We come to this place every year and this place is always great. Very friendly staff, even with a lot of people in the hotel you don’t feel overcrowded. We love it and we will be back again.
We had an absolutely fabulous two weeks here, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone. Our last couple of holidays were in boutique, adult-only hotels, therefore there was a bit of reservation in staying in somewhere so huge. We needn't have worried though as the place is run so well.
Entertainment in the hotel is first class. We caught the end of the flamenco show one night coming back from dinner and it was so good that we made sure we attended the full show the following week.
In reading a few reviews prior to booking, we decided to go B&B only and I'm very glad we did. There are dozens of restaurants within a few minutes walk and we ended up eating in 9 different ones over the holiday. We also ate in each of the restaurants that are situated within the resort itself and all were great. Bevir and Kabuki are fantastic.
The bus station is a 5 min walk from the hotel with buses that go all over the island very cheaply. We visited several other resorts. Absolute musts are Puerto de Mogan and Las Palmas. For the latter make sure you get off the bus in Vegueta / Triana first as this is the old part of the capital and by far the most interesting. We went to LP twice - the first time to the old and new parts, and the second time to Vegueta / Triana only as it was so lovely.
There is loads to do round here and we had a totally wonderful holiday.
I’ve been here 3 times and enjoyed everytime til now. The place is beautiful and amenities are great but our treatment by staff this time has been really bad due to a horrible situation.
Myself and my Husband always sunbathe in the adult nude area. Today we got back from beach, dropped our towels and bag off and went for a swim.
My husband went to grab a couple of drinks, and I went back to sort towels out and move bag, I answered a text message and within a minute I was screamed at from the opposite side to remove my shorts. I was told if he wasn’t wearing his, I shouldn’t wear mine being in the nude area. I said that I’ve sat down for a minute and I will in my own time. I was completely shocked by this as he did in front of other couples and made me feel really embarrassed. He was very aggressive that I needed to strip off. When a guy coming to collect the bins walked in, he screamed at the guy for me to be removed because I was wearing shorts and shouldn’t be there. I can’t stress enough my husband wasn’t even back with our drinks yet, this is how quickly it unfolded.
The worker asked if I wouldn’t mind moving to defuse the situation, which I declined, because I’m not being dictated to when I remove my shorts, especially by an aggressive man. I asked for management and waited over 30 minutes before leaving because felt uncomfortable. We then spoke to reception who said security would speak to the man, that never happened. We’ve made a formal complaint and no one has done anything, other than log it into a book.
If he screamed at a woman by herself to remove her swimsuit, it would have been a completely different outcome. I now don’t feel comfortable and now worry how the rest of our trip will go.
Fourth stay here, chosen to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday and our 11th anniversary — but this trip has been overshadowed by how the hotel handled a serious incident.
In the nudist pool area, my husband was aggressively shouted at by another guest and told to remove his shorts, despite having only just arrived. This happened in front of several other guests and was intimidating. A pool worker said he’d get a manager, no one came. We reported it at reception, were told security would speak to the guest, nothing happened. We followed up again hours later; still no action.
The next day, a manager called, confirmed nothing had been done, and told us the incident “wasn’t an emergency.” When I explained we’d left the hotel for the day because my husband felt anxious, he showed no sympathy, suggested my husband was somehow to blame for “intimidating” the other guest by not complying fast enough, and when I asked directly what priority level aggressive and harassing guest behaviour is given, he laughed.
For a hotel we’ve returned to multiple times, this response to a guest safety concern was genuinely shocking. Beautiful property, but management’s handling of this was completely unacceptable.
We are sitting in reception ready to leave after a very pleasant week.
There has been a major refurbishment since our last visit in 2019.
The rooms are functional with modern accessories, powerful hairdryer, demist button on the bathroom mirror ( I only found that yesterday) USB plug socket next to the bed , fridge, kettle and bathrobes. We were in a standard deluxe room. However, the air conditioning cooling set point is at 22* throughout, so if you like your bedroom to be cooler this isn’t the hotel for you. My room 3353 had a set point of 19* which I’m told is very unusual and it must have been authorised by management previously
The sunbed situation is ok , the lifeguard start at 9.50 and will remove towels from saved beds. To make it better if they could monitor beds after 10 , we noticed beds were being left for up to 3 hours which isn’t fair. At a hotel I visited previously a marker was placed on these beds and if they weren’t used after 1 1/2 hrs the towels were removed.
The restaurants have been amalgamated so it is now one large buffet in the centre with different seating areas either side. This worked very well and the selection of breakfast was amazing, I cannot comment on the evening meal as we were B & B
Overall, this is a lovely hotel, very good location on a beautiful promenade with lots of restaurants and shops.
