This bungalow complex enjoys a privileged location in a peaceful, residential area and enjoys fantastic views over Barca Bay. The complex is situated beside a natural park and the commercial centre of the resort is just 1 km away. There is a bus stop right in front of the complex and the beach is only 600 m from the hotel. This is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday under the warm Canary sun.
The Spa will be closed from 07/03/2022 until 11/04/2022.

Having stayed in the hotel several years ago & more recently the H10 Esmeralda over the road, we were very familiar with the area. The beaches are endless & clean. This time we returned to the Esmeralda Maris, an excellent choice if you just want to unwind & relax. I suspect the hotel has been recently refurbished, because all areas are spotlessly clean & well maintained. All staff were so friendly & helpful. we stayed in a junior suite (421) which had sea views, a really big terrace (25sqmts) and a side privacy terrace area decked out in astroturf. We really couldn't fault the rooms in the suite - exceeds all expectations We were half board, breakfasts were excellent & evening dinner ok, resteraunt staff were so helpful especially Rebeca. The only negative for us was that Easyjet holidays had described the hotel as providing midday lunch - they don't, and as such it was not possible to buy drinks during the daytime. But this as an Easyjet error, not the hotel. All in all if you want a stress free relaxing break, this is the place for you - we enjoyed it so much & will return
We visited this hotel in Costa Calma in June 2026. Although its in a very quiet location the rooms are excellent with large balconies and sunbeds. The pool is well maintained but can be pretty cold. Sun beds are always available (as not many guests go to the pool.) There is no pool bar or small shop for drinks & snacks. This appears to be because there is a large number of German guests who either stay in their rooms or go to the beach. The beach, which is lovely is a 10 minute downhill walk and there is a snack bar / lunch restaurant there. There are drinking water dispensers which fill your water bottle (supplied.) The nearest supermarket and few restaurants are both a 20 minute walk from the hotel. The snack shop mentioned on the hotel's website has been closed for some time. Car hire is recommended due to the hotel's remoteness and although there is an Avis machine in the reception area, the hotel across the road has a staffed sales point which is far simpler to use.
Overall, a very good stay at LIVVO. The apartments are off the beaten track, but this makes them closer to Sotavento Beach. The downside is that it's windier. The rooms are as described. The photos on the website are accurate. The apartments are comfortable (large TV – it was great to watch the World Cup matches) and the kitchen has all the necessary equipment. Housekeeping is scheduled five days a week. The gym, contrary to online reviews, is quite good, but there's a very nice fitness club only 1,400 meters away (worth checking out). Parking is easy at the property.
Since there are also Bahia Calma Bungalows in the center of Costa Calma, here's a quick comparison:
We (Husband & I) stayed in 2018 on a Self catering basis but after 2 days we discovered the excellent food available in the restaurant and ate there for the remainder of our 14 night stay. So, we were apprehensive about booking 8 years later, we need not have worried. The complex has been upgraded and is now a relaxing green on the exterior. The rooms/suites (we had junior suite No 325) are all of a generous size and have everything required for your stay, including toiletries and comfortable beds. The front patio seating area for the evening coffee and the internal courtyard for daytime relaxing was far more than we expected. This visit we chose to stay on a half board basis and the food in the restaurant is excellent. There is a great choice for every nationally, the waiting staff are amazing and nothing is to much trouble, which is the same for all members of staff. The swimming pool is clean and the low rise steps for entering/exiting the pool are a great asset (especially when your vertical challenged) as I am. The complex is located in a very quiet area, which is great for us. The only negative to the complex, there is no small on site shop for fresh milk etc for early morning/late evening tea/coffee as the nearest super market is quite a walk away. We had a great stay and would not hesitate to return in the future.
My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at the Hotel Esmeralda Maris By Livvo. As soon as we arrived at the hotel we felt relaxed. Our bungalow was very spcious, clean and had a beautiful sea view from our spacious sun terrace. We enjoyed relaxing on the sunny terrace during the day and the starry skies and the bright moon on an evening with a glass of wine were a great finish to our day . It was so very peaceful too❤️ The hotel was spotlessly clean, food was good(we were bed&breakfast) but paid for a few evening meals), and the swimming pool was kept immaculately clean thanks to the young man who was the pool attendant👌 We swam in it each morning and miss it!!! The staff at reception were cheerful and helpful as were the catering staff especially Rebecca and Youness who made us feel very welcome and did a superb job. Our room was cleaned regularly and was a joy to return to after a day of exploring. We would love to return.
