- Club Jandia Princess

The 4 star all inclusive hotel Club Jandía Princess in the south of Fuerteventura is a paradise for adults and children alike. Located directly at Playa Esquinzo, this all inclusive hotel has two separate areas, one for adults (as of 18 years) and one for families.
The family area is tailored to the needs of children. The smallest guests just love the “Farm Princess” with its goats, rabbits, chicken and sheep and the vegetable patch, where they can plant and harvest to their heart's delight. The colourful, comic-style painted walls of the mini club describe the adventures of the “Principito”, the mascot of the mini club. It's the perfect place for the daily fun activities with the entertainment team.
The adults-only section is focused on privacy, relaxation and tranquillity. The wellness area offers relax pools, swim-up bar, whirlpools and a spacious fitness centre. A special Body & Mind sports program brings harmony to body and mind. Below the zen-area with its sauna and massage options, steps lead directly to Playa Esquinzo beach. For a small fee, guests of the family section may enjoy the facilities and services of the wellness area in the adults-only area of the hotel.
The core of the 10 building, bright-white complex is the shared pool landscape with its bars, and the main building with its buffet-style restaurants.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We had a really good week's stay at this resort. Reading the other reviews I was expecting something a bit more dilapidated but I barely noticed the issues other reviewers are talking about. We had a sea view room which was a nice surprise, it was clean and in good condition. No cockroaches or any unwelcome visitors, we had a couple of tiny ants in the bathroom but nothing to write home about, and it was cleaned everyday. The only slight negative is the air con was a bit noisy. We also ended up with no hot water on our final night, but at this point we needed to get ready for dinner and couldn't be bothered to wait for someone to come and fix it or move rooms.
The pools were decent and not too cold, and there were staff walking around cleaning the areas throughout the day. Most days we didn't have issues finding sunbeds, although the shady spots are taken early. If you want your choice of beds you need to be poolside by around 9.30 or before, otherwise it's a case of whatever's left.
I found the food to be very good throughout the whole week. The buffet restaurant had all sorts of cold and hot food, and the snack bar which was poolside had the usual pizza, burgers, hot dogs, chips, kebabs etc everyday as well as salads. If you can't find something you like then I really don't know what to say to you.
Beach was literally a 5 minute walk down some steps.
Wifi worked perfectly throughout the whole hotel.
The few negatives we found was the location of the hotel was not ideal. Aside from a supermarket opposite the hotel, there were no shops, points of interest or anything nearby to walk to and break up the day. They have shops in the hotel but they are limited. I needed a new bikini a couple of days in and had to choose from the very limited choice there.
Some of the staff are not the friendliest either, particularly behind the bar. At times you were almost made to feel like you were being a burden by asking for a drink.
We also felt the entertainment team could have put more activities on for children during the day. A lot of the activities like water volley are more geared towards adults. The kids were at times getting bored which often resulted in more money being spent in the arcade, and a few of the games were pedantic and swallowed our euros. In all honesty despite other reviews praising them, I felt the entertainment team were mostly invisible throughout the week.
The hotel is closing soon for full renovation so this review will be largely irrelevant soon, and the hotel will no doubt open back up at double the price! But for what we paid we thought it was a very good budget friendly holiday.
I had read some pretty awful reviews on here and had even contacted my holiday provider about changing hotel off the back of that.
How wrong I was! This hotel located a 5 minute walk to the beach and has lovely clean pools. The food is an all you can eat buffet catering to a variety of dietary requirements for breakfast lunch and dinner: hot food, cold food, continental, fruits, pastries and a chef side ready to whip up a bespoke omelette or in the evening their special e.g roast beef/ pulled pork etc
The staff are willing to help and the holiday provider reps are available early morning to liaise with. The drinks are mainly fizzy on a self serve machine but included on the all inclusive deal.
The rooms are cleaned daily with new towels provided and comes with a tv the hotel has accessible free WiFi
There are a few bespoke market shops downstairs under the main restaurant area to cater for any immediate need: nappies, crisps, drinks or souvenirs
This hotel is a little dated, it could do with a lick of paint and new cabinets where the laminate edging may have been worn but this is did not ever impact or determine the quality of our holiday. There is evening entertainment that ends at 11pm and it catered to all.
10 minute drive to the nearest town you can get a bus for €2 or hire a car.
You can read negative reviews but I nearly cancelled this hotel on that basis and I’m so pleased we stuck with it as I struggled to find a negative and Im quite fussy. We had a lovely family holiday and would return
Room : large and comfortable I got sea/pool view room, very beautiful, 8.5/10
Food: all inclusive, variety choices and tasty, no worries, 8.5/10
Environment and atmosphere: very good 8.5/10, beach only 5-8 minutes walk. Very beautiful sea view around the hotel!
Location: isolated, only hotel and beach walk around, if u want go town, need call taxi or drive.
Value: I booked last minute about £500/4 nights, very valuable, even £600-700, I will pay too, food is really fresh and delicious!
Overall: I have been travelled many places, e.g Crete, Lanzarote, Majorca, Gran Canaria, Corfu…. But this one can satisfy my requirements and I can said this one is top 3 hotel in my experience, very relaxing!
Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, as a solo trip.
Transfer from the airport was roughly an hour.
Room 8313 (sea view) was big, the bed was very comfy. All very clean. I had the air con on constantly but it didn’t really do much!
I upgraded the AI to the premium as that gave me a few perks. Drinks until bar closes (although I didn’t utilise this), Balinese bed one day, bottled water, wine and some other drinks in the fridge, late check out til 2pm- TUI wanted £67 alone just for the late check out so upgrading was better VFM.
The Balinese bed was comfy and very peaceful. There was a plate of fruit, bottle of Cava and 2 bottles of water when I arrived. However in other places I have been to these have also included waiter service for more drinks, and also a separate lunch menu, so this would have made the day better.
I spent most of my time by the relax pool. Didn’t struggle to find a sunbed or shade when I needed it!
Food- as a vegetarian I have been AI and really struggled to eat. However I didn’t struggle at all here. There was even a vegan area in the main buffet. I never actually made it to breakfast so cannot comment on that! The snack bar had less options but I was able to make a salad at lunch time. I went to the à la carte on one evening, and had potatoes, peppers, vegan tacos and cheesecake. Which were all tasty.
Drinks- I pretty much just stuck to Cava. Big shout out to Erik at the sports bar who kept me topped up in the evenings!
Entertainment- this was pretty terrible tbh 🤣 but that just made it more amusing!
On my last evening there was a cockroach in my room 😩 I rang reception and they sent someone up with a dustpan and brush and a can of spray. She sprayed all around and said it would be dead- but I asked her to leave the spray and thank god she did because 5mins later it appeared and I was able to spray it. Not the best experience but I handled it!
As others have said the hotel is closing for a well needed upgrade. It is looking very tired and is not currently at 4 star standard.
However all in all, I enjoyed my time here as a peaceful solo trip in the sun ☺️
I understand the hotel is run down and as long as you are aware of this in advance you can gage the hotel better before you arrive. Here are the other observations you should be aware of.
Staff and not very customer focused, generally not friendly and we were always made to feel like a burden whenever we asked for something - maybe this is this a cultural thing don’t let it put you off, just expect this is the way it is.
The TUI rep we spoke to was absolutely useless gave us basic information about the resort and some incorrect information which was annoying! She was young and I got the impression she couldn’t be bothered doing her job. So do some research before you arrive, luckily we did but she literally offered no other suggestions and told us to speak to reception about some items.
The main dinning area is very hot, stuffy and unorganised and not really a pleasant experience. Adult tables were always either full or tables were never cleared, resulting in me and my husband sitting in the family area and then being told off twice for this! The second time I bit back and told them to go and sort the adults area out!!! The dinner tables that are free never seem to be clean or have cups and cutlery replenished, nearly every meal we had to go hunting these down (no exaggeration). All drinks are self service and the coffee machines have long queues, the toasters do not toast (I had to put the bread in 7 times and the gave up). In the evening they don’t seem to have enough glasses you often had to drink Pepsi or wine from a tiny prosecco glass. Food will not be for everyone I can see why many complain. I don’t think you will ever go hungry but if you are a bit fussy you should prepare for days where you will struggle to put together a meal. Pizzas were good though.
Rooms are dated as others have mentioned. We had 2 single beds pushed together so one of us often fell down the gap!
The hotel is very isolated so you should prepare to pay for days out unless you are a pool/beach person. Don’t do the walk to the nearest town as the TUI rep suggested to us it’s far too long in the heat 🥵 get the bus outside the hotel or a taxi, buses can often be 10/15 minutes late so don’t think you have missed it. There are two no. 5 buses one goes on way and one goes the other, they often arrive around the same time but the driver will tell you if you get on the wrong one.
The drinks aren’t the best, we planned to upgrade upon arrival but was never asked at check in and as we arrived late in the night I was going to do it the following day but once I realised tasted the quality of the cocktails I didn’t think it was worth it. You must book the specialist restaurants within 48 hours upon arrival. There are two but one is closed so now both operating at the same restaurant - the food is exactly the same! You have to choose food options in advance. The food here was okay, but I have nothing more to add.
We are fit 40+ year-olds but I must admit keep going up and down the hill to the adult pools, beach, back to our room and then up and down the stairs of the main restaurant was tiring especially in the heat. It made me appreciate our ground floor apartment!
Entertainment is none existing, evening entertainment is on for around an hour starting at 9.30pm so there wasn’t much else to do in the evening.
The views are beautiful and if you are a pool person you should enjoy your stay. I can see that this hotel at one time would have been far more superior 🌟
If you paid a lot of money for your holiday I’m not sure you’ll feel it was worth the money 😬 if you’ve got a cheap deal or a last minute bargain you need to understand there is a reason for this
If you bear these issues in mind and be realistic that this is not a four-star platinum hotel ☹️ you can still have a lovely holiday.
Please also note that they have a lovely sister hotel down the road and upon arrival you will drive past it and think it’s yours but it’s not!!🤣🤣
