almost self service rather than table service (currently waiting 50 mins for someone to take a non alcoholic drinks order). The food is mediocre unless you enjoy full fat food and water as a hidden tax served at your table. Would recommend Riu Palace Palmares over this resort 10 times over or even Papyrus (only 4 star). Only 2 days in to this stay and left me questioning the decision to book RIU!
Just returned from a very nice and relaxing 11 nights at this hotel.
Nothing negative to say to be honest…….rooms great, food fab and the staff are brilliant. Management if you see this then please recognise one of your waiters, Jose in the restaurant… absolutely fantastic. interacting with guests, certainly puts a smile on your face :)
The usual sunbeds wars do happen (manly at the infinity pool) but there are plenty of sunbeds available at all times…. Never once had to get up early to reserve. Never sampled the entertainment as was always out and about on a night.
Super hotel in a super location. Will definitely return.
A well maintained hotel and grounds. All credit to staff who make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. Buffet style breakfast and evening meal with a good choice of hot and cold food. Your table is assigned on your first visit so no need to look for a seat. A casual atmosphere so no need for formal dress.(So no need to change your outfit straight after your meal). Didn’t go to on site restaurants where a more fitting attire should be worn. Evening entertainment ok to good. The tables in the outdoor seating all have ashtrays and the area is large enough not to impact on non smokers. Sun loungers available all day so no need to reserve a spot. Obviously the pirates get up early for their preferred place(guilty). The hotel is ok for those with reduced mobility but you may need to find the best route. Just ask a member of staff. The location is relaxed and comfortable. English beach is a short taxi ride away that caters for the party crowd. Hotel riu palace meloneras offers excellent value for money. The team are well deserving of their 5 star status. Download the Riu app and it gives you more information about entertainment, menus and amenities.
