Esencia de Fuerteventura

We are currently staying in the so-called "Esencia" section of the Fuerteventura Princess.

Although bookings for Esencia are currently unavailable until November because the area is not fully finished, we were surprised to find that several of the advertised features were not available. For example, there is no separate restaurant

If you're expecting a noticeably different experience from the main hotel, you may be disappointed. The Esencia pool is quiet and the bar is very nice, but there are still children around the pool area even though it is supposed to be an adults-only (16+) section, we were since told this isn’t in place till November as Esencia doesn’t exist !!

On arrival, we were given standard wristbands and checked in at the main reception. We were not informed that there was a separate Esencia reception, and there was no clear branding or signage. We eventually had to ask for the correct All Inclusive Plus and Esencia wristbands ourselves, which was not a great start to the holiday.

Overall, the Esencia area feels unfinished and, in our opinion, is not worth the additional upgrade cost, especially as the experience is quite different from what is being advertised.

We have also had issues with very noisy neighbours. The walls seem paper thin.

Some reception staff had come round the pool asking about their stay, so I took my opportunity to express my complaints. We were told the Esencia side of the hotel doesn't exist unit November.

As much we get to use the bar near the pool and the snack bar, this isn't exclusive at all as anyone can come and use it which they do.

The food and drinks have been excellent, and we have no complaints in that regard. Unfortunately, due to the issues above, we would not return and will be contacting our travel company when we get home.

We have just returned from a week's stay at Fuerteventura Princess and overall had a pleasant holiday.

The hotel's location is excellent, with direct access to a beautiful beach, and the food was consistently good, with plenty of choice at each meal.

However, there were several aspects that could be improved. Communication about the hotel's services and activities was poor. The app frequently displayed incorrect or outdated information, making it difficult to know what was actually happening. We only discovered by chance, one day before leaving, that guests could use another restaurant within the complex—information that should have been made much clearer on arrival.

The main restaurant also has extremely poor acoustics. Every sound is amplified, creating a very noisy atmosphere, particularly with the large number of very young children. It made meals much less relaxing than they could have been.

Service was inconsistent. While some members of staff were friendly and helpful, others appeared rather unwelcoming, and even simple transactions often took an unnecessarily long time.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay thanks to the excellent location, beach access and good food. With better communication, more efficient service and improvements to the restaurant environment, the experience would have been significantly better

FUERTEVENTURA PRINCESS The appeal has gone... Firstly, change of room required as strong fishy smell in the toilet ,bath with signs of mold ,... .we checked in after queuing 45min+ , we called reception after viewing the room. We were asked to visit reception at 10 in the morning for a change of room. We finally got a different room after 3 the day after arriving and with the help of a fantastic, polite ,helpful member of public relations staff, Evelina. The reception lead was making an offer that was unacceptable and thanks to the intervention of pprr member of staff we got a change of room without having to pay an extra 12 euros per person per day !!. This is our 4th visit to the hotel and from our first to now ,the declive in services,restaurant,staff is noticeable. Some members of staff don't speak Spanish, nor Engilsh,nor German! We encountered others that have had falls ( a Spanish lady at the volleyball area), gastroenteritis (a British lady ) myself tummy cramps after eating prawns that were frozen ,didn't happen just once ....last time I complained and asked for them to be removed ,while I did the staff a young woman who didn't understand me speaking Spanish or english and a young man ,who just laughed ,looking at me as if enjoying my reaction . An older member of staff came to speak to me, who spoke Spanish, I think he was Spanish, when I said to him that the 2 members of staff were finding it funny, he said that they had names, well I don't know their names and I am too short sighted to read their names if they were on display. In the same section I encountered peeled mini prawns swimming in water ...it was no sauce...it was water...I served myself some and decided not to eat them!. Many of the waiting staff can not speak Spanish, English or German what makes communication difficult. My partner doesn't drink alcohol, we're all inclusive and in the evening was asked to pay for a bottle water!! Yes ,they provide with water bottles to refill,and that's ok daytime but in the evening?? You don't want to carry a water bottle... The ice-cream tabs provided were always soft never hard!. Twice our table was cleared when we went to get our desert in 1 occasion and when getting our mains in another... .A third occasion my partner made the waiter aware that we were going to get another dish and asked to please to leave our table...still I was approaching the table and saw 2 waiters arguing as 1 was trying to clear the table and the other was asking her not to ..... The attitude of some members of staff was unpolite,unkind,unprofessional... It's truly sad to see the downfall of what it was a beautiful place space . The essencia area was inexistent ,meaning no difference to the rest of the hotel. Before there were 2 restaurants serving full meals, now just 1 does. The other 2 served snacks ,burgers, pizza ,pasta. We preferred how it was before with 2 serving full meals. The cleaning staff were always nice and polite. The bar tenders at day time were professional, polite and nice but in the evenings that was different, close to rudeness . The booking staff in Madrid were kind,helpful, professional. We don't know if we will ever return, its nearly 80kms from the airport and the transfer time is not a short ride...plus we have a 4 and a half hr flight to get to Fuerteventura. Before it was worth the extra transfer times but as it stands today ...sadly the appeal has gone... Stunning place with excellent customer care Hotel has all the facilities you need and although dated, (hence the refurbishment starting in November) its spotlessly clean.

