Well what can I say, we needed this break so felt indulgent escapes sounded right up our street Private transfer was perfect On arrival we were given some cava whilst checking in, a lovely porter took our cases to the room What an amazing room, view was the best room 243 sea view Water delivered to the room every day and the bed turned down with a chocolate Breakfast had a huge choice though the 2 covered items in the hot area as not labelled was amusing watching people check them out

Room was very clean, everywhere was clean and quiet The little chairs in the pool are a great idea

The only thing missing was chairs round the beach bar and ditch the long trouser rule for dinner (smart shorts) we may have eaten at a restaurant but for this rule

All in all a very nice relaxing break thank you

Secrets Bahía Real is a beautiful luxury hotel with outstanding facilities, exceptional rooms and excellent food. I genuinely enjoyed my stay, but inconsistent service prevented this from feeling like a true five-star luxury experience.

What I loved:

• Beautiful hotel with elegant architecture and a luxurious atmosphere.
• Exceptional cleanliness throughout the property. Special recognition to the housekeeping team for keeping my room spotless every day.
• Spacious, luxurious Preferred Club Junior Suite with a spectacular oceanfront terrace.
• Warm, professional and welcoming reception team.
• Excellent food throughout the resort.
• Outstanding Italian restaurant with exceptional service.
• Delicious Japanese restaurant with a fantastic sushi chef.
• Rendez Vous Bar with genuinely friendly, smiling and attentive staff.
• Special thanks to Malena, whose warmth and kindness stood out throughout my stay.
• Excellent gym with high-quality equipment.
• Beautiful pools with incredibly comfortable sun loungers.

What could be improved:

• Service was inconsistent. Some employees were wonderful, while many interactions felt passive rather than welcoming.
• Staff rarely anticipated guests’ needs. Empty cups and glasses often remained on the table without anyone offering another drink.
• Pool service was particularly disappointing. After bringing me a cappuccino on the first morning, the pool waiter never approached me again. I eventually started getting my own drinks from the bar, and I overheard several other guests making the same comments.
• Although the pools are beautiful, they’re surrounded by the hotel buildings, so you don’t get the spectacular ocean views or that true “paradise island” feeling while relaxing there.
• Lunch is only available in one restaurant every day. The food is very good, but after a few days you’ve essentially tried the whole menu.
• The beach is pleasant for relaxing but not ideal for swimming due to the rocky entrance and rough water.
• Preferred Club offered limited added value beyond the room itself.

Would I return? Unfortunately, no.

Not because of the hotel—it is beautiful, impeccably maintained, with fantastic rooms and excellent food. But for me, luxury is defined by service. Too often I felt as though I was inconveniencing the staff simply by asking for basic service. That’s not how I want to feel during my holiday.
