The room wasn’t as clean as I hoped, which was disappointing for a 4-star hotel. I had requested a late check-out by just one hour (still well before check-in time for new guests) and even offered to pay extra, but they didn’t accommodate me — despite the hotel not being full.
One thing I wish I knew before going: German! Around 90% of the clientele is German, and that’s reflected even in the buffet, which leans more towards German dishes than Spanish ones. Another downside is that still water isn’t included in the half-board package — a small bottle costs €3.10, which I found quite exaggerated.
The language barrier was also an issue, as most of the staff speak only German or Spanish, and very little English. That said, all the waiters I interacted with were genuinely lovely and did their best, which definitely made the experience more pleasant.
I am currently staying at this hotel. Everything seems nice until we came to dinner our 1st evening. We were greeted by a very aggressive member of staff. He came right up into my face yelling about hotel protocol. He was so close his spit was landing on my face. As a woman travelling alone with my child, I found a man approaching me in this way frightening. I had literally just walked through the door of the restaurant not said a word and he started yelling. My crime? I was not holding in my hand a card. Apparently reception should have given me the card at check in but had not. I am sure there will be lots of other things about the hotel we will enjoy. But this aggressive man has soured my opinion of the hotel.
Fabulous hotel! Rooms were very spacious with sunbeds on the balcony. Lovely and clean (room staff were amazing). Food was incredible, huge amount of choice every day - if you couldn't find something to eat then that's a reflection on you as a person! The waiters all worked incredibly hard every meal time and were a pleasure to be around, always working with a smile and so helpful. The restaurant staff/chefs were also friendly and chatty. The pool temperatures were a little cold but very clean, always plenty of sunbeds to choose from. My only small criticism was the beach was inaccessible for anyone with limited mobility. Also, there didnt seen to be many excursions with pick up from the hotel. That said, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxation holiday. Would 💯% return.
There is a lot to like about this place but also, unfortunately, a lot to beware of, some of it in the "health and safety category." When it was first opened I am sure it was all glitz and glamour but now it suffers badly through lack of investment by the owners.
PROS - prime position overlooking a white sandy beach and frontline to the ocean
- for the money, very good food with lots of variety and cooked in front of you
- comfortable beds
- large, glamourous pool area with plenty of space for sunloungers
- hard working and genrally responsive staff trying to do the best for guests
CONS - outside walkway from reception to rooms with absolutely no night lighting.
Imagine navigating this 4 floors above ground with no protection.
- Poor lift maintenance. A piece of metal pipe approx one metre long fell on
my daughter in the lift - we used the stairs after that!
- Faulty room air conditioning which broke down twice in four days.
- Frayed webbing on some sunloungers making them unusable.
- The marble vanity in the Ladies on the main entrance floor held together
with three very large vices.
In my view, These are not small issues. It is a great pity that under-investment has left such a beautiful building in such a sad state.
loved the location and stunning foyer. Food was great and really enjoyed the week until the last day. We were spoken to very rudely in the dining room by a waitress, who questioned our right to be there and in front of other customers. After 2 e mails to the management , I have not even received and acknowledgment or an apology. This to me is common courtesy. I had no intention of putting this onto Trip Advisor, but feel I am being ignored. Such a shame after a lovely week.
