This apartment complex is situated amongst green gardens by the beach. Restaurants offering buffet and à la carte meals, as well as bars and pubs can be found in the immediate vicinity, whilst the town of San Fernando is 8 km away.
The family-friendly hotel has a total of 255 rooms and is fully air-conditioned. There is a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service, as well as hotel safe, currency exchange facilities, cloakroom and lift access. Other facilities include on-site café, bar, pub and restaurant, as well as hairdressing salon, auditorium, games room, conference facilities and wireless Internet access. Room and laundry services are provided, whilst guests arriving by car can leave their vehicles in the hotel's own private car park. The hotel also operates a bike hire service and there is a children's playground for the younger guests.
The hotel features comfortable rooms with unbeatable sea views from their huge balconies. Rooms are en suite with bathtub and hairdryer and include direct dial telephone, satellite TV with international channels, mini-fridge/minibar, tea and coffee making facilities and a room safe. Ceiling fans have been fitted in the rooms and they are also air-conditioned.
The resort includes outdoor swimming pools with an area for children. Guests can relax on the sun loungers and shade themselves with the parasols which are laid out on the sun terrace by the pool. Refreshments are available just a few steps away at the poolside snack bar. There is an on-site gym and a sauna, steam room and hot tub. Massage and spa treatments are also available. Further activities available at the resort include tennis, table tennis, bocce, 18-hole mini-golf, golf (on the driving range) and trampolining. Entertainment programmes are provided for children and adults, whilst water sports such as diving, wind surfing and canoeing are available on the nearby beach, as is beach volleyball.

Totally relaxing stay
We arrived late due to flight delay and was welcomed by friendly and helpful reception staff who booked us in and offered evening meal for late arrivals (Nice touch). The food throughout our stay was well cooked and well presented, there was always multiple choices daily and the sweets and ice cream were amazing. The staff here are always very friendly, helpful, polite and cant do enough to make your stay a pleasure; I don't know how they do it to be honest as they are constantly on the go and always seem to go the extra mile, Housekeeping staff were great and again if I'm honest sometimes there does not seem to be enough staff during high turnaround days and on these days room cleaning is delayed and late. The room we had was lovely, clean and had a beautiful view of the sea and hotel grounds. The shopping plaza across the road has everything you need Restaurants, supermarkets, gift shops and a lovely chinese restaurant/takeaway. What I will say is the supermarkets are quite expensive for certain items like chocolate, coffee etc. The atmosphere was relaxed and reasonably quiet for most of the time, the entertainment was good and the TUI Blue reps were amazing. We will definitely be coming back to the Orquidea hotel really ticked all the boxes for us.

Honest
Great, clean, friendly hotel. Food fantastic. We had a short break and couldn't believe the standard of food and drinks..the staff friendly. Clean and tidy. Could do with a few weeks here and there to make this hotel a gem but honestly great value.
Phone stolen
This resort is not a place if you want personal safety. My phone was stolen within 5 minutes hidden under a towel by the pool, and someone thought it was their right to take the phone as their own. Tui reps and reception staff weren’t interested, and shrugged their shoulders and said maybe call the police, even after I explained we couldn’t ring as they stole my phone and my sister had recently returned from Australia with no working phone. My driving license and bank card had been taken too. We had the location which was only 4 miles away but didn’t feel safe confronting them to retrieve the phone. We felt unsafe to return to the pool for our last 2 days after this with the feeling of being watched by staff and not feeling safe being there. Restaurant and bar staff were amazing, very friendly, helpful and nothing was too much for them. As a tui resort, we expected more support staff after this incident.
Value for money
The Orquidea hotel was the best all inclusive resort that I have stayed at! The staff were extremely helpful (as were the TUI reps who were usually on hand) The grounds and pool areas were well maintained and the sun beds were plentiful. The restaurant was very well run and the food i thought was excellent with plenty of things to choose from. There were no problems with the room the aircon might need a bit of updating but was perfectly adequate while we were there The fact that there was no beach close by might be a bit of a deterrent but not a problem for us Finally we thought it was very good value for what we paid but we booked up fairly late so there was a discount, even so we had a great time.

Me and my daughter have just came back from a 4 night stay , overall really pleased with the hotel . Only small problem we couldn’t get into our room until 2pm which I hadn’t read about before hand .
