SBH Maxorata Resort

We had a really fun holiday at this hotel and there is great potential for this to be a 4*+ hotel. The scenery around the hotel is stunning and it’s so close to the beach. We would definitely return. The staff couldn’t do enough for you and every member worked incredibly hard. We found that the facilities (e.g. food hall, pools, entertainment, etc.) were too small for the amount of people staying here. It was very crowded and we felt that there was not enough staff to accommodate this amount of people. This, on many occasions, meant that there were long queues at bars and food services, which took away from that ‘all inclusive’ experience.

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at SBH Maxorata Resort and, after our experience, we honestly don't understand some of the negative reviews we had read before arriving. We travelled as a group of seven – four adults and three children – and from our point of view, this hotel absolutely delivered. THE ROOM Our family room was HUGE. We had a separate bedroom while our boys slept in the living area, which gave us plenty of space. The balcony was absolutely massive too and was a great bonus. Housekeeping came every day. Towels were changed, bins emptied both in the room and bathroom, and everything was kept clean throughout our stay. We genuinely couldn't ask for more. THE FOOD – WOW! This was probably one of the biggest highlights of the holiday. With seven people in our group, including three children, you would expect at least somebody to struggle to find something they liked. That simply wasn't the case. There is an incredible amount of choice and genuinely something for everyone – even the fussy eaters! Fresh meat is cooked right in front of you in the restaurant, as is fresh fish, alongside a huge selection of other dishes. There was always plenty of fresh fruit and a ridiculous selection of cakes and desserts. Everything we tried was fresh and there was always something different to choose from. The restaurant staff deserve a special mention too. They work incredibly hard. Tables are cleared and prepared again at lightning speed and, even as a group of seven, we always managed to find somewhere to sit. One important piece of advice though: if you decide to eat outside, NEVER leave your food unattended! 😂 You may meet the hotel's unofficial restaurant inspector – the very confident feathered gentleman in my photo. He takes food quality control extremely seriously and will happily inspect your plate the second you turn your back! 😂😂 POOL BAR & DRINKS The pool bar was amazing and easily one of our favourite places during the day. Great atmosphere, drinks readily available and exactly what you want on a sunny Fuerteventura holiday. The bars obviously get busier in the evening, but that's completely understandable in a large all-inclusive resort and it never spoiled our experience. ENTERTAINMENT We didn't interact with the animation team as much as some families probably do because we spent quite a lot of our holiday doing our own thing and exploring the island, but from everything we saw they were absolutely brilliant. They had fantastic energy, were constantly interacting with guests and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they were doing. LOCATION & BEACH The beach is around a 10-minute walk away at most and it is absolutely beautiful. Just remember that the beach isn't operated by the hotel, so anything relating specifically to the beach is outside the hotel's control. THE CHILDREN LOVED IT – AND SO DID WE For us, that's ultimately what matters on a family holiday. All three children had a fantastic time, the adults were able to relax and enjoy ourselves, and we came home feeling that we'd had a proper holiday. Is it possible to walk around looking for tiny things to complain about? Probably. You could do that at almost any large resort. But judging SBH Maxorata on the things that actually mattered to us – the rooms, cleanliness, food, facilities, staff, atmosphere, location and how much the children enjoyed themselves – we were extremely happy. We arrived as seven people hoping for a great holiday in Fuerteventura. We left with some fantastic memories together. ❤️ A massive thank you to everyone at SBH Maxorata Resort who works so hard behind the scenes every single day to make that happen. Would we recommend it to other families and groups? Absolutely. Would we stay here again? Without hesitation. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five very well deserved stars from all of us. P.S. Seriously… keep an eye on your breakfast if you're eating outside. That bird is FAST. 😂

We’ve now stayed at this hotel twice within the last month and honestly, I think that says everything! ❤️ We loved our first visit so much that we had to come back and a huge reason for returning was the incredible animation team. The animation team were absolutely amazing with both myself and my children. They went above and beyond, giving us so much time, attention and genuinely making our holiday special. My children formed such lovely bonds with them, and seeing how happy and excited they were every day made the experience even more memorable.

A massive special shout-out to Isla, she is absolutely incredible at her job! Her energy, kindness and ability to connect with the children really stood out. Also a big thank you to Luca, Minea, Pierre and David, you were all fantastic and we really hope to see you again on a future visit because you genuinely made our holiday.

In fact, I can honestly say that the animation team are the main reason we would return to this hotel again. They really do deserve an extra special mention and recognition for what they bring to the whole holiday experience. ⭐️

All of the staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming and the food was great too. Overall, we had another fantastic stay and created some really special memories as a family.

I do have a couple of small points for improvement. Some of the tiles around the infinity pool need repairing and in the mornings when the pool area is being hosed down, it would be great if the floors were also properly scrubbed with a brush rather than simply being rinsed, as some dirt is still left behind, again with the sunbeds.

But honestly, these are minor points compared with how much we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel may be rated as a 3-star, but the animation team definitely tip the experience towards 4-star for us! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
