Pros:
Wonderful experience, the hotel is small and quiet, and exceptionally clean, the staff were friendly and the cleaning team were amazing they offered to change towels even if we didnt need our room cleaned. The pool is nice as is the bar area. We had breakfast each morning had a variety of food, plenty of spaces to sit without the hussle and bussle of a larger hotel. We enjoyed the near by beach and a coach trip to the next town. Only thing that they didn't have is evening entertainmemt but we enjoyed exploring the local area. Would highy recommend.
Great hotel. Reasonable price. Nice room with everything you need. As well as a fridge and a safe. Great location, 5 minutes to the beach. No bed loungers nor parasols at the beach. The beaches had low tide and high tide but you could always swim. White sand. Some part of it has volcanic rocks but beaches are mostly sandy. Balcony overlooking the swimming pool. Plenty of loungers, no bed hugging. Various good restaurants & shops all within walking distance. Supermarket next to the hotel. So was a laundrette, if you needed one. On site restaurant was excellent with buffet breakfast & various choices of evening meal. All staff were amazing and friendly. Very quick clearing the tables. On site gym, football court & paddle court with racket & ball.
Great hotel. Reasonable price. Nice room with everything you need. Great location, 5 minutes to the beach, with balcony overlooking the swimming pool. Plenty of loungers. Various really good restaurants & shops all within walking distance. On site restaurant was excellent with buffet breakfast & various choices of evening meal. All staff were amazing & went out of their way to make you feel welcome. Over 95% English speaking. (puts us Brits to shame.) On site gym, football court & for a little extra a paddle court with racket & ball hire. A quality break with what ever you want close at hand.
We have had a lovely week. Staff have been excellent. The room was clean. Safe was provided. Great location. We walked to the lagoons to the north and did surfing lessons on the beaches to the south. We hired bikes and cycled around. The hotel was happy to store the bikes in the left luggage area. The hotel bar Solar has live music at night and pool tables. We chose the hotel because it had a padel court and football pitch which we made plenty of use of. We had breakfast included which we enjoyed every day. El Cotillo is small but we found some lovely restaurants and bars. We thought we’d have to get the bus to Corralejo often but we only ever did that once finding enough to do in El Cotillo. We did get the bus to Lajares for the padel coaching which was regular and handy. Buses are on time and good value with a stop just behind the hotel and the main bus stand only a ten minute walk. You can basically walk from one end of the village to the other in 12 minutes. The pool bar does a lovely sangria and pina colada. The air con is very good. There is a hyperdino right next to the hotel which is very handy. On our final day we weren’t leaving until the evening so we asked for a late check out which they were able to provide even though the hotel was full due to the festival. We are grateful that they were able to give us some time. We never had issues getting sun loungers. Things which could be improved include replacing chipped mugs and bowls at breakfast and providing more shade at sun loungers and balconies. Our balcony faced west which meant we got the sun from 1pm onwards but we couldn’t use it because it was simply too hot without shade. We would also have liked water to be replaced daily in room. We got around this by filling water bottles at breakfast. Shower temperature varied. Add more bar staff in Solar. You could wait 25mins before getting served. We had a pool view room which was lovely and it was never too loud. The hotel is not massive so you’ll not get the children’s entertainment or clubs but that suited us perfectly with older teenagers who enjoyed the scheduled football and padel instead. We paid for ‘premium’ and got some wine and goodies on arrival but you are better off just paying for pool view. However, bottom line is that we would happily return to this hotel.
