Seaside Palm Beach

We stayed for a week at this well established hotel. Lovely big comfortable bedroom. We got used to the rather small bathroom. Lovely balcony over the restaurant and pool. Yes, there are quite a few older couples there but they were lovely. Food was at a high standard & drinks too. The pool bar was really nice to sit at while having a drink before you went up to get ready for dinner. After a few days the staff got to know you and were very friendly & hard working. Plenty of sunbeds and a great main pool. In a really good position too and not even five minutes walk to the beach. Good quality shops in this very nice resort. We used Jet 2 and we found them very good, definitely recommend them.

If you want to leave the air conditioning on when you are out of your room, just leave your second key card in and there is no problem at all!

Spent a week here very recently, following a recommendation from someone we met last year while staying at a different hotel. This was a good decision. The hotel is excellent - perfectly placed for the town and the beach. Maspalomas beach is the best one we have ever visited. We had a good start. We arrived early and were upgraded to a room on the 6th floor which was a bonus. Very friendly staff on reception and a welcome drink! Room was very comfortable and a welcome bottle of bubbly on the first night together with a fruit basket. Every night we were given bottled water. TV was large and we had a number of UK channels ( albeit the free is ones - but mainstream channels though) which was refreshing. We had half board and the food was excellent. Some nights were barbecue meals and others were buffet style, but in either case the food was cooked to order and hot and of high quality. The same applied at breakfast - plentiful, cooked to order hot food and very friendly staff all round. Just one grumble - the pool sunbeds. The pool staff were obliging but some couples were commandeering four beds and two umbrellas which seemed to be tolerated. Others had beds reserved all day that were never used - despite the hotel policy of not reserving beds. Anyway, this was the only real issue, and we most certainly will return next time. Thank you Palm Beach - we look forward to our next visit!

Lovely hotel,on the whole staff were friendly & helpful, especially the pool guys & the staff at the bar Africa, especially Leo! Check in was quick but sadly no upgrade was offered & no welcome drinks even though we had to wait a couple of hours for our room to be ready! The food was good, especially the breakfast. On the 2nd week there was quite a wait to be seated for the evening meal but there seemed to be more guests there. The dress code for the men is long trousers & closed in shoes, a bit much in the heat,maybe smart shorts could be worn! Our room was ok,the bathroom was a bit small & the view was of the roof of the childrens club,however we did feel that we were very tucked away,it felt like it was where some of the staff slept! Itwas cleaned every day, plenty of water supplied & chocolate in the evenings. The entertainment was ok, the saxophonist & the lovely quirky lady who played the violin were very good! The service at the African bar & round the pool areas could be improved, we did find that particular guests seemed to have preferential treatment! There were a few children at the hotel but it is more of an adults hotel. It's a great location with the dunes & the beach close by, there are plenty of bars & restaurants within walking distance. We had a lovely holiday, with great weather but didn't offer the 5 star experience which we were hoping for!
