⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a fantastic family stay at Barceló Occidental Jandía Mar Resort with our family of four, including our two small children.
The customer service throughout our stay was excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and always happy to help, which made such a difference when travelling with young kids. The food was okay overall — there was enough choice, although it wasn’t necessarily the highlight of our stay.
We opted for a €20 upgrade, and for us it was absolutely worth it. The hotel itself could probably benefit from a few upgrades and some refreshing here and there, but overall, we found it comfortable, enjoyable and a great place for a family holiday.
A very special thank you to Vanessa, who was absolutely incredible. She was so friendly, warm and genuinely lovely with our children, and she was brilliant at keeping them entertained. My wife and I also had a lovely chat with her while enjoying our drinks, which made us feel so welcome and relaxed. She was equally fantastic as a host around the restaurant/buffet area.
We understand that the staff rotate duties each day, but wherever Vanessa is working, she is a real asset to the hotel. She deserves to be very well looked after and recognised for the fantastic job she does! 🙌
Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend Barceló Occidental Jandía Mar Resort to other families. We would absolutely come back ourselves — hopefully we’ll see Vanessa again too! 😊
Thank you to all the team for making our family holiday such a memorable one. ❤️
Overall great resort, absolutely nothing to complain about in terms of food, accommodation and facilities in the Jandia Mar. The entertainment team went above and beyond each night to make our stay (particularly the night) as fun as possible. Names I can drop include the likes of Jay, Omar, Oliwia and Clara. These three were the faces of the team for us and you can tell they love what they do day in day out.
I’ll preface this with I’ve been to several hotels in the area (Iberiostar, Jandía playa etc) over the past 4 years all inclusive and after this trip I won’t do all inclusive again. I don’t know if it’s this hotel or all of them now, but service at the desk was incredibly slow, my personal coffee mug was taken from the room, the food is poor. As someone who likes organisation, it just stressed me out over the obvious bottlenecks at meal times. Food is poor quality and outside the restaurant times there is almost nothing. Maybe a cheap pre cooked burger or hotdogs but that’s it. Working water machines are impossible to find - you have to trek round the hotel to get water, finding a working coffee machine is equally difficult. It completely defeats the point of all inclusive. A complete waste of money and never coming back. Also the waterpark is closed on Monday, that’s not in the info. Pools are open 10-6pm so limits on those to entertain children. Give it a miss, try something else
Hotel was beautiful the rooms are really spacious we had ground floor patios 3 rooms in a row really good for the kids to be able to walk from room to room the entertainment during the day and night is amazing Food was ok maybe more of a kids selection in the evening meal would be great. The slides at the water park were all closed during our stay which was disappointing one of the main reasons for booking and I do think the mini golf should be free to play the deposit for the equipment is understandable. Overall great stay and would stay again.
Had a wonderful time, good food, drink and saff. Never done an all inclusive before. Highly recommended