The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. When we arrived in our room the place to put your card for electricity was broken. We spoke to the fabulous Marco on reception and maintenance were there to fix it 5 minutes later. We also mentioned we needed to borrow an iron and that arrived within minutes along with an ironing board. Faultless customer service!

Food is excellent, plenty of choice including vegan, gluten free and lactose free. Everything is cooked fresh and all delicious, especially the stone baked pizzas.

Drinks are anything from bottled water to soft drinks, slushes, cocktails, spirits, and with wine, sangria, and San Miguel on tap.

The evening entertainment is not great but we've had the World Cup to follow and the atmosphere that comes with it. Heat drops off in evening and its very breezy so take a light jacket or wrap.

Day activities vary, depends on the rep (Norman was great) but always something to join in with and a fun way to meet people.

I was impressed with the gym, has everything you need even if a little old.

Pools are lovely, there's 5 to choose from...large main where activities take place, chill out with swim up bar, beach views, naturist and a little kids pool next to a play area. Pool towels are provided, vouchers issued on arrival, enough to get fresh ones every other day. There are plenty of sunbeds, you really don't need to try and reserve them at the crack of dawn, even in shade (your towels will just be removed anyway). Lilos are allowed.

Beach (clothing optional) is stunning but sunbed hire has doubled since last year so we just popped back and fo...but beware the 101 steps, or a 10 min walk down the slope.

Shops in hotel have everything you may need at a reasonable cost, or huge supermarket across the road from main entrance. Jandia shops are a €10 taxi ride away. Ask for the Lighthouse for your drop off.

We're just ending our 2 weeks, be sorry to leave and will definitely be back after the refurbishment, hopefully it will still be the same, as in just as good, but also feel like a different holiday too.

Does not live up to the standards of the princess hotels in Tenerife Don’t bother with all inclusive all cocktails are watered down and on draft nothing freshly done most drinks are extra cost on top of all inclusive no table service for drinks you have to queue up at the bar restaurant is busy no matter what time you go food is just about warm apart from that the weather was nice 😊

Incredible vacation If you are looking for entertainment, beaches, pools, or good food, this is your hotel. As for the food, you cannot ask for more, they overcook the meat due to safety measures but even so it is very good. The beaches in the area are very good (crystal clear, white sand) and with few waves. The pools are well maintained, the occasional hole in the pool walls but nothing more. The best part was the entertainment with the activity staff, especially thanks to Desi, the only Spanish activity staff member there who brought the hotel to life, there were also 2 other activity staff members who barely spoke Spanish, but at least they tried, Esteban and Norman, if you know English there will be no problem talking to them. The only bad thing about the hotel is that it is a bit far from the airport and you have to rent a car (78 km which is more or less 1 hour). The hotel needs a bit of maintenance in the rooms, as you can hear everything that happens outside and inside the rooms, but in October or November of this same year, a minimum 14-month maintenance project begins and I hope that gets resolved.

Love it - but done touch the net (in volleyball)! Great spot overlooking a very pretty beach, the hotel has a good vibe (especially Norman from the entertainment team who went above and beyond to include all and he was just a really nice guy). Food is excellent with a large variety of options and theme nights - something for everyone! The rooms are very nice, clean, comfortable and cool (we were in room 8315 which was great and had a nice view of the bay). Very good value for money (especially given the reps have a consistent present on site and are very helpful in providing excellent solutions to any minor holiday issues). Mic drop !!!!
