Unacceptable Conditions and Very Poor Service
A Very Disappointing Stay — Far Below the Standard We Expected
Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and fell far short of the standard we expected.
We were travelling with a child, and the air conditioning in our room was not working. The room was extremely hot, stuffy, and uncomfortable, making it very difficult to sleep and relax properly. We asked the reception desk for an additional fan to make the situation at least somewhat more bearable, but the staff made no serious effort to help or offer a solution.
The attitude of the reception staff was particularly disappointing. We reported the problem, but we saw no genuine attempt to resolve it, offer us another room, or provide any alternative. In the end, we simply had to deal with the situation ourselves.
To make matters worse, one morning water started leaking from the ceiling in our room. This was yet another indication that no one was making any real effort to fix the problems.
The restaurant was also extremely hot and stuffy, and the ventilation was clearly inadequate. Eating in such conditions was unpleasant, especially when travelling with a child.
We understand that technical problems can sometimes occur. However, what matters much more is how the hotel responds to such situations. In our case, what disappointed us most was the complete lack of prompt action, proper communication, and willingness to help on the part of the staff.
For the price and standard advertised by the hotel, we expected a much higher level of service and basic comfort.
Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel and would not choose to stay there again in the future.
Not for people with food allergies.
Not for people with food allergies, staff don't know the basics. Raw chicken and cooked chicken with same tongs. Coeliac people avoid avoid avoid, Spoke to the maitre d on several occasions to point out the obvious to which they replied sir we're not perfect. Clued up would help.. Spoke to the tui rep and he got the usual cross contamination risks reply from the hotel management. Theres no risk involved you will get glutened.

This room is the worst in the hotel after visiting many times and this was our 2nd time this year we were rewarded with a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine as valued customers and allocated the worst room in the hotel It is located next to the gym and all the budding mr /mrs attempts to brake world records end with the loudest bang as the weights crash to the floor You also have the added bonus of being directly over the workshop The air conditioning is a joke I will never return again if you are allocated this room refuse point blank would be my advice
Good hotel but could be great
I’ve just returned from a week at the Taibaba. I really would have loved to have given it a higher rating but there are some pretty major issues in my opinion which can be easily fixed.
Pros Beautiful grounds and the pools are big and inviting. Whilst not heated, there are lots of shallow areas so the water is warm Plenty of sunbeds which were a packed a little to close together so we ended up booking the Balinese beds at an extra cost each day (€20) The buffet was good, plenty of choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The grilled meats did run out fast so we were left waiting a lot whilst more meat was cooked. The junior suit was really big with a huge shower and good hairdryer
Cons AIRCON or lack there of! This really lets the hotel down as it’s not just the rooms that are roasting, the whole hotel is! Don’t bother complaining as they really don’t care. The rooms are so hot and humid, my clothes smelt damp! The birds in the outside dining area are disgusting. They eat off plates on tables and fly so close to you. Some netting could easily be installed to stop them The reception staff were uninterested and didn’t even ask if we enjoyed our stay when we checked out. Everything seemed to be an inconvenience for them.
I would go back but only when the aircon issue has been resolved. The hotel is a little out of the way but a taxi to both Melonares and Plata Del Inglés were only €6.

Good experience, nice hotel and area
Spent a week at the Tabaiba Princess Hotel in Gran Canaria.
The hotel is kept very clean and is very picturesque.
Location: closest bars and restaurants are on maspalomas beach front which is either a 30min walk downhill or a 5-10min taxi drive away. Playa Del Ingles is a great area for bars and restaurants as well and it also has a lovely beach, this is about a 15-20min taxi away.
Rooms: our room was cleaned daily, was very spacious and had a view of the palm trees surrounding the pool area. One major thing was the lack of aircon/aircon strength. Made for a few uncomfortable nights when it was particularly humid.
Pools: the pool areas were lovely, plenty of sunbeds available, no need to reserve. Option to pay for the luxury, covered sun lounges also. Man made beaches around the pools made by small pebbles and stones made for a slightly uncomfortable entrance but once in they were lovely, just wear a pair of sandals to the pool side.
Food: the main restaurant was an all you can eat buffet style, food choices changed daily but the standard chips, pasta and pizza were widely available. Best meal of the day for me was the breakfast, great options. Pool side snack bars were also great. We also ate at the Asian restaurant which I would say is not worth the visit, meat items were not cooked well, and the dishes just didn’t make much sense. Again, the lack of aircon in the restaurant was particularly frustrating, sitting next to other guests sharing the same discomfort.
