Great holiday at the hotel Riu Vistamar
I felt I needed to write a review having read some negative reviews prior to our holiday. My daughter and I have had a lovely time at the Riu Vistamar. The staff were always cleaning, happy and willing to help you. There are sanitisers all round the hotel so guests should take responsibility for their own personal hygiene as I saw many people not washing hands after being to the toilet. The food was always fresh and replenished regularly with plenty of dishes to choose from. The Asian restaurant was also very good. The entertainment team were great and funny. I will definitely visit again.

Wonderful stay at Riu Vistamar
We had a wonderful stay at Riu Vistamar in Gran Canaria and would definitely recommend it. The rooms are spacious, with a very comfortable large bed. Everything was spotless, and housekeeping did an excellent job every day. The bed linen and towels were changed regularly, which we really appreciated. The food was very good, especially dinner. There was a great variety of dishes every evening, and everything we tried was delicious. We also enjoyed the drinks and the desserts, which were excellent. The view is absolutely breathtaking! We stayed on the second floor with a room overlooking Amadores Beach, and waking up to that panoramic ocean view every morning was unforgettable. The staff were amazing—friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. One thing to keep in mind is that the hotel is built on a steep hillside. Everything is connected by stairs and elevators, so you may need to wait for the lifts, especially during busy times. The reception is on level 8, the main restaurant on level 7, and the pools are on levels 10–12. It wasn't a problem for us, but it's worth knowing before you book. The Riu Party at Riu Gran Canaria is fantastic and definitely worth attending. You can book it through the hotel, and a shuttle bus takes you there and back. The hotel also provides a shuttle bus to Amadores Beach. Puerto Rico Shopping Center is nearby, and Mogan Mall is about a 30-minute walk away, or you can take a taxi for around €7–9. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday. Great food, comfortable rooms, stunning views, and outstanding staff made our stay truly enjoyable. We would happily come back!

Just arrived home last night unfortunately! This holiday was one of the best we have had! We booked the holiday through TUI and the whole experience was seamless from start to finish. We arrived late last Thursday evening (11pm) and we all had food especially for us waiting, reception team all on hand to greet and help us, with smiles on their faces. The room was absolutely spotless, modern and ready for our arrival. Waking up the next morning was breathtaking. The views were incredible (room 589 if you can request!) The food and service was impeccable from start to finish. Any area of the hotel has an unbelievable view if the sea. If you needed to order a taxi at reception they were always there with in a minute. The taxi service is run by the government and every taxi was also spotless with drivers in uniforms. We are now going to work our way through each RIU hotels through the canaries. Working I the hotel industry for 20 years myself in the UK, I can say we have a lot to live up to. Fabulous people and place ♥️
Lovely hotel.
Fabulous hotel. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent with a wide variety of choice. There was a different choice of carved meats available every day. The hotel is on top of a cliff and there are loads of steps. The pools are at the top via steps but are clean. Loads of sun beds available but some ignorant people still reserved beds and didn’t turn up until later in the day. Very annoying to watch some people struggling when others are just annoying.

Honest review
We came here for 7 nights on the 2nd July. The hotel was pleasantly clean, the food was nice but quite repetitive. The rooms were clean, beds comfy too! We enjoyed the sports bar and its air conditioning as it was very hot, unfortunately the toilets were out of order for the majority of our stay which meant us having to go down to use reception. I do NOT recommend this hotel if you’re a smoker.. you cannot smoke in ANY of the bars or around the pools, you get a designated spot to smoke.. next to the bins, this is the only thing really that has put us off going back to the hotel completely and also the lifts were a NIGHTMARE. Overall it was a nice stay and definitely 4* hotel.
