Buganvilla Hotel & Spa is across the promenade from the Morro Jable lighthouse and the sweeping sands of Playa de Jandía in the southwestern part of the island of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. The pale-painted hotel buildings are set around gardens planted with palm trees and other native flora, with plenty of places to relax with a drink from the poolside bar. There are two outdoor swimming pools at the hotel, one of which is smaller, shallow and designed for children and the other is heated. There's also a heated indoor pool. The hotel spa has a whirlpool, as well as a sauna and Turkish bath; and you can also book treatments here. There's a private gym near the spa, or you might prefer a less strenuous game of table tennis. The hotel has two restaurants offering Mediterranean and international cuisine, as well as a bar and a café. The poolside bar serves light meals.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Me and my family came here for spring break! It was a good experience. Room was very clean, and the shower was nice. My bed was a little uncomfortable as I had to sleep on the sofa bed however, that is to be expected. Some of the reviews said the food is oriented towards a German clientele, and I can definitely see that. However, it wasn’t bad. The pool was nice with good access, as you could choose between stairs or a gradual slope down. We could always find chairs in a good spot, and the snack bar, while small, was good. It had easy beach access and the hotel had a wonderful view. It was also surrounded by shops and restaurants. Overall, this was a very good and relaxing experience.
Terrible. We went as a family of 11 for a special occasion. We were not offered a complimentary welcome drink, even though we noticed all arriving German guests were. The hotel is totally geared for German clientele. The food was mainly German oriented. It was of poor quality, tasteless and luke warm. We were made to feel like outsiders from the staff being unfriendly to the German guests who treated us with contempt. Our 3 young grandchildren were constantly tutted at and frowned upon for bringing noisy at the pool. The entertainment was all in German and was aimed for a more elderly audience. We have all come home disappointed and upset by this experience.
We are still at hotel just now, food and drink poor, staff not very friendly especially bar staff so rude. If you are gluten free there is no choice only bread and cake at breakfast asked at lunchtime didn't have anything, lived off fruit and salad all week good for losing weight not ideal on holiday. I had emailed holiday prior to booking to ensure gluten free was available and assured it was ?? Best thing about hotel is the cleaning staff our room is spotless had to wait two days for it to be cleaned as no cleaning staff on a Sunday. Won't be back disappointed also workmen outside our room very noisy
The hotel is very well situated in the centre of the shopping area, and a 5 minute walk to the beach. There is a small pool located at the hotel but loads and loads of sunbeds to sunbathe, never struggled to find free ones no matter what time of day. All inclusive beer is better than most places I've been and my partner was more than happy with the wine. Food choice was ample and plentiful and tasty to boot. Rooms were very good, balcony with all and a great shower. Maid service is every day except Sunday, staff friendly, efficient and helpful. Entertainment is provided every night, but some nights better than others, think lower end of cabaret and you're not far away. The downsides if you can call them that, Not really much to do for young children/families. Not much nightlife outside the hotel and not many bars or restaurants either. If you want a relaxing holiday to do not very much then this place is perfect. That said there are various activities available (at a cost) should you so desire, we did jetski, buggy ride, dolphin watch and had a massage at the hotel.
To sum up, we would recommend this hotel
As the title says, nice hotel if you are German. It is a very German orientated hotel. The food, entertainment etc. I am used to different hotels in Fuerteventura and don't mind a bit of a mix, but this one struck me as being very German orientated. I've still given it four stars, because it deserves that for being spotlessly clean, friendly staff and all the things that a good hotel should be, but I felt a bit out of place there.
If you want a quiet break then its ideal, but with the clientele being mostly elderly Germans, you might find it a little too quiet at times.
The food was always good, but very German. The restaurant was quite small and always busy. As a solo traveler I always take a book with me to get a table so that I can go and get food and come back to it. On a couple of occasions here I came back to people sitting at my table. Not ideal,
I spoke to only one English family there who had young children, and they felt very out of place.
For me, I will be sticking to the bigger busier hotels on my next trips. Nothing badly wrong with this one, but it just didn't suit me.
